Can someone explain the Lisa Irwin issue that's been mentioned regarding a birth certificate?

I found a link. It was purported that a debit card number was used at a UK based website to change a baby's name without a birth certificate or something of the sort:

" Maria " seems to be the standard name.

She has blue eyes. We talked about this up thread. Official media and posters all say Blue. It makes a difference unfortunately. I can see why one might think green in some of the pictures. My eyes are blue and change hue with mood and what I wear. They can go grey or green but are usually deep blue. MOO

okay yeah. looked again and she def has blue eyes. i think it helps that her eyes are smaller tho because it makes her distinctive. she almost looks sami to me... could be sami finnish?

another version, they met a Bulgarian mother accidentally in a supermarket and they allowed to help her as they felt sorry for her for not having enough money to raise her child ...
assumed that the child is of Bulgarian origin.

According to police the girl had been kidnapped immediately after birth, presumably in 2009.

The article linked above was a write up based on other media. Very bad reporting. Looks to me like they took a guess at eye color.

I'm wondering, to me the younger picture looks like it was dyed (henna?) and the older her natural color. Also, in my family most of us were born with a lot of hair and very dark, some almost black, but as that is lost it comes in blonde. One of my sisters had nearly white hair but was born with a full head of dark brown/black hair. I don't know how rare this is or if it is, but it's the opposite of what typically happens. She appears a bit too old in her younger pic for this to be the case, but IDK.

The hair thing was the same in my family as well. Born dark, turned blonde and by the 40s back to dark.

The main source of income from children is that the so-called parents were able to claim child support for her. that's why they had different identities and so many children registered to their name. An alien concept for the Americans on this board, most if not all European countries will pay you a certain monthly sum for each child toward their upkeep. In Germany, you'd get about EUR 400 (over $ 500) a month for two children. With more than 10 children registered to their name you do the math, even if they get substantially less in Greece. That explains the incentive to have many children, the income from the begging is not the primary motivation.

O/T- Wait....in European countries do you get monthly support money for your kids regardless of your income? Like even if you're middle class?

Kids are expensive. If I ever have one maybe we need to move to Europe.

If this child wasn’t born in Greece, I’m thinking that she either came from Eastern Europe or Northern Europe.

If she came from Eastern Europe, I'm thinking of the former Soviet bloc nations, such as Albania, Romania, or the former Yugoslavia.

If she came from Northern Europe, I'm thinking of Scandinavia, such as Denmark, Finland, Norway, or Sweden.

Has it been revealed what language or languages this child speaks or understand?

Since she was found in Greece, I'd have to suggest Macedonia as a strong possibility.

Her eyes are not small or squinty. She has normal sized eyes. If she is squinting in the photo is likely because there is light shined into her face.
