She should have lots of scrapes from being dragged by a car - we haven't heard anything like that yet from the coroner.

I think this was a straight forward abduction, torture, murder, but maybe he doesn't want to admit that at the age of 27 he's very interested in sexually assaulting 60 year old women.

At around 2:20-2:35 the reporter says that *perhaps/maybe she was killed inside the car* (my translation only)

and (my opinion only) it seems we're getting different versions from the Greek sources on whether he confessed to killing her before or after putting her in the vehicle.
and we're getting different versions on the vehicle. An earlier report mentioned pick-up truck, but this reporter says "car." (my translation only)

A news bulletin just said that he often felt the urge to knock women over with his car, which is crazy, meaning we're not even sure he physically raped her at all. He was quoted as saying "I saw her and wanted to knock her over, I often get this urge with women". I don't have a link for that yet. I think they were holding back information about injuries sustained from being hit by a car to make sure they got the right guy when he gives them the details of what he did to her.

What I don't understand is, if his motive was sexual as he claims why would he run her over several times? Unless he's a necrophiliac it wouldn't serve his fantasy.

Either he's lying and he didn't run her over but took her alive, or his motive wasn't sexual but rather out of a deep hate for women. It all sounds rather frantic, hitting her with the car, stabbing her, then the struggle of suffocation ... a huge outburst of hate!

Maybe this was lost in translation and what they meant was, his motive was gender-related.

Anyway, I hope he gets locked away for a long time.

This reminds me of the Sierah Joughin case. Sierah was riding a bicycle to her home on a rural road when the perp purposely hit her from behind with his truck and attempted to abduct her. She fought very hard and died from suffocation as well. When the suspect was caught they found he had been arrested previously for hitting another woman with his car and trying to abduct her-- only that first victim had survived. The man had a room in his barn where it looked like he was prepared to hold a woman captive and there has been much speculation he is a serial killer but no other victims have been identified. All this to say, I think a plan to hit a woman with a car and take her captive after that is not an original idea. This man who killed Dr Eaton has apparently been dreaming of doing this for a long time. He may have followed cases of other serial killers with an interest and thought that plan would work for him. He is a very sick individual and I hope he is put in prison for the rest of his life.

(my opinion only) we're getting variations with these Greek sources, so it's hard to determine right now. One possible interpretation/theory is that he intended to rape the victim, but was unable to do so because she fought back. And we don't have info yet regarding if he did in fact rape the victim. (just my opinion)

The perp's face has been posted (pixelated) by one of the major websites, and his full name is being circulated off the record. If that is him, he's a relatively normal-looking, athletic guy. Very short hair, stubble. Nothing too strange about his looks. He's got a YouTube channel where we see him exploring nature, caves and bunkers , including the Kolymbari bunkers. People are already starting to leave nasty comments under his videos.

He's big into technology, drones, exploration, snake-hunting, parachuting, paratriking, driving some weird bikes/cars/karts, constructing and experimenting with weapons. A weirdo alright. His spelling is dreadful. There's a couple of videos of him with his kid

It doesn't seem farfetched to me. IMO rape isn't about obtaining sexual pleasure, it's an assertion of power and control (probably by someone who is still scared of his Mommy or other mental problems). A particular woman is chosen just because she's an easy target, but she stands in for all women to a predator.

You only have to look at ads for vehicles targetted to men to see that cars are very much associated with with masculine power, control, and sexual dominance. These ads never show, for eg, a woman driving a big truck.

I'm aware everytime a truck/suv rushes up behind my compact car and impatiently and dangerously passes me, that driving is a very aggressive activity to some people.

Sadly, Dr. Eaton happened to be out jogging just when this guy came along and he saw it as an 'opportunity' to carry out a long-held fantasy. Well, he had his little thrill and now will pay, but nowhere near the price she did.

Just learning about the arrest. So tragic and senseless....so it sounds like it was indeed an opportunistic assault by a local psycho. Just awful. Poor Dr Eaton, just horrible.

I assumed it was going to be a random local maniac.
