Clicking through newspaper archives today and found three instances of the Grimes Canyon area in Ventura County as the location of shallow graves of murdered women, two unidentified at the time of the articles, one identified as murder victim Delores Ruggiero, still a cold case as of this time.
May 1984: Firefighters working an active wildfire in the canyon stumble across a shallow grave containing a decomposed female who had “been dead up to 4 months.
December 1984:

I’m planning to see if I can find anything else about the Jane Does, like if they’re no longer unidentified, as well as looking for similar cases in the area between ‘84 and ‘99, but at a glance it looks a lot like someone’s dump site of choice.
