really? in the U.S. only? cause I've had lots of background and criminal checks and credit checks done and have never (that I can remember) had to list my previous addresses

My experience is US only. It may have been a child abuse check that required the addresses, can’t recall which one but I do them in the context of working with minors.

Heuermann not watching the news while in jail is interesting to me. If all reports are true, he was extremely interested in the case and especially interested in talking to people about it. Getting their ideas but also sharing his. If he watches the news he can't respond. The narrative is out of his control. Maybe he doesn't want others to see him mad. It seems like he has some sort of self control. We know he is able to have dates with sex workers and not kill. Maybe he waits until the second or third date. He's a hunter. Since LE has some of the phone records, they'll know. IMO, theres already enough evidence to put this guy away forever but it's always nice to have more.

Yes, years ago there was a theory on one of the documentaries that he may have done the one or two dates scenario in order to give the women a false sense of security. Then he kills them.

Beyond coverage of the murders, I also think he knows his dilapidated house, possessions, finances, the horrors found in the house are also in the news and up for public scrutiny, to his humiliation. At least, I would expect him to feel shame. But who knows - maybe he simply doesn't care.

@Kikalina, thank you for Dr. Baden's autopsy opinion.

I have seen rumour that Dr. Baden said there was a hole in Shannan's skull. That is not mentioned in his report. He mentions the larynx and part of the hyoid is missing - the conclusion seems to be that there was an injury to the neck based on absence of evidence. Was the rest of her skeleton intact with only those to parts missing? Can a conclusion of homicide be based on missing cartilage of a body that was in the marsh for 19 months?

Kolker states in his book that the skeleton was 'discovered almost entirely intact. All that was missing, besides a few finger and toe bones, were two of the three hyoid bones - the small fragile bones in the upper part of the neck.'

Small bones going missing is completely normal, especially in exposed remains. They're commonly carried off by animals like rodents or birds, but also, very easily overlooked in a recovery because of their size. Even in a straightforward burial in clean soil, sometimes a few of the small bones are not recovered.

Shannan lay in the open air in a marshy environment for nineteen months, through harsh weather and changes of season, and presumably, there were times when the water rose and fell. And that marsh... I've seen the footage of them wading into it on The Killing Season. If you dropped something like your car keys, even if they were on a hot pink lanyard, you'd be lucky to find them again. That marsh has reeds eight feet high, tightly packed and dizzyingly disorienting. Distal phalanges are smaller than dice, can be smaller than peanuts if you have small hands, and aren't brightly coloured to aid identification. They're the same colour as the reeds.

To be honest, I'm surprised she was as intact as she was. They even recovered her hair mat, another thing often moved around by animals. Birds and rodents like the hair for nest construction.

I am not a forensic anthropologist or an expert in the science of death, just a nerd for it.

There have been three serial killers caught on Long Island up until recently, we know that RH googled John Bittroff, and it seems that a lot of people thought he was responsible for the bodies found in Manorville. I've also seen a lot of speculation as to whether RH was responsible for all 11 killings, but can't get past the change in the way these killings were done. Maybe RH started off trying to imitate Bitroff, so that if his victims were found that would throw police off the scent. And that the Gilgo 4 four killings is his I'm comfortable I'm not going to be caught, I will step out of the shadows and be me kind of moment. His Google searches include children and Asian males, both of which were found in the search for Shannon. Perhaps the reality didn't live up to the sexual fantasy, although I'm aware of the conversation surrounding the murder of sugar bear. RH may also have had a finger on the pulse of what was going on in these communities through his contact with Escorts, and dug for information during dates.


Feel free to poke holes in this, genuinely curious as to what people think.

There is another Asian Doe, one out at Lattingtown, wearing a solid gold pig pendant (possibly suggesting she was born in the year of the Pig) but as far as I know, she is cisgender, not transgender.

I believe that to be the case. My friends cousin did so much coke one night he called the 911 tell them his house was being stormed by armed intruders. They arrested him for coke possession. Saw nothing on his cameras. The conclusion = a coke induced physcosis. Many people have called 911 while on drugs and described things that didn't exist.
Pak was her armed security. He begged her to go outside. I believe I read He passed a polygraph. I also believe brewer let the police inside and Hacketts whole Family was home.

1 small missing bone after 19 months in the elements. Snow, heat, rainstorms, high tides. Hell 3 months before SG body was found we got hit with the remnants of hurricane irene. 400k ppl lost power from wind and rain. The area where SG was found got clobbered during the storm.

If you listen to the 911 call recording, you’ll notice that the victim doesn’t sound like she’s under any type of psychosis, drug induced or otherwise. The nature of the events surrounding her death remain highly suspicious, including the dubious reputation of the former police chief who oversaw the investigation.

I assume the new task force will also reinvestigate her death. Their work is not complete, with at least 4 other victims found in Gilgo Beach, there will be more answers forthcoming.

However, on seeing that belt, I started wondering if Rex was RH's true given name. I wondered if he was baptized William, after grandfather, hence the initials on the belt. (Or else, someone liked visiting thrift stores). Rex is a popular nickname, though.

I would think it is his actual real name being that’s what he used on all his legal documents in his lawsuits

Yeah pretty similar situation here. I'm just looking at a case that I marked to follow, of an Asian/Hispanic male, the title of the thread says mariners Park. I think I may have accidently made the jump, so far the thread doesn't mention women's clothes though bit it was noted that he was small in stature. I wonder if I made the jump due to the fact that RH searches
