Gilgo Beach LISK Serial Killer, Rex Heuermann, charged with 7 murders, July 2023 #17

I just watched the docuseries on Peacock. That was very well done, imo. I really can't believe he got away with it for over 30 years. I do wish they had delved into his family, was he an only child? Do we know anything about his upbringing?

Judge Richard Ambro, in a Friday order, granted the defense request to compare unknown genetic material found at the scene of one of the murders Bittrolff is convicted of to a profile of Heuermann, who is currently charged in the 1993 killing of Sandra Costilla, a case Bittrolff was previously a suspect in.

Ambro wrote that the presence of the unknown DNA "has the potential to create a reasonable probability that the verdict could have been more favorable to the defendant had such evidence been made available to the jury and proved to have originated from Rex Heuermann."

Whoa! WHOA...

Will be waiting to see the results of that.

I don't think we'll get anything on this front for a while. Peacock had permission to make their documentary. I totally understand if extended family don't want to get involved. The only benefit would be for us nosey true crime folk.

''Rex Heuermann has pleaded not guilty to all charges related to the murders of the seven sex workers and is expected back in court on December 17.''

''Heuermann's defense had requested the cases be broken up.

The Suffolk County Prosecutor's Office said last week that it's ready for trial.

"For a whole host of reasons, the court is not going to sever the trial. The indictment as well as the superseding indictments remain intact as to all victims and charges," said Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney. "And then we had a very productive conference. Defense asserts they have a number of motions they wish to file. The judge gave the defense time to do that. As prosecutors, we anticipate those motions being fairly extensive."

''Judge Mazzei did not set a trial date, pending the additional defense motions. The next court date for Heuermann is January 13, 2026.''

When exactly is the trial?( Thank you to all the organized people who do better at keeping track and aren’t as lazy and disorganized as I am.) Does it seem to be way more delayed than most?

Long Island cold case murder: Andrew Dykes arrested in connection to death of victim known as 'Peaches' - ABC7 New York Man arrested, facing murder charges linked to Long Island cold case victim 'Peaches': sources
For those not following Tanya's thread, the arrested is the biological father of Tatiana, who was called Toddler Doe. So, not RH, just another creep like Chris Watts deciding to kill his whole family, including a baby who in no possible way could have been a threat to him, because she couldn't have verbalised anything she witnessed him do to her mother.

Plot twist...
I really wasn't expecting this.

Thinking back to how close he was to Valerie Mack, it's incredible how two different men made the same choice of landfill...
Could this be a simple coincidence?
If Mack's killer wasn't RH, it would truly be a highway of death, like sweet nectar for Beelzebub's flies...
Or perhaps RH had searched the area, as he himself confides in his files among the things to do, and had already found the remains of these victims who weren't his, given that their deaths are attributed to before Mack's, hoping to throw off the possibility of their discovery?!
Speak up, don't be shy, too many days have passed in silence...
I'm joking, trying to lighten the mood...
This case is getting a bit complicated, and could this event help the defense's theory?!
Despite this, I am always happy when a piece of truth emerges from the depths and happy for those people who knew the victims and will be able to have some peace.

I doubt the non-RH victims will be brought up in court by either side. They are irrelevant to the charges he is facing. It doesn't help the defense (other than to know their client won't be charged for Tanya and Tatiana murders).

Unless there’s a connection between the two. RH and AD.

Not likely, but possible. That would possibly be bad for RH in the event of a AD plea deal.

But l don’t think it’s very likely.
