"Now that this life in this house is coming to an end, it makes me feel like there's a new beginning," Ellerup said in an interview outside of her home. "What that life is going to be like, I do not know. I will find out eventually, and I will deal with it the best that I can. I did what I had to do to protect myself and my children."

She and her children will be living their best life yet IMO. A brand new wealthy life, while the families of the victims continue to suffer the loss of their loved ones.

Well said...this new life comes at the expense and suffering of others...........Maybe after soul searching and counseling, she will do something to help victims and their families .......side note I know someone who grew up in a very traumatic home (Mother bi-polar schizophrenic and drug addict...Father PTSD/anger issues/and brain damage......He became very adept at tuning things out to the point of not seeing something in front of him like a pile of dirty dishes or "not seeing" something on the ground....tune it out and move forward)......I think AE and the kids were so conditioned to RH and his moods and the fact its his house that he maintains (ok lol eye roll that) that it was a matter of survival.......just my thoughts

Yes no question she was refusing to see it almost obstinately. AE was definitely "off" imo And you can tell VH was struggling with it all - at the end it said she had basically come to terms with the fact that she believed her father was guilty. That being said she is definitely odd herself and did not seem like someone who would have an active social circle, boyfriend etc which makes this somehow even sadder in a way, if her family/father was her main support system (purely speculative) Hopefully she is able to get some of the money from this to get the extensive therapy, recovery she will likely need and she is able to separate herself from all of it and build a new more functional support system for herself. BTK's daughter also seemed a bit odd to me as well, but she definitely had her own functioning life apart which may have helped her. Perhaps she will be a good support system for VH.
I agree with all except BKT's daughter Kerri Rawson being a good support.
KR pushes the Jesus train and sees every opportunity that arises as money grab.
She had a NYTs best seller, another book,a documentary, has a $$$ booking agent for interviews and speeches, loves the camera and still has a fundraiser going all in the name of being an advocate for victims.
I find everything about KR distasteful.
imo

Denial and minimization are human coping mechanisms for sure. Although 25+ years of seeing nothing and hearing nothing and smelling nothing and sensing nothing is very hard for me to make sense out of. The biggest turn-off for me is hearing zero sympathy for the victims from AE or her adult daughter, not even an acknowledgement of the pain the families must be dealing with through all of this. IMO MOO.

that is major deflection on their ! I'd love to hear her try to blame the victims...but of course AE doesn't believe RH did anything !
holy moly its chilling isn't it ???

I don't particularly get a great vibe from KR either but it would seem that there aren't many people in the same shoes to turn to..Maybe there is someone else? IDK I don't see VH "gelling" with alot of people as she seemed to have her own social awkwardness, so hopefully it would be someone who could provide her understanding in a manner that is not negative. Regardless she is going to need someone so hopefully she is able to find a more positive introduction into her life and is able to heal/build something better then she had.

Rex knows Codis is coming for him. He can't be sure what they have or don't have. What victims produced evidence, which ones wouldn't . I am very concerned over his procurement of materials depicting children. I am concerned about 13 cold years since the last victim and the new roads he could have veered down. I wonder what materials and searches and phones he was using during this time..

his properties in SC, etc...his activities, He knows Codis covers anything, everywhere... I really think he murdered quite a few more...maybe the Atlantic City four...maybe there is another beach area we haven't even thought of..

so he knows Codis is coming..he pleads guilty now and gets a deal on further prosecutions. I still think he has victims in SC.
and that's a DP State...I don't think NY can keep him if he killed in a DP state ...they will have to extradite him.
maybe with a great deal of urging , maybe working with a writer , maybe for fame and infamy he will eventually name more of his victims

you don't think he actually stopped, do you?

mOO
It does appear Rex was very meticulous about avoiding leaving evidence.

Not meticulous enough, but he was careful.

Interesting dates, March 27th shows up 2X and both litigations need approval by a judge.
Did RH plan this or just a coincidence?

"A divorce settlement has been reached between suspected Long Island Serial Killer Rex Heuermann and his estranged wife Asa Ellerup — even though Ellerup thinks her ex-husband is "not capable" of committing the crimes he's accused of.

The settlement was reached on Thursday, March 27 but it still needs to be finalized by a Suffolk County judge, ABC News reported.'

god only knows what all he has been up to.. 13 blank years...won't be surprised if something comes out. they really need to study him...he could have been doing something completely different...not killing at home, not grouping victims together, disposing in a new way, or the same way ( Atlantic City 4)...killing on highways, outside with his truck, lurking in parks ( he was reported doing this more recently)...bringing victims to construction sites late at night or even during the day on weekends etc, when there is no work going on. They could have victims in downtown Manhattan, so many projects everywhere..pop over the bridge, dump in Brooklyn..

there is no way he just stopped. mOO

Once his dumping location was identified, he found another location. He didn't stop. Jmo.

I don't understand how they can suddenly exihibit self control...but didn't BTK stop for awhile and then restart supposedly?

For years, the suspect known as LISK remained unidentified - until 2023, when police arrested an architect, husband, and father accused of nearly unthinkable acts of violence. Now, with a potential guilty plea looming, Senior Investigative Reporter Anne Emerson revisits how the Gilgo Beach killings were first uncovered. Joined by Investigative Reporter Kristin Thorne who has covered the case since the initial discoveries, part one of this interview breaks down the origins of the Long Island Serial Killer investigation and what could come next in this shocking case.

well we can guess or maybe its written about ...

middle age?
finally went too far and got spooked.
feels addicted out of control
afraid luck will run out
almost got caught
feels some semblance of guilt or something bordering on it
ED , depression, loss of interest in sexual pursuit

would be interesting to know if the ones that stopped killing for long periods were killers with families, growing children etc.

Rex saw countless sex workers, I would be so interested in their stories about him. I don't think Rex ever thought he was caught...so why would he stop? he would just have to switch things up. what it seems might be harder is for him to do everything he wants to do and enjoys without his beloved basement murder house that was so comfortable and private.

we also know he likes to hunt , maybe he has some trail killings or kills out in the woods.

so you kind of have to think in terms of what he will do if he doesn't have hours on end to torture and kill, or what the places are that could work..Rex had other homes or property. South Carolina is one..Did he have a trailer somewhere?

would love to see all his calendars to see where he was going , what all he had on his daily schedules, things like that.

I still think he murdered Shannan...and I hope he confesses to all his murders.

It sure is interesting timing for a coincidence.

That’s always what I wonder about the ones in jail. Have any known serial killers gone on murderous rampages (or even killed just one person) after they were incarcerated ?

Presumably there’s a lack of ‘easy’ victims, but still, it seems to indicate they can control their impulses for a variety of reasons. They just choose not to, if they don’t have to.

A week or so ago I had posted about being on the fence about will RH go to trial or plea.
When addressing him going to trial I questioned how he would respond to seeing the evidence against him, his list, his trophies, photos of the victims etc and not be able to do anything about it but sit there and take it.
I tried but couldn't even begin to imagine what would be taking place in his mind and body when he had no release valve.

Sorry if this has already been said,

I'm shocked he's pleading guilty.

I figured he'd really enjoy a trial.. Similar to how Gacy 'didn't remember' any of what he did...

Completely freaked out by his decision to do this. I mean, he has zero chance of winning, but the sadist in him seems like he'd actually enjoy the agony he'd inflict on others with the trial. Don't think he's ashamed, remorseful, trying to protect anyone-- except himself. I think he's scared of something.

Wondering if AE will be falling in love with him all over again as he allocutes.

He used to have "dinner with wife" in his little organizer. Now it can be "dinner with other murderers who thankfully aren't as big as me."
