As DA Ray Tierney was questioned following today's press conference about the possibility of reviewing the Rita Tangredi and Colleen McNamee cases, Tierney said he had looked at the cases and believed the convictions were correct. That's why his office is "defending" the convictions, he said.

Now, I suspect that means his office has looked at everything and there's no evidence of RH in those two cases.

I'm very literal and that doesn't quite finish the questioning for me. I do realize I personally have no hold on DA Tierney and there is no reason for him to satisfy my questions. Unfortunately, our legal system doesn't always seem interested in justice. He is a public servant and as such will seek re-election.

IF the possibility exists a man has served 20 years for murders he did not commit then Tierney's office needs to take a long and very thorough study to be positive justice has been served - in my personal opinion. Not tippy toe around supporting previous convictions.

The people of Suffolk County deserve to have an explanation worded in such a way THEY are satisfied it was JB and not RH who killed Rita Tangredi and Colleen McNamee.

So, just say it -- We've re-examined all the evidence, including the DNA and unidentified hairs, and there is NO evidence of Rex Heuermann nor anyone known as his associate in either of the cases Bittrolff has been convicted of. Make it specific. Make it clear. Let's not dance with legal niceties.

Well said!!

Not only does the DA have no incentive to ensure a conviction is correct, our legal system makes it incredibly difficult for a defense team to get new evidence submitted and/or tested, and new trials are so rarely granted. IMOO, laws need to change.

Indeed. In my opinion, in the past, the legal system has been too much about wins/losses instead of justice. Tierney is under no obligation to support previous convictions and, again in my opinion, should not be just because that's the way it's always done: respect your colleagues.

Even the Innocence Foundation has such a long wait before it will look at a case anyone wrongly convicted is expected to wait years to grind through all their appeals before the foundation will even look at the case. This is my understanding as I was interested in suggesting a case to the foundation and realized I could not because it was recent.

We are seeing change, much in what I see as the right direction, but sometimes it sure takes a long time.

I don't understand these $1 property sales
Can you do that in USA ?

So, now RH is in jail (still not found guilty) - and he can sell off all his property ?
To protect all his assets to the victims can't make a claim (?).....
Sorry I just have loads and loads of questions of the impact of such $1 sales.

I don't think we can do that in Australia (?)
Otherwise everyone would be transferring properties to avoid Sales Tax - Capital Gains Tax etc. etc.
Or, plead poverty and get a Legal Aid lawyer.

Would appreciate if someone could please explain the nuisances.

Obviously trying not to get the place dug up! For a lady saying she needs money so badly why sell to him if nothing to hide?

They're trying to protect the property assets from the victims' families. Initially, its why Asa Ellerup filed for divorce, to protect their home and other properties. However, it doesn't appear their divorce is finalized. Maybe they felt it was more important for her to remain Rex's wife and support his innocence in the news media.

2 of them seem to have been transferred from Asa to RHs brotherView attachment 531791
The Chauvins had legal issues with doing that during their uncontested divorce.
Having transferred all property and money from Derek to his wife Kelly to avoid possible civil lawsuit pay-outs against Derek.
I don't know the outcome but it may look better on paper for Asa until it doesn't getting properties even out of her name.

IMO:
I would be shocked if she finalized her divorce,if ever.

I guess I can understand how you don’t want to destroy the lives of your family just because RH turned out to be Dr mabuse meets Iceman.

But I have the worst flu I’ve ever had at this very moment, so…..take that with a geain of salt.

#LISK update: Reporting from the Suffolk County Police Academy on Long Island where @RayTierneyDA
released brand new renderings of “Asian Doe” to the public after a forensic experts were able to give us a more detailed look at what this victim may have looked like before his death. This victim who was found in 2011 along Ocean Parkway, and just 300 feet from Gilgo Four victim Megan Waterman, was wearing women’s clothes and may have worked in the sex trade. D.A. Tierney says he died a violent death of blunt force trauma to the head. These new images are being circulated in multiple Asian languages around New York to see if his face triggers a memory for someone who may have information about his identity, and another new detail, Tierney says there is DNA found at the scene that they are working with. LISK suspect Rex Heuermann is not a suspect, but he is accused of searching for many deeply disturbing things on the internet including torture, pornography and for sex workers, including Asian escorts thousands of times.

So… there was DNA left at the scene with our Doe.

This is the first we are hearing about it, but that is incredibly promising.

Or trying to move/shelter assets?? Regardless, on top of her other decisions, it doesn't put her in a favorable light. I realize that she doesn't owe anything to the public, but she's becoming rather irksome. imoo

She could have capitalized on all if this in a positive way once the trial was over. IMOO

Thanks for the "Asian escort" info, I had asked if any other Asian info besides "Asian Twirk" was available to the public.

This:

" Tierney says there is DNA found at the scene that they are working with."

What I find amazing is according to google the business is still up and running
I just read the latest reviews.
They're directed at RH and are meant to be funny but knowing about all his victims their humor misses the mark.

What? Open 24 hours.
There's no website.
Did you see one?
