Tori looked like my daughter at that age, with her blonde hair and blue eyes. The photo of her with her whimsical scarf reminded me so much of my daughter as she loved pretty scarves too. She loved shiney and pretty things at that age. Little girl parties with her friends, dresses and tights. You could not miss the sparkle that Tori had. The same sparkle her father has in his eyes. Who could not be touched by the photo of Tori with her arms wrapped tightly around her mother's neck, the smiles on both of them from ear to ear. This child was so loved...and so loving. Her mom had just finished re-decorating her room and Tori was to have her friends over. Her parents enjoyed Tori. So sad to have lost her and all of the memories left to come.

There is a photo of Rodney and Darren and Rodney looks so excited in it and I think he is going to hug Darren. You can see in that one photo the excitement is contagious for Darren. Interesting. In that one photo. I can see he is a "good kid". A blessing. It is in his eyes.

I finished planting my gardens and yes one is all purple and is full of shiney flapping butterflies on stakes to remember Tori. Happy Mother's Day everyone. I feel so blessed and fortunate as a mother and in my life. The sun is coming up; it is going to be a great day. :)

WELL DONE, CANADA!!!

I would like to apologize to the mods for my unsavory behavior. If its any consolation, I spent most of my childhood grounded for the very same thing!

I am off to a tropical paradise that will be so much sweeter now that I know MR won't be hurting any more children.

It was a so nice to go through this with all of you who also wanted justice for Tori. Thanks for putting up with me. Great people!

There was also a comment that said 'if MTR is found guilty, it will be the greatest injustice ever' or something of that sort.

I was pretty adamant in my belief that he was guilty, but I don't think I ever made such strong comments in my belief, except maybe after reading the above comment.

I was very adamant he was guilty...:maddening: guilty guilty guilty and go to :jail: you nasty piece of work. :floorlaugh:

I'm still dancing in my chair today. SO FREAKING HAPPY.

wow, interesting article, defintely don't want anyone serving solitare being out in society again

wondering if they are allowed tv, radio? what do they do in there for 23 hours everyday, like other then sleep & use the toilet????

Just a guess but i would think just trying to stay sane LOL TV, books and wrtiting materials are allowed. The small confinement must be harrowing. Described as being in a closet with a light bulb over your head. I like it!!!!!

Thanks for posting this.

Further to my 'grateful' post above, this really highlights the impact on journalists of covering these horrendous trials. In the quote below, it relates to covering the Bernardo trial.

I heard that many journalists waiting outside the courthouse last night let out a cheer when the verdict was announced. And, of course, there are others who were 'subjected' to the disturbing details of the case (like courthouse staff, legal teams, etc.) To all of you, I hope you find a measure of peace. We think of the jurors. We think of the family. We thank LE for their diligence. But these people and more are affected by the case.

So very true. Journalists cant help but be affected. They become friendly with the Families,The Lawyers etc. They live and breathe it for the duration. I think they have the tougher side. Lawyers can block out the emotional ugly. Journalist cant. The facts and the emotional side is what they report on. So yes kudos to them. Oh and your welcome.

I don't believe Derstine is a villain either. I never could understand how defense lawyers could defend people like this when they know damn well they're guilty. I mean, some one accused of theft, B&E, whatever but defending someone who you know raped and killed a child. Can't wrap my head around that.

I think in order to defend these types one has to have a strong faith in the belief everyone deserves a fair trial. Some can block out facts better than others. I am just grateful somebody can do it. Grateful i live in a Country everyone is entitled to a fair trial. MOO

Happy Mother's Day to Tara and all the beautiful moms!

I am DEFINITELY driving to woodstock for the candle vigil next Saturday May 19, 2012 and last I heard it is set for 7;30 ...They will be launching PURPLE ballons possibly but must check environmental concerns.I am looking into getting t shirts with Purple writing saying" We support the TORI Law!"...thinking of getting different people to sign t shirts as there are peope coming form all over the Ont. I saw an awesome news broadcast on CP 24 news last night ...Police comissioner from Woodstock thanked our ONt Provincial police and outreach workers who were around 1,000 people or more and he said people worked lots of overtime past there shifts and volunteers as their first goal in the early investiagtion was to bring Tori home safely....after he spoke the Mayor of woodstock spoke how this affected their community deeply and hopes they will all now beable to STArt the hard road to healing ....now that JUSTICe ahs been served.....on computer www.cp24.com....maybe it has been posted???.....thanks if someone could post it if it is not here ???...Very kind healing thoughts for all affected as I see & read how we all feel ....lots of hugs for everyone who stuck together here for the past 3 years....I feel like we all have become good friend....tweeting rock'in robin...smile robynhood! xxxxoooo and hugs to you all who definitely supported me & this whole website ....gratefully thankful I have found you all it sich a sterssful time ...again robynhood....we shared so many inner thoughts ..thks again!!!

Tuesday....along with victim impact statements....MR also gets a chance to speak if he chooses....IMO the coward will remain quiet.

He didn't speak at his trial. JMO, but I doubt he will speak at his sentencing, he couldn't even look Det. Smyth in the face at his interrogation, he is a coward, more so for the heinous crime on a defenseless little girl.
At some point he will have to end the denial and come to terms with what he did. Whimpering at his sentencing like he did at his interrogation would be a start. If he ever wants to get out on parole, he'll have to feign remorse at his parole hearing.
