John Ray symposium tomorrow!!

It's a fantastic location for sure. But it doesn't look like he kept it up too well for someone that does all this construction and he's an architect. Weren't there like bare wood posts supporting the roof over the front porch? He's talking so much about building furniture and so forth. The house just didn't seem to reflect it. I know he keeps saying he purchased this house because it belonged to his parents, but I look at that house and wonder if it's not a reflection of how he really felt about them. Because he was making quite a bit of money, and even if he wasn't, he's supposed to be such a craftsman, and to me, that house looks something of a mess from the outside, and there are many reports that it was chaos inside as well.

John Ray symposium tomorrow!!
Are you watching this now?
The only live stream I see is on a YouTube channel that I don’t wish to support.
If anyone has an approved link to the symposium, I’d appreciate it.

They're playing the tape of Shannan's 911 call, when someone is trying to force her out of the house. After Rex H's arrest and details of his attacks and hunting women, it sounds a lot like she doesn't want to leave because someone outside the house was going to hurt her. Why else wouldn't she want to leave a house where someone is after her?

The sound on the video has some echo. JR's people said the recorded version they post after the symposium will have closed-caption.

He's now pointing out all of the lies that were told the night Shannan went missing.

Not much audience, it seems. :(

The online stream had about 400 people watching.

John Ray's presentations are pretty detailed and a little wonky, which is good. A lot of people don't like in depth presentations, they like to be entertained, unfortunately.

@ 3:37:00 the woman who claims to have been in the Heuermann's residence with NYC narc detective boyfriend along with the now deceased Karen Vergata,
The problem is you can't understand what she's saying due to weak/mumbling audio and filming distance.
I just read that according to Ray's people subtitles are to be added to video. ??

Hopefully Ray will put the video on his website with subtitles.
Sadly, the filming distance throughout took so much away from the symposium.

On Tuesday, John Ray, the attorney for Gilbert's family, held a symposium on the Gilgo case at St. John's University where he introduced witnesses who have all given sworn affidavits detailing their alleged encounters with Heuermann.

In their affidavits the women said they went to Ray because they 'did not trust' the Suffolk County Police Department.

It's difficult to believe they didn't prep for that and do a better job.
Well, maybe this way the people that were there can help disperse this important information in a media savvy way - ie not all at once like a raging vulcano but making the most of each horrific story. They all deserve to be highlighted in their own right.

I don't see RH as a stalker. More of a spider with a web. These guys are almost always loners. Accounts from those who knew him paint him as such. Loner in high school. Nerdy. Awkward. Look at other serial killers who targeted sex workers. They were regular johns who were obsessed with working girls. They cruised around by themselves eyeing up the girls, circling around multiple times. The accounts of him acting "stalkerish" are actually just him being his typical, a**hole, bullying self. Sadists are often like that in "the regular world". BTK is a good example of that. I can almost assure you that this guy wasn't stalking anyone in particular, or rubbing shoulders with an accomplice. It goes against his very nature. The fact that he was using a burner to schedule "regular" pickups shows that he was hiding his affairs from someone other than just the police. These were common tools for johns with significant others. Asa may be unlikeable, but that doesn't make her an accomplice.

Hi, sorry, I'm trying to use the quote feature and it won't work, so just pasting here: "I can almost assure you that this guy wasn't stalking anyone in particular, or rubbing shoulders with an accomplice. It goes against his very nature." Not saying he had an accomplice. His deeds are heinous, and collusion gets more and more difficult to get the higher up the crime would move in level of severity. And he'd be laying himself open to blackmail and extortion.
