I’m not as educated with this case as others but wouldn’t it be possible that RH didn’t necessarily stop, he just changed his "dumping area" or quite possibly his "disposal methods"? Forgive me if my choice of words are in poor taste. I know that’s a horrible thing to ponder & likely zero evidence pointing to it at this point but it shouldn’t be an unreasonable idea. 2010 is around the time his preferred area for disposal was under quite a bit more scrutiny. A change may have been mandatory if he wished to keep doing his evil deeds. Utter speculation.

Read my next post after this one,😃 Im with ya on the alternative dump site. It’s possible, I dont know how you do that for 30 yrs and then stop cold turkey. What happened?

Ah, I skimmed right over it!😞 No harm in a bit of reiteration, I suppose.😉

I won’t be surprised if more victims are found at some point down the road. I tend to think as you in that a killer such as this guy likely just doesn’t stop barring coming close to being caught somehow. Only the monster can answer those types of questions. The answers might surprise us, as people such as that are definitely wired quite differently to say the least.

Former FBI agent Geraldine Hart took over after Burke. She made some progress, but not a great deal. She’s the one who released the photos of Heuermann’s belt to the public, hoping someone would recognize it.

There were also problems at the prosecutor’s office that continued to stall things.

Rodney Harrison really saved these cases. He took charge and created a multi jurisdictional task force. The rest is history.

Someone was being interviewed about this the other day. The FBI did a lot of work on this case over the years. They gathered a lot of data and gave it to Suffolk County PD, but they didn’t use it. They were low-tech and didn’t like using computer data analysis.
In the conversation with Rodney Harrison and the CBS News NY team, he clarified something we've wondered about -- the mention of the green Avalanche by one of AC's roommates. While Suffolk County had the clue, Harrison said the woman who tied them together had a different data base that also gave them the name, as I understood him.

If I recall, the conversation with Harrison started at the 27.30 minute mark of that long video that is available on YouTube.

The cases RH admitted to show what I consider the evolution of his method. Like you, I'm not nearly as informed as so many here who have followed the case closely. So, my thinking is prob. quite different.

I suspect the "at home" and basement torture and killing developed as he aged and his own taste for "more" evolved. The bodies wrapped in duck-hunting camo burlap were the ones he was actually caught on. Perhaps he did take a break after their discovery. Then, when nothing happened, he would have likely picked back up. Since he was aging and his methods changing, I'm wondering just where because I think the killings of his youth were quite different from the last ones.

I may be the only one here who thinks that earlier victims may have been taken on the duck hunting boat and placed in very remote areas. I still think that's a possibility, given Sandra Castilla. I doubt they were killed on the boat, but given a "date" experience of successful architect showing off his boat and luring them into remote locations. Am I remembering correctly that he invited some women he worked with or knew to go shooting and/or hunting with him?

As he aged and read -- say Dr. Holmes and others -- he wanted to experiment and set up the basement area.

Personally, I very much doubt the full extent of RH will ever be known . Unless somewhere in all his documentation, he kept complete records. Or unless, his massive ego leads him to detail everything he remembers in order to awe people with his superiority in the field. Even then, I doubt we'll ever get it all.

eta: I have just recalled from the Bounty Towel story a few posts upthread, he did keep a square of that towel in his desk drawer after all this time. From 2010 to 2023. So, who knows what else the State has on him?

At least, according to the plea agreement, he has to serve his life sentences consecutively, not concurrently. I hope he's not eligible for parole, either. Kind of unusual plea agreement when the prosecution had so much evidence against him.

ETA: There are 3 first degree murder charges to be served consecutively, so it seems pretty likely he will be in prison for life.
I thought so too Betty P....have been going over this again and again....I'm thinking he's covering for people bc I doubt RH is providing such compelling info to the FBI.....truly RH is going to enjoy his interviews with the FBI

Does anyone know if after a guilty plea or verdict that a person eventually decides to come clean, knowing they’re never getting out again? I don’t get the sense that RH ever wanted his despicable crimes to come to light, mostly due to his career and business reputation, but now that he’s going away, I think he will crave the attention and notoriety of being a prolific and cunning SK. As time goes on they learn how to hone their skills, the thrill doesn't go away and needs to be fed , somehow I doubt he stopped cold turkey especially without the come down of prison in the interm

all very plausible......RH may have disposed of victims in the Peconic River as well as the side of the LIE, Sunrise Hgwy, Montauk Hgwy......there are hunting grounds as well as hiking trails......

I also can see him not wanting AE & VH to know about all the evil, horrific details of what he did and if indeed he did bring his victims into his house while he tortured, dismembered, and murdered them while AE/family were vacationing.

This puts AE/family in a factual position of how on earth can they stay in the house and his admittance could also affect the value of the house /property if she chooses to sell.

Then it comes to AE visiting him in jail/prison and this could have been the wake-up call AE needed to finally stop pretending he's her "hero" and not capable of doing these horrendous crimes.
It wouldn't surprise me if she'll still be visiting him in the Suffolk jail, she's got a few months until June 17th sentencing.
We'll see how his guilty plea to murdering 8 women by strangulation sits with her.
imo
