Oh man...
I've got to walk away from this today for awhile.
I told myself the same thing.

I switched devices. That was how far away I got.

By witness, do they imply that the witness saw the murder and/or dumping of the body.
"A witness was interviewed in 2003 after Taylor's remains were found, who said at 10:30 p.m. on July 25, she saw a dark-colored Chevrolet pickup track backed-in to the same wooded area where Taylor's body was found, prosecutors said."

Thanks - that is worth the re-read! Some snippets:

"During one rehearsal, Heuermann - without telling anyone - added additional weights to the bottom of the pulley system that raised and lowered the stage curtains, the classmate recalled.

When she pulled on a lever to drop the curtains while holding onto a rope connected to the system, her 95-pound body suddenly went soaring toward the auditorium ceiling.....

[T]he former classmate said she thought the hulking, 6-foot-4 teen was 'marking his domain' by making it hard for other students to handle the curtains under the additional weight."

link in quote post.
Who can fathom the mind of a sadistic serial killer like RH? She thought he added the weights so only he could pull the curtains when it's far more likely, knowing what we know now, it was no accident and he was probably setting up his first (attempted) murder.

Dark triad.

I am always stunned by the admissions of killers when they reveal, "I wanted to know how it would feel...." the torture of pets... to the murder of people.... like it's all an experiment to see how it would feel to them, not a consideration for how it'll feel to the victim.

IMO RH has taken this to new heights. Depths. If captivity was part of his M.O., he was looking to cause maximum pain... evolving, devolving into a sicker and sicker beast.

Horrendous.

I don't understand the thing with the cat litter?
Since listed with “bags,” all I could think of was that it might be used to soak up liquids (such as blood) to ease scooping up for disposal.

ETA: maybe the wood chips or sawdust found on or with other victims was for the same purpose?

Did he coldc0ck his victims, bring them to his empty home, hold them hostage while torturing them, then murder and dispose of them right before his family's return?

What HELL happened in that home?????

I don’t know of the rest of us, here but I’m feeling overwhelmed and less safe knowing that monsters like this walk right beside us. This new information makes it all so real. I always suspected this was the work of one man, at times I thought he might have shared his activities with other sick people but now I’m wondering if didn’t find other perverts, follow their activities, join their online chat rooms maybe even going to places they spoke of. I also think he didn’t stalk only targets but potential patsies.

Vess Mitev trashed Ray big time after Ray came out with claims that Asa was not at a hotel vacationing when she supposedly was there.

Lawyer for Gilgo 'serial killer' Rex Heuermann's children ...

Feb 6, 2024 — Vess Mitev told The U.S. Sun the fantastical allegations made by attorney John Ray during a symposium on the Long Island Serial Killer last ...

Oh dear this is so tragic !
Those poor women :(
Six (6) now......
RH would have been 29/30yo - fits right in with when Serial Killers start......

Who is witness 3 ? if, indeed this is correct ?

Okay. Hair of RH’s live-in girlfriend found on SC.

Hair of AE and daughter found on other victims.

Explainable, sure. (My family has several long-haired women, I know how it gets places.)

But I hope every possibility is thoroughly investigated before all is said and done.

John Ray lets loose on Rex and new indictments.
Stockholm Syndrome.torture, and wall paneling removed during the recent search.
He alludes to other people who lived in the Heuermann house,he had stated last year that for a time Craig Heuermann and wife lived there but I don't remember the timeline.
Also alludes to Asa needs to be investigated fully.
Lots more.

I highly doubt a media organisation would pull out of having exclusive access to the family when the case is just getting bigger. If anything they'll be high fiving each other for getting in early, when they could offer a lower amount and be accepted.

If it bleeds, it leads. The media isn't a charity, death and disaster is literally their stock-in-trade.

It disturbs me that RH's family can profit from the deaths of these young women.

Cat litter used to absorb fluids so they can be cleaned up more easily. It’s actually commonly used in classrooms for this purpose. Like if kids vomit. Although certain (nefarious) sources recently politically weaponized this to claim that “kids identifying as furries” were being indulged with litter boxes in classrooms. It has always been for soaking up fluids.
I don't understand the thing with the cat litter?

Jessica Taylor disappeared on 21 July 2003. Rex H bought a new Chevy Avalanche pick up truck on 22 July 2003. A witness saw that truck backed into a road near where her body was found on 25 July 2003.

So, did LE have a description of the Chevy Avalanche in 2003?

Rex had it all planned out. She was the first victim transported in the Chevy Avalanche, his vehicle of choice for picking up, transporting and dumping victims.

An alarming detail is the gap in time from Jessica's disappearance-last phone calls and the vehicle being spotted.

The recent indictment text suggests what filled the time gap.

One thing Rex reminded himself to do was have is story ready. His story to whom?

Color me surprised.
Not.

"Heuermann’s lawyer and the lawyers separately representing his wife and two adult children declined to comment."
They're speechless. Lol.

I don’t know about you guys, but this is even far more horrific than I was expecting out of today’s announcement. I was thinking maybe RH was responsible for all or most of the victims, maybe not. And that he sexually assaulted, strangled, and dumped like a lot of garden variety SKs. This is a whole other level. A literal horror movie come to life. I’m just reeling.

Sped read it. Now I'm weeping.

Absolutely predator.

They found his notes on unwritten cells on his hard drive.

Columns for supplies, steps, dump sites.

Remember to...

Next time....

This is appalling, devastating, chilling....

Cleaning the cavities, playtime, and heavier rope. These poor women were probably killed in the basement of the home.
Who holds on to old devices? My husband is a computer analyst and he only holds on to his hard drives.

They're speechless. Lol.
I hope so. I’m sorry to say it, but maybe they finally realize that this is about the unimaginably tragic ends of the—many—victims’ lives, and not their personal inconveniences during the investigation. My god, that “can’t comprehend” statement from their lawyer was insensitive and tone-deaf!

In the end, his hoarding wasn’t just a disgusting habit, but the means to justice for his victims. His meticulous planning may have actually helped him escape justice—but he just couldn’t let go of the evidence, and it nailed him in the end.

Before I'm forgetting it, I want to mention apropos "surgical drapes" and other things: AE once worked in a HOSPITAL, maybe when they RH/AE married or before. I will try to find the link. It must have been a special report about her only, like "Things to know about AE" or similar.
If I remember right, it was NO job as a nurse, but perhaps in administration. I am not sure.
I think her sister or a friend mentioned she was like a candy stiper- a volunteer or worked an unskilled admin job.
