Gilgo Beach LISK Serial Killer, Rex Heuermann, charged with 7 murders, July 2023 #16

JR isn't representing any of the families of RHs alleged victims.
We’re aware of that and he is always clear about who he represents.

Few attorneys know more about these cases and the history of these investigations than John Ray.

As I’ve said before, were it not for John Ray, the investigation into these murders would never have been completed and Rex Heuermann never would have been arrested. His advocacy kept public pressure on Suffolk PD. It’s still amazing that it took 13 years, when most of the evidence needed to complete the investigation and arrest RH was sitting in the files all along. JMO

Is Macedonio setting-up AE if she's called by the state to testify if RH goes to trial(s)?

"Of Ellerup’s ongoing doubts about her husband’s guilt,

Ellerup’s lawyer Bob Macedonio said, “Even if Rex is found guilty or pleads guilty, I don’t know if she’ll ever believe that the man she knows was capable of those crimes."

I wonder when they’ll be able to set a trial date?

I wonder if this this tv series will be used by Rex’s defense to make claims of unfair pre trial publicity? That will probably come up eventually.

Why is that? People who aren’t married can live together.
True, unmarried couples do live together. The problem would be that since KV was dismembered, it would seem likely AE must have known about RH's activities. Where is it likely KV was dismembered? At the moment, it seems LE believes the women were kept inside the home. In my opinion, for this witness to be right about KV being at the RH home very close in time to her disappearance, then either: LE is wrong about RH working only at home and only when the family was away; or about AE not being involved the the murders.

Ye…..if pizza crust is public property, why isn’t the DNA on it public property? The code I mean AATCAGATCGGCTA…..

Or at the very least, even if there are restrictions to CODIS, as there obviously are, surely the LE who paid for the sequencing of RH-pizza-DNA can reach out to other jurisdictions if they see fit?
How would Suffolk County know which jurisdictions to contact? As I understand things, any LE that has a crime they believe might be connected can already contact Suffolk County for comparison, right? I suspect there are legal hoops to jump through, but if there are other crimes and disappearances anywhere that seem to match and that have DNA samples can have the answers. Getting him into CODIS would make comparisons easier, of course, as not all LE might think their crimes appear similar, but there is a way for that to happen already - as I understand things.

well she's not going to outlive her child and Rex left her plenty to work with. so being "desperate " for that million dollars doesn't ring desperate like needing that 500 dollars to feed a family.
that said she is a victim and lost his incoming and future income and he's not dead so maybe she should get a job? or does she get money as a caregiver? is there something shady about her?

I don't know..I can't judge her and I guess I'll have to watch it. mO

'if' AE was or is on government benefits, she would receive a check and Medicaid for son. She could also get paid for being her son's caregiver. Does anybody know if that's been verified?
Her son receives food stamps, and probably SSI and Medicaid. Asa wouldn't be eligible since she worked, but now that she's become ill that may have changed. Food stamps were verified early on and could only belong to her son since he is the one with a condition making him unable to work full time. Rex, VH and AE all were in good health and working making good money. I tried to apply for assistance in NY, I earned 44K (much less than RH for sure) and was denied based on my "high" income.

I don't remember seeing anything about AE being employeed when RH was arrested.
Her son was said to be or had been employeed through a program for those with disabilities.
At one point in her life she worked in a hospital.
Not sure about her health status today but hopefully she's in remission.

How young was Rex when he married his 1st wife?

Asa states that he was a college student when she met her Prince Charming who rescued her.

Were Rex’s parents hoarders?

Did Rex have a house on the property next door to the brother in South Carolina?

"Heuermann was just 26 when he first married in New Brunswick, New Jersey, according to a 1990 wedding announcement showing him smiling in spectacles in his wedding snap.'

IIRC Divorced 5-1994

Wow, she's had 2 years to process this, and she's still defending him as a "family man." I guess she never heard of Dennis Rader. Does she really think fathering a baby with her makes him unable to be a killer? And she fell in love with him all over again seeing him in jail!?

And what was her point about him smoking a cigar in the garage? Lots of people do that. She seems like a lost cause, unless she gets serious therapy or meds or something. I have hope for Victoria though, and I'm glad Kerri Rawson has reached out to her. I feel so badly for the kids of serial killers. Your entire childhood is turned on its head and all of your good memories are suddenly tainted.

In my experience with social services in NY, employed or not Asa would be considered under Rex's income as his spouse.
Her son is diagnosed with a disability and is eligible regardless of his parents income.

Thank you. I thought Asa said that when she met Rex when she was working at the 7-11 and he was in college.

I think if Asa gives up on Rex, then she has no one. no one but the kids.she thinks they had a normal life and I think she has had a hard life...because she appears to be very damaged.
this feels very Stockholmish to me. mOO

JMO, she seems very defensive of herself. The way she spoke to the news media early on seemed very condescending. She had (and still has) the same superior attitude towards LE and the prosecutor. I think she learned that from Rex.

They strike me as people who lived in an alternate reality with a skewed sense of what is normal or socially acceptable. Rex was just successful enough to think he was a big shot professional and Asa reflects that. JMO, they actually believe they're superior to others. Neighbors report trying to talk to them but getting only a rude attitude in response. Rex and Asa's attitudes about his crimes is just massive denial.

just finished episode 2 and Asa's life seems like the product of chaos, yet she is so cool headed and resigned. I don't know , she doesn't seem so rehearsed in ep2 but still it feels off ... the scene where they talk on the phone with Rex is utterly bizarre.

she is an adopted child who was working at 711. he was a middle class college student...bound for a 6 figure+ career.

it's absolutely shocking to see the deplorable conditions Asa lived in...didn't she wonder what he was doing with all his money? the house is falling down and it's a hoarder house.
I think she was grateful for security, I think she would never question Rex, so she lived in this limited space where she had safety. but then you see her glowing at Rex's voice like it's the voice of Jesus and you have to wonder if she's his hag, his eegor, his witch.

I am convinced Victoria is troubled by things , she doesn't even resemble her younger self. I feel like she has pushed a lot of things down. She is extremely talented and I'm very curious about her interests and if she even knows where she got those particular and peculiar interests that Ray has filled us all in on.

Asa's son doesn't seem nearly as disabled as I imagined from the crying scenes in front of the house.

you have to wonder why they live like poor people in a shack...I wonder if it benefits Asa in any way to appear needy and poor. at the very least this is an eccentric bunch.

mOO
It’s possible Asa is a hoarder as well and some (or a lot) of these items are hers. Maybe that’s what she was doing while Rex was out “hunting.”

MOO

I haven't caught up, yet...But, so you think maybe RH may have stored the victim(s) bodies for any length of time before disposal?
This is going to sound quite grim.

No, I actually think he disposed of them soon after they died.

However, I think he tortured them in such ways that to move the body would immediately leave fluid. I’ll leave that to your imagination.

sure they come off strange...but I have known families kind of like this. Asa could be what we refer to as a covert narcissist. she may live the way she does because she is lazy and doesn't care if Rex doesn't. I don't think they ever threw out anything...and they all stick close together, no one moves out no one attempts to fix it...the kids are fine because there is no expectation on them that they will be neat or orderly or do anything. Victoria has never known any other life it seems. mOO
