Gilgo Beach LISK Serial Killer, Rex Heuermann, charged with 7 murders, July 2023 #16

June 11, 2025
'Rex Heuermann has been in jail for almost two years, during which he has shown no remorse for his seven alleged victims, The Post has learned'.

''His friend who visited him in jail, David Jimenez, 63, says he wouldn’t give him details about the alleged crimes, but also showed no emotion for anyone beside himself.''

“I personally think he disconnects one [personality] from the other and has no remorse.''

''Jimenez also feels Heuermann won’t admit to anything because he wants to watch the trial unfold and all the gory details to be poured over once again in open court.''

"Well for one thing, my self esteem and self-worth are six feet under," Victoria Heuermann told Rawson. "I feel like I definitely do jump between depression and anger, like, 'Why am I even here anymore?'"

She added: "There's people out there who want me dead."

Victoria Heuermann told Rawson that she had visited her father once since he was arrested.

"Even when I saw him, when I visited him in jail, he just seemed like himself, how he always is, and it's so hard to even believe the fact that he's this sick killer," she said. "But at the same time, because I was so young at the time, I also don't know that he's not this sick killer."

oh definitely, Rex is a sadist and the shock and horror of his crimes is music to his ears. the sight of
his victims and his dissections and dismemberments are his high art. mOO

IMO:

And what would this "definite, definitive proof," look like to AE ?

AE finally admits there are signs she may have seen.

"whether or not I saw the signs"

"When Ellerup was asked
if she is still asking herself how she couldn't know about what her ex-husband has been accused of, she replied, "No."

"I'm not asking myself that question because I believe that I would know. And until I see definite, definitive proof, there's no way I'm going to know for sure, whether or not I saw the signs," Ellerup said."

"When the subject of violent torture 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 allegedly being found on Heuermann’s computer hard drive arose, she dismissed it, saying she’s not sure it belonged to him. She referred to the fact that her hair and Victoria's were tied to a victim as “circumstantial.”

Can a Jury Convict Someone Based Solely on Circumstantial Evidence?

Yes—actually, most criminal convictions are based solely on circumstantial evidence.

THAT part!!!!!!
Even the pause between “there’s no way I’m going to know for sure” and “whether or not I saw the signs.” Almost like she didn’t like the way the first part sounded when it came out of her mouth and then had to add the last part to reiterate or make it clear.
I thought maybe they waited until the near end to show that clip because she seemed the most deceptive there IMO.

just finished episode 2 and Asa's life seems like the product of chaos, yet she is so cool headed and resigned. I don't know , she doesn't seem so rehearsed in ep2 but still it feels off ... the scene where they talk on the phone with Rex is utterly bizarre.

she is an adopted child who was working at 711. he was a middle class college student...bound for a 6 figure+ career.

it's absolutely shocking to see the deplorable conditions Asa lived in...didn't she wonder what he was doing with all his money? the house is falling down and it's a hoarder house.
I think she was grateful for security, I think she would never question Rex, so she lived in this limited space where she had safety. but then you see her glowing at Rex's voice like it's the voice of Jesus and you have to wonder if she's his hag, his eegor, his witch.

I am convinced Victoria is troubled by things , she doesn't even resemble her younger self. I feel like she has pushed a lot of things down. She is extremely talented and I'm very curious about her interests and if she even knows where she got those particular and peculiar interests that Ray has filled us all in on.

Asa's son doesn't seem nearly as disabled as I imagined from the crying scenes in front of the house.

you have to wonder why they live like poor people in a shack...I wonder if it benefits Asa in any way to appear needy and poor. at the very least this is an eccentric bunch.

Nothing will be enough evidence for her until she works thru her denial.

She needs to step out of the spotlight as much as possible so she can work thru this and stop subjecting the victims families to the things she's saying
She was doomed for a 2x when immediately after RH's arrest she let Macedonio take charge.
That is also a strong indication that there were no close/smart/reliable people around her when it all came down to protect her, her children and advise her.
I'd like to know what kind of financial arrangements were originally made when she retained Macedonio via Michael Brown.

IMO

Did anyone else watch this on their phone, take a bunch of screenshots just to go back to them, and find them blank?! I was looking at the family pictures for things like the sheet found with Tanya, the belt, anything.

I'm not so sure AE knew what was going on WHEN it was going on. But I believe she knows he's guilty NOW. She may not want to admit it for whatever reason, (she's scared, for the money, loyalty, w/e) but even their daughter can look at the facts and come to terms with reality. Mom’s BS.
I felt like VH was struggling with telling how she really felt and at the same time wanting to support her mother. I can't help but feel sad for her.

VH said that in the basement where they believe he put up the plastic tarps was RH's childhood bedroom! She kind of just blurted it out. She said the idea of murdering women there would be a "little unrealistic" but "not impossible." I felt the opposite, more like - of course, that's exactly where he'd want to do it.

Before the days of Craigslist, Backpage, he had to "hunt" the streets. So, when the bodies were being discovered and it became public that they were all SW solicited on CL and such, I had thought maybe he thought it got too hot and he went back to hunting the streets instead of online, whether it was a street walker or a bike rider/jogger in Bryant Park or a woman riding the train, or even Natasha Jugo. BUT, they did say in the bail doc that he was still emailing SWs, one named Bella or Mia inquiring about her bdsm bed. So we don’t know if he was still murdering, but we do know he was still soliciting sex workers online.

John Ray mentioned Jessica Taylor was known to carry a bible around with her. I feel like we've heard this before, but It reminded me of the photo of the investigator's note of things taken from the house that said "pocket bible." Could it be hers? Sorry if this was discussed already.

All IMO.
Jessica Taylor is who I thought of when police retrieved a pocket Bible from the Heuermann house. But, I guess it's possible it belongs to one of the kids, as the documentary shows a photo of Victoria celebrating her Holy Communion as a kid.

It’s difficult to take her word for face value when she was/is living in squalor. That is a form of denial as well as mental instability. There is nothing healthy about living like a hoarder. Self care and hygiene seem to be lacking.

According to the neighbors their house was the only one that was so unkempt. It’s strange that they didn’t notice how the surrounding area looked normal in comparison to theirs. Maintaining property value escaped them. It’s very strange.

Doesn't this mean that the witness who claimed to have gone to the house with her LE boyfriend, who picked up a woman the witness thought was Karen Vargata and took her to a swingers party at the RH home, then left a scared and naked KV -- HAD TO HAVE BEEN MISTAKEN, right? If that was February before Rex and Asa married in April?
Why is that? People who aren’t married can live together.

Some courtroom evidence that has not before been publicly revealed also makes its way into the series, including new information that Heuermann suddenly remodeled the bathroom in his Massapequa Park home days after the disappearance of alleged victim Melissa Barthelemy in 2009.

Ellerup said she was on a five-week vacation with her children in her native Iceland when Heuermann called her with the news that summer.

"He said to me, 'made a big mess, and I have a big surprise for you when you get home,' " Ellerup reveals in the second episode. "He told me he had ripped apart the whole bathroom, and he threw everything out."

Heuermann is due back in court June 17 for a continuation of a suppression hearing regarding DNA evidence in the case. The defense will call its first witness on that date, a court spokesperson said following his most recent court date in April.

BBM:

So did LE know about RH's bathroom remodel before they ripped it apart or is that par for the course when you believe you're dealing with a man who may have killed a woman/women in his home?

remember they still can't run CODIS on Rex-o-roni because he's not convicted. I wish they would try to tie her in. I get goosebumps looking at that crime scene photo. mOO
Ye…..if pizza crust is public property, why isn’t the DNA on it public property? The code I mean AATCAGATCGGCTA…..

Or at the very least, even if there are restrictions to CODIS, as there obviously are, surely the LE who paid for the sequencing of RH-pizza-DNA can reach out to other jurisdictions if they see fit?

Otherwise, this is just such a disservice to the victims and their families. We’re talking years lost, mothers going to their graves without justice being done. Children living with unprocessed traumas for decades..….for what reason?

I’m not saying slap up all sequences from all crimes and have blast-all set up in crontab. It would be nice though.

I’m saying in sk cases perhaps jurisdictional interaction should be more….swift.

What’s most important? That the right suit gets credit or that children grow up with the terrible trauma of their mother’s death compounded by the circumstances which (arguably until recently) has been that their mothers were classified as non-people.

Is Macedonio setting-up AE if she's called by the state to testify if RH goes to trial(s)?

"Of Ellerup’s ongoing doubts about her husband’s guilt,

Ellerup’s lawyer Bob Macedonio said, “Even if Rex is found guilty or pleads guilty, I don’t know if she’ll ever believe that the man she knows was capable of those crimes."
