I keep wondering why no pictures, court room drawings, or video was allowed in this case.
It sounds like the jury is not sequestered, either. Virginia is a different animal from Florida, that's for sure.

Jury going home for the night. Praying for them all.

Good they are coming back tomorrow with fresh eyes. It has to be so very draining.

I've been here today reading tweets & posts, when I could. I'm on edge. Hopefully this jury will see the truth that this proven liar won't get away with Alexis' murder. He already walked once. My thoughts about him would only get me tossed off of here, but you can imagine what they are.

Another thing, I wasn't impressed with the reporting of the trial & his defense sucked but hey, that's all they had to work with.

Thanks pops for the updates.

Totally floored that there was no smoking gun today! At the same time, am flabbergasted as to how many clues from AM were found in the trailer and how close to his trailer her phone was found. Most killers would make certain none of her belongings were hidden in/on their property. Is he really that dumb?

From what we have heard of evidence presented, it seems like he will be charged with abduction with intent to defile, but I do not see a murder charge. He was the last one to see her. All things point to him, but just do not see all the jurors agreeing to murder without more specific evidence. JMO

Many cases criminals leave behind clues/evidence. They are narcissistic and arrogant. Sociopaths don't view the world the same way we do. Which thankfully is their downfall and leads them to getting caught. IMO.

Much evidence for me that I could convict on Murder. Evidence of a struggle, hair extensions, nail etc. Blood. He lied. Alexis has never been seen again.

I think they got him this time.

I think they got him this time.

I hope your right.

The SA did a really good job with closing. They made a flow chart to show how all the evidence leads right back to RAT. Showed the shirt. I teared up when he showed Alexis's picture to the jury.

RAT pretty much sat with the same expression on his face the whole time.

There are alot of things that make no sence. Like how he got Alexis to follow him..

I am not quite sure about why the t shirt wasnt found either. I suspect RAT tryed to get it out VIA his when he came to get the 4 wheeler ,but I am unclear from the tape recording if they let him alone in the camper with his son while the agents sat in truck or if the conversation with his son happened outside.

I also wouldnt put it past RAT to drop it there on purpose to say it was planted.

There seems to be a theme for rat..
Steal someones child ,and blame it on mystery dudes. Then claim LE set you up. So maybe RAT is the one setting people up. Dont think he is too stupid to pull off something, he isnt but his skills are thankfully becoming outdated.

Cell phone sniffing dogs.. Yea he never dreamed it.

Keep Alexis's family in you prayers, they are really great people and very supportive of each other. No matter what the verdict is , Alexis is still missing and he better pray they keep him in jail.

THANK YOU all for the updates and comments.
I am hoping and praying for the maximum, PLEASE PLEASE VIRGINIA. I do not want this sociopath prowling around stalking & killing more young people.
Reading I have a question, do sociopaths such as RAT actually willingly try to go back to prison? I am bothered by him saying he was 'tired' & 'you might as well arrest me', early on, as if he wanted to go back to prison, but avoid the death penalty.

I think he was really telling them he wasnt going to tell them what happened.

Ya know, you might have hit the nail on the head. He was a washed up 48 year old male...wrinkled, graying, no money and living in a basement and a camper trailer not much bigger than a prison cell. He probably realized that it would be easier for him in prison. No more stressing over how to pay for everything. He obviously didn't give a hoot about anyone including his son. He even went so far as to involve his son in a murder investigation.

Yes, & maybe the property cameras were installed because he was a little paranoid about HIS safety and security knowing what he has done to some local's children.
It is so sad to think he could be released,
move away and repeat.

I am really hoping the jury thinks the prosecution made their case.

I'm not so sure they did but I do think RAT killed Alexis and Samantha...and that for the safety of the women and girls of Virginia, he should spend the rest of his life in prison.

Wow!! Were there no character witnesses. Anyone to vouch for him the whole weekend?
Just Wow! ...

Character witnesses come at the sentencing hearing, after the person has been found guilty, at least that's the drill in Canada.

I wondered today ,what verdict Taylor's attorney, Mike Callahan is hoping for deep in his head.

Today he said something to the jurors about they will always have doubt in their head about if they did the right thing if they were to reach a not guilty verdict Compared to the same wondering if they reached a guilty verdict he indicated it was better to wonder with RAT out of jail . (not exact wording but close)

In my head.. I am like how is that better? Every time someone goes missing they will think they did the wrong thing and someone innocent than RAT suffered because the wrong verdict was reached.

I wonder how the jurors will feel when they do learn about Samantha Clark as well?

I can only hope that the DA is prepared to win on cross examination. From what has been presented, there is no absolute proof of a murder or death, yet. The jury can't just rely on logic.
Hi Just K, I respectfully disagree. I think the hair extensions, false eyelash, bloody tshirt of RATS (alexis's blood") fingernail and earing/nose ring found in his camper are enough proof that he killed Alexis. ...God bless her and her family.

It is unreasonable to assume she is alive ,with the evidence presented in court.
No calls from her,no sightings, no family contact ,no hints at her ever running away. RATs bloody shirt the pulled out hair ,the piercing and her broken phone.

The jury can see the picture ,even if pieces are missing.

They are allowed to make inferences based on the circumstantial evidence.

There's absolutely no way in the world a jury would not convict him right now, imo the evidence presented by the prosecution was pretty strong. He'll be locked up for life and more. jmo

Where is Alexis, imo? Somewhere in these threads. The new location info re: the weekly basement info is worthy of looking into more, Ruckersville, right?--still getting caught up, half asleep, thanks again for the updates!

Y'all don't even sweat it. They're gonna throw away the key. jmo
Broken fingernail embedded in the carpet? Eyelash? Ponytail's worth of hair? All kinds of other evidence...There's everything but a body. jmo

And the jury didn't even see the sketches of old pois.
