@TootsieFootsie I'm sorry you lost a beloved and humble voice.

Totally not my favorite genre of music be it country or folk. I knew Ms. Griffith's voice from Austin City Limits. Such a talent and so pretty.

Totally love her version of Townes Van Zandt's "Tecumseh Valley". Ya want a good cry Ms. Griffith hands it to you.

Thanks Filly!

I grew up listening to all types of music. I guess it rubbed off on me and I passed it on to my daughter too.I have favourites in everything, from pop, alternative, folk, country, jazz, dance, electronic, rock, metal, opera, bal musette, classical, world, and much more.

I actually myself don't put music into a category.

And far from Nanci Griffith's music making me cry, it actually makes my heart feel happy. I was very depressed once and couldn't find one thing to be happy about, I was in the blackest of holes, and it was discovering her music, through a newspaper review, plus reading all of Agatha Christie's books, that got me out of the black hole I was in.

Nanci Griffith's "The Flyer" is sheer perfection, s is "on Grafton Street" (for a great cry, do that one in the wintertime.) I have her Pandora channel on my phone and it's my music to walk to in the late afternoons. She sure could evoke a personal memory with so many of her songs.
