I agree this forum has become 3 times worse that IS boards and Topix combined. If I wanted to hear everybody in this case called
b@$ch and worse I would have stayed with Topix. I thought the posts here were more mature but the posts with vomit and spit at the end makes me wonder the age and education level of the poster. We have not been given any forensic results and there fore can not say without a doubt that Caylee is not still alive. The bond for Casey is already set at a ridicules level for the crimes she is charged with. At this point I can only say very happy I do not live in Florida.
I think the posts here
ARE more mature. I've read other forums, and if one believes that there's a ting of disbelief and anger here, then checking the local Orlando media message boards is a must IMO to dispell that notion. Most of them are outraged and it shows.
The words "strange", "bizarre", and "weird" were all used pretty frequently for the last 4 weeks. With this new twist regarding Padilla and his merry band of bond money, the new words you see repeated since 5 PM today are "disgusted", "appalled", "speechless", and "angry." And I have seen criticisms of the Anthony's new spokesman, but who am I to complain about him because I'm glad they GOT one even though I think he has a hell of a job ahead of him and I wish him luck for the familys' sake.
No, we haven't been given any forensic evidence Caylee is dead, however nobody's (either side) proven she's alive either. She's missing. That's an even argument that won't be resolved until we have more information from LE -and that's, IMO, where believe the facts will come eventually. For me, they won't be from Jose Baez, they won't be from the Anthony family or their spokesperson, and they also won't be from the bondboy.
The bail set for Casey is high...however it is high in limits with the law not only of Florida, but also in the US Bail Reform Act of 1984. I think it does allow for this type of scenario (or worse, no bond) when the person being charged, for example, as a flight risk. Another condition it allows is for if the defended is charged with obstruction of justice, yet she's only been charged with making false statements to police. (I think differently from others in media and print this week who thought she'd get charged with more charges and those would related to theft. I say they'll focus on an obstruction charge, and that charge alone can keep her from having bail under current law.)
I will say this: judges do not make bail that high without knowing they have legal precedence which has stood up in court prior. Excessive or not, I do believe that Baez knew in advance bail was going to be an issue and he needed to present a compelling law argument to convince the court it wasn't. He didn't and here's what we have now.
