Still playing with this quote feature! LOL, and saw Trapeze noted many times, and the woman in relation to that came forward at the symposium. The thing is, though, the woman the night this happened that's supposed to be AE told the other woman who signed the affidavit that RH had brought her/AE out from another country and she (woman supposed to be AE) owed everything to him. To my knowledge, though, AE went to Farmingdale HS, I mean she and RH are roughly the same age, he couldn't have "brought her" to the US in grade school, so I don't know what to make of that, and there may be some confusion on whether that was actually AE or some other woman with RH, I've got no idea. I've often wondered if RH didn't have a cooperative female (other than AE) assisting him in deceptions. Or maybe AE's just lying that night on the "brought out" to US point. That's a powder keg and I don't know what to make of it. I do recognize RH may have had some accomplices, or maybe he just surrounded himself with people he was able to manipulate (?) Sex parties-- no doubt for RH. Not sure beyond that.
About AE's story on that swinging night: I am sometimes amazed that people manage to communicate at all with any understanding. I've watched people misinterpret and turn things inside out: you say 4 weeks, people automatically hear a month. I interviewed people and wrote stories. Therefore, I was especially careful with my quotes. I wrote the story, using the quote I recalled, then went back to get the actual quote from the tape. I was often amazed at how I remembered a quote and what the person actually said. Mentally, I had substituted synonyms in my vocabulary for words the person actually said. Each of us interprets what we hear and that's what we remember. Naturally, from my notes, I was able to fix the quotes, but the woman testifying was recalling an incident from years ago and did not have notes to rely on. If I understand, English prob. is not AE's first language and she may have her own way of expressing things. And sometimes people mis-hear and mis-remember. I think more red flags would have been raised for me if the story were too perfect, according to what has been recently published.
I doubt RH has an accomplice in the murders. I think he chose Gilgo Beach because of his longtime, happy memories there. Plus it's close to his home. He can simply drive down the Parkway and know his delicious secret. Maybe he had a favorite place to park and just bask in "his" place and his "work".
However, I believe from the beginning evidence has indicated a group of like-minded men with the same sexual interests. Remember where the men were rating the SWs? I believe that was on LI and not in the city and was some kind of early Internet board or forum. Does anyone remember exactly what that was?
RH networked for his business. I suspect he did for his hobby as well.
I wonder if turning a SW loose in a desolate area, then hunting her wasn't one of their games.
IF the group hunted, she would have been captured, paid, and turned loose to return home. However, if RH were doing the hunting - say after a party, most likely she was not as fortunate. Perhaps the story of the motel party is closer to their usual meetings, they gathered for sex and drugs and there was no hunting.
Or things varied. I do suspect more men, perhaps powerful men, were involved in the unsavory underbelly of society activities and would do whatever it takes to protect their reputations.
