<modsnip> ... The family have signed a seven-figure deal $1m for documentary:

This is “documentary” thing is absolutely disgusting. I am actually Angered and Heartbroken for the real victims in the case.

The people who suddenly were murdered and unexpectedly ripped off the face of the earth by some sicko pervert or sicko pervert(s).

The children who grew up motherless. The parents, the siblings who were left with the agonizing pain of not knowing where there family member was for years. Only to find out they were in Some bizarre mass grave out off a creepy desolate highway on Long Island.

And now a another kick in the gut to these poor families… A pathetic network will be paying this random woman and her Lawyer to tell “HER” story? In a”Documentary” Really?!? You’ve gotto be kidding.

They are making this woman the $tar?!…of what?!? .. If it was not for the “real murdered victims” there would be No “documentary” at all.

What is this one going to be called?!
Serial Killer House Wives of Long Island?! Yes, it’s That Bad!!! .. and Worst of all is the fact that she is actually going along with with the whole circus!! Wow just wow…you can’t make this up if you tried…This really shows the true colors of some people.. It’s truly amazing what people will do for money and how embarrassingly desperate they can look while they do it…

And once again I point out…what about the “real victims” some whom Still remain nameless..one being a little kid!!

If Rex were my husband I would of changed my name bought a wig and be hiding under a rock on another planet by now… get my drift!

"Macedonio might be taking multiple symbiotic actions that enrich him..."

Exactly.

To me, this explains the documentary/docuseries. Exploitive -- and enterprising -- likely sees it as a way to monopolize on the publicity -- generate income for the client who signed his retainer before the inevitable airings without compensation.

I have mixed emotions.

At least this way she has some control over the invasion into their privacy.

I'm just not altogether sure her attorney has all of her best interests at heart. Including optics.

Agreed. It especially gets to me that youth and young adults grew up never knowing or barely remembering their mothers. You couldn't wave a million at me to make me ignore those innocents.

Macedonio is making a fool of himself claiming AE would have nothing (inculpating or exculpating) to say to LE, when he shouldn't know, not being with the prosecution or the defense. And when it just appears impossible that AE know nothing, given the close quarters.

Yet somehow she has a million dollar story for a production company? How can both be true? Nothing for LE, and a 7 figure story for the TV?

I am sickened by this.

This production helps Rex even more than AE, IMO

Absolutely… it’s seriously disgusting.

I suspect you and others on this forum may be more concerned about appearances than she or her attorney either. JMOO

What does this do for the motivation and ability (both yet unshown) of Macedonio to represent AE?

Her interests are supposed to be first to her lawyer, above all but the Law in general.

But what if she wants/ needs/ should do something that could interfere with Macedonio's side work for 400k?

Wouldnt it make better TV and worse governmental outcomes if Asa did not speak to LE in private, where LE could use the information strategically, but teased it and put it out in her reality show to get subscribers? Wouldn't it make better TV and worse governmental outcomes if AE complained about her inconveniences like a routine (insofar as arrested alleged serial murderers is routine) house search, turning herself into the victim, as if her inconveniences are far more important than the crime victims, and as if M Moore and this million dollar documentary did not address the unpleasantness of this search at all? Wouldn't it take away the prosecutor's ability to tell the story he wants to jury to form with the facts, tying them to conclude without a reasonable doubt that the defendant is a murderer, when jurors woukd likely have been exposed to a (inaccurate) narrative where AE is the victim of LE, but murder victims are ignored to the point they fade in importance? If jurors think of LE has messy home searchers rather than dogged investigators, how does this help justice?

Now, neither Asa nor Macedonia are incentivized to do anything but make great TV. I hold that AE has no business putting herself in front of the murder victims families. But that does not mean she is not in an awful situation, and maybe she needs legAl rep. If she does, she doesn't have it now. She basically has a macabre talent agent, with a serious criminal past, whose incentive structure is potentially at odds with AE's best interests.

(Interestingly, the incentivization Structure is not at adds with Rex's defense.)

I guess she’ll need to refund the GiveMeMoney funds. That would be the right thing to do. Maybe she’ll donate the Peacock funds.

I personally can't imagine that for a minute. Are you seriously thinking that is a possibility?
If so, you and I are seeing two completely different people.

Good thought, although I can't imagine they would ever part with any free money they've received to date. There's been nothing to indicate any one of them would freely donate any of the documentary funds they receive either. I don't see them as the kind of people who are givers; only takers. MOO.

I don't believe any of the funds collected will be donated to the victims’ families. I do feel for Asa and her children but my heart truly goes out to the families who've not gotten any monetary or investigative assistance for years. Attorney Ray has done the most advocating for them. Many don't like his style but he’s done a good job.
This documentary seems like reality TV at its worst.

Sure. No doubt she’ll do that.

Personally, I will ignore everything but justice for the victims hitherto unavenged.

Anything that detracts from justice for the victims is just not interesting to me.

<modsnip: discussing the monetary specifics of a fundraiser>
I've been reading your LISK threads here off and on for years and especially now since the arrest of Heuermann.
I grew up right over the Nassau/Suffolk border on Long Island's North Shore.
Thank you everyone for the wealth of information and your wanting justice for all of the victims and their families.

As some of you know, I have been archiving LISK since the first bodies were found.

Here is the Justice section (from arrest to present, and there will be a new one for Trial):

Here is the Main Case Archive (up until the arrest):

There are more sub-sections as well.

The letter is a must read.
Just mind-blowing and telling that Rex said he'd take a convicted serial killer's advice to heart about admitting to the murders.
Of all the people who wrote to Heuermann he said it was only the "Happy Face " serial killer who he responded to.
I would think that Michael Brown Heuermann's lawyer isn't too pleased about this letter.
I still want to know if it was Melissa Moore who closed down the fundraiser she started for Asa after finding out about the million dollar documentary?
