This guy is also interviewing "Hawkshaw" on this episode of his podcast. Someone here at WS was asking me about "Hawkshaw" the other day. He used to post here at WS. So shout out that he's being interviewed on this episode.
Pete aka Hawkshaw interview takes place on Tuesday and Josh will upload it this Thursday.

Thanks for the shout-out about Hawkshaw.
I'm looking forward to it and this is my introduction to him.

Im really looking forward to Hawkshaw.

He has a lot of insight into the politics of the community where Shannan was last seen and presumably was murdered.

"Gilgo Beach serial killer Rex Heuermann

will team with FBI in ‘Mindhunter’-style deal

digging into the mind’s dark side.

Long Island’s most notorious serial killer will help the FBI figure out what makes his sick mind tick
— part of his chilling plea deal in eight cold-case slayings,
officials said."

Oh, my.
The documentary was produced by rapper 50 Cent's G -Unit Film and Television production company.

'The Gilgo Beach Killer: House of Secrets'

2016

'The curious case of Robert Macedonio'

"Macedonio’s social media posts seem to embrace the caricature of the flashy New York criminal defense attorney. There are photos of him holding a bejeweled champagne bottle in front of a Lamborghini; thanking rapper 50 Cent for gracing his daughter’s Sweet 16 party; showing off new Gucci sneakers; sitting courtside at New York Knicks games; and passing out Thanksgiving turkeys from trucks.

Macedonio’s supporters at a 2012 hearing to regain his law license spoke of the attorney falling prey to the temptations that come with success. Macedonio testified that after his marriage collapsed in late 2001, his drinking and cocaine use became a problem that he recognized only after his law partnership with Brown dissolved in 2005. (Brown declined to be interviewed.)

Rumors circulated in the court system that Macedonio had gotten too chummy with some of his criminal defendants. Suffolk County Judge Stephen Braslow testified during Macedonio’s license hearing that he once advised Macedonio to be wary of socializing with “50 cents and 25 cents and whatever these guys are,” presumably a reference to 50 Cent and his oft-arrested protégé Tony Yayo.

Macedonio represented Yayo when he was charged with slapping the teenage son of a rival, and Yayo ultimately pleaded to a violation.
“You can’t be hanging around with the clients, whatever they’re doing or not because they have nothing to lose,” Braslow said he told Macedonio. “You do. You’re a lawyer. You have a law license.”

If Josh was going there with the 1 million AE was reported to have gotten for the "House of Secrets" documentary and did his estimation of how much she would end up with he should have known that both Macedonio and VH & CS's lawyer each got paid separately for their parts in it.
Macedonio was paid $400,000 and Metiv was paid $200,000.
Josh wrongly assumed that AE would be paying Macedonio a pretty big percentage like her Peacock contract was a contingency deal/settlement from her 1 million and never mentioned that both lawyers had their own deals with Peacock.
Josh whittled AE's million down to $400,000 after paying Macedonio and taxes.
imo

@ 24:33 Josh says Macedonio is easily taking 30% off of AE's 1 million.

How did quiet, reclusive homebody Asa manage to find and hire a flashy character like Macedonio to represent her ? He and the rapper/ producer must have sought her out. It does seem unethical on the lawyer’s part.

Very sad that true crime documentary producers and attorneys don’t always seek out the families of victims for these lucrative deals. Interesting that Kohberger’s family hasn’t sold out.

Basically, this man has found a way to enrich himself greatly in crime, while remaining a free man.

He ruined Asa's reputation. He put her in the public eye at her worst moments, and emphasized her illnesses, even implying she was mentally ill.

He manipulated her so he could get a huge peacock paycheck.

Asa should not have allowed that to happen. But he did approach her right when it appears her psychological blinders to her marriage, necessary for her survival, were no longer working and she needed to adjust to new information. Asa had the support of the community, and Macedonio ruined the support by turning her from seeming a genuine victim of awful circumstances into seeming to be an aggrieved, mentally ill person who thinks her victimhood is important out of proportion to her circumstances, especially given the horrors committed by her husband.

I cannot think of one nice thing to say about Macedonio.

He love-bombed her, then weakened her by calling her mentally ill.

But that doesn't answer the question: who sent him?

Yes, sadly it's the poor victims who get lost in the media frenzy for viewer and readership. Social Media has turned LE reporting and the way it's handled into a 3 Ring Circus IMO. No respect for the dead or the grieving, just looking to make that next $$ from clicks and likes.

How many people can actually name these victims? Of course they can all tell you about the monster that killed them. Same about the victims of the murderer from Idaho, I refuse to call him by name since he was sentenced. Disgusting IMO.
