Greta Van Susteran - On The Record - 01-02-2009

There are so many bizarre details to this case that I am sure we will never understand. The whole gas can story is one that baffles me...in the beginning I thought it was relevant because she possibly use them on Caylee (sorry, I hate to say that), now I just don't know why the A's made such a big deal of it. Was it to steer us away from something else that was going on at that time?

Here we go with the "feels right in my gut"..so sick of hearing that...I don't think I have ever used the term gut in my life.

Patty G, thank you for the links.
I have also been looking for the interview the Anthony's did with Greta..searched, searched and searched..
Is that link in the media thread?

Jailhouse calls and now Pam Bondi and Jeff Brown. This was recorded earlier........just after Caylee's remains were found.

I listened intently tonight to that portion of the interview Greta had with George and Cindy last August. I hope to hear something in that interview that I had missed......something to make me go "ah-ha!" But, there's nothing new, and I do think that there was something important that happened on June 24th.

At some point in a horrid case like this it makes you wonder...if the defense atty. suddenly realizes his client did the horrible deed....how in the heck can he ever sleep at night especially if he is a father.

I have wondered that myself so many times in the past. A good friend of mine is a local defense attorney and says that he doesn't ask if they are guilty or not, and very rarely do they tell. Since its up to the SA to prove guilt, all he has to do is defend.. He's a good guy, but I wonder myself, how he sleeps at night.. Sometimes it seems that there should be a thin line between career and right from wrong. I must give it to any defense attorney..they have more guts than I.

There's really nothing new........it's a recap of events since last July

Yes you are right and I totally understand their position...but in a case so horrid so unbelievable that a mother could do this....there sure could come a time when something she says or does or he discovers makes him realize he might just be defending a monster.....and that is when I begin to wonder how on earth they can do a complete job....looks like you would almost want to screw up your defense in order to just get out from under such a horrific event.

I noticed tonight on Greta with Cindy & George, everytime Greta asked Cindy a question about the cadaver dogs Cindy scratched behind her ear??? when disputing the hits!

Also when they were on the couch ,& George was speaking about the day of the gas cans, I thought Cindy was going to gouge his leg as she was watching him answer.....so nervous!! She was scrathing behind her ear again!!

The big question about the day of Casey giving George the F%%%% gas cans, is George was asking about the wedge he needed that was bolted down in the trunk of Casey's car. she apparently threw the gas cans at him, but he never addressed the question of the wedge???

O/T but this is slow so I thought I would share...Last night my 12 yr old son laid down on my lap while I was watching NG (huge shock to me because he is so sick of my addiction to this case!), I thought he was just being sweet because we were going snowboarding this morning...lol! Imagine my surprise and sadness when at the end of the show when Caylee sings her song, I heard a sniffle (for once it wasn't mine), he was crying and said he was so sad for her and he would like to find a way for him and I to get into Caseys cell and make her tell the truth! God, I love my son!!!

I always had the feeling that Caylee was in the trunk at that moment. I should post this in the GA Inconsistency thread, but in one interview he said he never looked in the trunk, yet on another he told them about a container in the trunk.

I had never seen that interview with CA in the Anthony home. Where have I been? LOL! Anyways, that story about who Caylee's father is, I don't believe that for a second. It just sounds so made up. And, knowing how Miss Casey lies...

YES! Why does he want to focus on the outer cusp of the situation? These interviews from both CA and GA seemed to sound like my favorite opera...me me me me...at first I thought they were starving to talk to someone other than each other (not that they ever really did obviously) but now I see it as more obfuscation.
Why didn't he go after the wedge? Why did he notice on the 9th, then the 16th that KC was wearing the same slacks found in the car a month later?
Why did CA tell GVS the dogs were hitting inconsistently? Scratching her ear? Great observation!

I think GA was using the wedges as an excuse to get into the trunk. The wedge was not really in the trunk. IMO

It was interesting that everytime GVS asked a question that CA seemed reluctant to answer anything -- it came across as a paranoia that she might say the wrong thing.

Also, the answer on the spade to dig up bamboo was obviously ridiculous -- so the princess was so frustrated by the encroaching bamboo in the garden that she felt compelled to go borrow a shovel from the neighbors and not wait till her parents were home.

Ha!!!! KC couldn't even care for Caylee and ensure she had all of her needs met never mind tend to the garden. How crazy do you think we are?

In hindsight the statements do take on a new light, even though the inconsistent hits, the spade and, the gas cans were striking from day one!!!! Absolutely.

Ok LancelotLink, Why were those slacks still in the car? Apparently they were the ones George had last seen Casey wearing on June 16th, when she was going to work:waitasec::confused: & they were still in the car after it was towed & were the ones that Cindy washed:confused::bang::bang:

So, she left the house on the 16th, waited for George to leave for work, returned to the house, flurry of calls, only 1 hr of no phone calls, is seen on surveillance tape at blockbuster in shorts & tank top, with TL renting a movie.

If she changed her clothes at home before going to Tony's, why bring those grey pants with her, & leave in the car for a month?

No he didn't address the wedge. But in his interview with the FBI, George did say that he was suspicious and he made up that story about needing to get in Casey's trunk to get the wedge, as a means for looking in the trunk.

I think every witness should be interviewed because of all that has come to light. Most of the taped/recorded interviews were back in the summer, where no one could "believe" that Casey could do anything to her. Or at least it was all accidental. Now as everyone's collectives heads are putting it all together....maybe more will emerge. More interviews should be done, imo.
