The district attorney has previously stated that Heuermann, already charged in six killings, remains a suspect in the other decades old unsolved killings along Ocean Parkway near Gilgo Beach, including Valerie Mack of New Jersey, whose parents told Newsday they plan to attend Tuesday’s conference.

Her half-sister, Tricia Hazen, said she intends to watch the press conference from home.

Back in June LE had some circumstantial evidence for RH having killed VM but it obviously wasn't enough to indict him along with SC & JT.

We may see tomorrow what an extra 6 months have turned up.


"The document also includes information on how Heuermann would prep a body, items he would need to dispose of it, as well as "pre-prep," "prep" and "post event" lists.

One of the notes under "body prep" is to "remove head and hands," which the court documents say, "clearly relates to the condition of Jessica Taylor's and Valerie Mack's remains, as both victims were decapitated and dismembered at their arms below their elbows."

About 2 yrs ago LE was able to identify KV through DNA genetic genealogy.
Thankfully they now have her family DNA to work with.
I've yet to see it reported that KV's family has been called by Ray Tierney like Valerie Mack's family recently was about tomorrow's presser.
Both VM's father and sister told the media that they don't know what's to be announced.

Valerie Mack's family has been contacted but I haven't heard anything about Karen Vergata's family.

It does look that way.
But..Tierney & Co. are known to indict RH for more than one victim's death at a time.

RHs earliest known victim died in 1993. So i don't think phone records will be needed to charge him


Dna was able to be extracted from hair found on Maureen. I believe she was out there much longer than Val was

That is true. I’m not sure how her body parts were on the beach (bags or not) but one article I had read about her parts found in Manorville was that it was pretty gruesome. I don’t know how they go about getting evidence when decomp is really bad.

Not sure what coverage of RH’s cell phones is available to LE, but if it i true that RH killed most of his victims when his family was MIA, then it’s likely he visited previous victim’s dump sites around those dates - for ”inspiration” before he killed new victims.

That would be windows of time and space that I would be looking into to find possible RH victims.

That’s closer than between Melissa and Maureen (the nearest neighbours of GB4). Or about the same, really, 250 vs 264 feet.

It is right next to a highway, so…I guess two killers can think alike.

Officials charged Heuermann with the killing of Valerie Mack, whose remains were discovered in November 2000.

Mack's parents are expected to attend a news conference as prosecutors announce the new charges.

Heuermann is set to be arraigned in a Suffolk County court on Tuesday on a superseding indictment, adding a new charge of second-degree murder.

Officials, who once identified Mack as Jane Doe number 6, say her remains were scattered across Long Island.
