The bit in Parker's report about the bartender being told Randy's buddy was outside in a car passed out has piqued my interest. For the cab driver to confirm that RAT pointed at a red car, but cab driver seeing noone in it further piques it.

It sounds like RAT is consciously creating alibi's here, but was the car the Caprice and was cornrow guy in it passed out? Cornrow guy is going to be a huge witness in this case and it is going to be interesting what he has to say.

What is it with RAT hanging about with younger people? He was also hanging around with two younger males when Samantha went missing. It is certainly making me think there is a 'ring' of sorts close to both cases.

Did he really do this crime alone?

You know what bugs me about these articles? They lead off with "Cashier Testifies Alexis Murphy, Randy Taylor Talked" as if she knew him and was just chatting with him, when really, it appears he spoke to her, which caused her to talk to him.

"The cashier testified that she watched Murphy walked out the store and turn her head as if someone was saying something to her. She said she then she saw Murphy walk over to Taylor's camo colored SUV and talk to him."

Then Slaybaurg says that "The defense has done a good job thus far of poking holes in the prosecutions case." I didn't see any of that in anything that was written, except by him. Even what he wrote didn't really show any holes being poked. Maybe some attempts at it, but epically failing, IMO.

His comment "FBI agents who searched the camper the first time say they are quite sure the bloody shirt wasn't in there when they searched it the first time. " is only written elsewhere as "Randy Taylor's defense attorney stopped short of accusing investigators of planting that shirt under the couch, saying they missed it during the first search and that they had locked the trailer up after Taylor's arrest." Those two statements are not remotely similar. Was there no one else in the courtroom to hear actual FBI agents testify that they were quite sure the bloody shirt was not there when they searched the first time?

Where is the actual reporting, where they use real quotes instead of interpreted spins? I wonder if anyone is recording this trial...I'd sure like to see what really happened in the courtroom.

Parker also said castings of tire tracks were not made. This article says they did.

Investigators Searching Piece of Land Connected to Alexis Murphy Disappearance

They're at the same property investigators visited last week where they found tire tracks. Monday, officials took a casting of that track to compare to the tires on Taylor's truck. The land owner says that officials confirmed the track on his property did NOT match that of suspect Randy Taylor's truck.

Makes sense since RAT is throwing Corn Row guy under the bus. (IMO)

Makes you wonder if it was spotless when they found it, being as RAT was a car detailing type of guy. Perhaps Defense is trying to make out that the car was spotless to begin with, so no big deal if it was spotless when it was found. (Being as the average teenager who drives their own vehicle would have personal belongings and such in their car)

I think the defense is not creating any doubt what so ever, in the case so far all I see is resentment and shifting the blame, on one of their own witnesses.

this guy is a very bad lawyer. he has not presented anything that would dis approve these claims of an attack. No time frame ,no any thing.. I think they are not going to use the albi at all. You know why he will be charged with perjury..

I see a lot of holes in the defense case. There's a saying in the court room. A weak shark will attack 1st ,but the strong shark love the smell of blood. From my perspective taylor lawyer is wounded, losing and reaching and is down 2 days to none. It hard to win the case if you lose the 3rd day in a 2 week trail. I feel al lot of lying gong on(perjury).. A lot of statements of said information don't match from taylor, the DA doing a great job.

yes it big deal , as matter of fact that will pretty seal the deal on taylor and the defense if they use the facts.

this is where her father would come back on and give detail about the car.. One thing about cars are people don't clean them the same or use the same etc to clean them. But I wont say to much never know who reading.

Average in our neighborhood can be any type of vehicle, with make up, fast food wrappers, cans or bottles, coffee go cups, spare change, books and backpacks, granola bars, and other assorted items--cleaned out approximately once a month, and not usually vacuumed.

ETA: I am envious of the teenagers in your area.

About that shirt under the couch. Remember this was a camper he was living in. I don't know if the camper had been gutted or not. If it wasn't the couch in campers typically fold out to become a bed. There is storage areas under that in some campers CAN BE ACCESSED FROM OUTSIDE! So even if the camper is locked, the little doors on the outside of the camper can be opened. Typically the blocks that keep the camper tires from moving once parked, are stored there, some people store their lounge chairs, or portable grills, etc in there when used as a true camper, and not a house. Again, not knowing the inside of RAT'S camper, and haven't seen inside photos of it, I don't know for positive that it was a camper. But if it was, in the campers we've owned, the cushions for the couch are sewn together. So you have a long cushion as the back of the couch, and a long cushion as the seat of the couch, but they are sewn together in the area where the back of the seat and back of the couch meet. Then you pull out the 'legs' and 'bottom' of the couch, and lay the cushions down to make a bed.

I hate that this trial is NOT be televised! There's no reason for it not to be, IMO! Wonder if the jurors are sequestered? I feel like we're missing so much of the trial and the facts. Journalist of course only post, or report on what THEY think is important, and not necessarily what WE think is important to know.

Working on getting someone to stay with my aunt this coming week so I can attend the trial, at least a few days of it. I feel it's important to know what's going on. While it's about an hour away, I still know that 'neck of the woods', and fear him being let go! I wanna know!! Too many coincidences in this case for me to think he isn't involved, but yet, if I was on the jury, I'd want to hear more. Of course we've only had one real day of trial, so much more to come out. Seems the state is moving rather quickly through the witnesses as well. Wish I knew what day defense was planning on calling CRD, as I want to hear his testimony myself. Hostile witness...really I want to hear what he has to say!

hostile witness
n. technically an "adverse witness" in a trial who is found by the judge to be hostile (adverse) to the position of the party whose attorney is questioning the witness, even though the attorney called the witness to testify on behalf of his/her client. When the attorney calling the witness finds that the answers are contrary to the legal position of his/her client or the witness becomes openly antagonistic, the attorney may request the judge to declare the witness to be "hostile" or "adverse." If the judge declares the witness to be hostile (i.e. adverse), the attorney may ask "leading" questions which suggest answers or are challenging to the testimony just as on cross examination of a witness who has testified for the opposition.

Attorney, witnesses detail Alexis Murphy's encounter with suspect at gas station

On Aug. 6, two days after law enforcement began an extensive search for the missing teen, her dad’s car was found in a movie theater parking lot in Charlottesville. No signs of a body, purse, keys or driver’s license were found, Martin said; surveillance footage shown in court caught an image of her car arriving at 10 p.m., though the driver was not identifiable.

Damien Bradley is subpoenaed as a defense witness. Martin said Bradley is not a suspect in the Murphy case, was tracked down and interviewed by investigators, was not in Nelson County that weekend and “has nothing to do with this.”

Prosecutors detail evidence on second day of Randy Taylor trial

Martin said Taylor, who had been evasive with investigators during previous questioning and denied seeing Murphy, “changed his story” that evening to say she was in his camper but he did not harm her. He said Taylor then claimed that on Aug. 3 she was with a black male friend named Damien Bradley in his camper and that they left in separate cars about 9 p.m. and “everything was fine.”

Martin said the evidence shows a “violent struggle” taking place that led to Murphy’s death. He said her cellphone, which she never parted with, was later found destroyed near Taylor’s camper.

Martin spoke of the agony her family has felt since the night she was last seen.

“Hour after hour, day after day, week after week, month after month — nothing,” he said

The defense has not presented their case yet. They only did opening statements which many times reflects nothing of the case they actually put on. jmo
