Okay, thanks .. I missed him saying that, I wasn't sure if he just sort of accidentally saw it or if he was purposely shown .. wonder why SM would have shown him whatever it was?

Bonding/bragging/trophy sharing between two criminals. He thought it was safe to brag to this person because of the general anti-snitching attitude with regard to family.

Any theories of what it could be on the phone? My thoughts are why would he still have something on his phone after spending not enough time in jail, and what phone.

Him being asked to describe the phone was important. I wonder why.

They're establishing further deceit by Sidney. The phone that they have evidence from is an iPhone, so this flip phone must be a secret burner phone. My guess is that it was a photo of her body or the messy crime scene, since it was enough to disturb the cousin into silence.

Edited to add- I'm also guessing that if that phone hasn't already been destroyed, it will be tonight! Yikes.

Or maybe a pic of a locale with a comment by Sid that it's a great place to dispose of a body.

OR.....something incriminating about Tammy. If that's the case, it makes sense why the state didn't even give an inkling that they were interested in revealing the contents......yet......

Are they in Conway or Georgetown? This is a bad week for me but I had planned to go sit in on the trial.

Maybe just the kidnapping trial is moved.
Conway Courthouse. I've had jury duty there.

Someone mentioned upthread that when the camera zoomed in on TM, she was crying. I don't think that was during her cousin's testimony, but something shook her. If anybody has the video of that, do share.

One more observation before closing arguments:

Truslow asked the phone guy this morning, on cross examination, if there was anything he'd told him originally that he wanted to change after being cross examined by NL. He said no, and Truslow said no further questions. Any ideas on what he was getting at? For me, I'm hoping the guy was being truthful when he said that he had not been told by the prosecution about the alleged notes being left on Sid's vehicle.

On another note, I wish this jury knew about the GPS being disabled in Sid's truck and about the security cameras at the homestead being removed, but I guess that's not within the scope.

so they do know what was shown to the cousin on the phone .. does that mean it's being investigated?? if it's a location, body, etc ... ??

I thought I heard a witness today say "here in Conway."

They are in Conway. Georgetown is where the kidnapping case will go for re-trial.

Recap of Melson's testimony today from MSM:

Michael Melson, an expert witness for the prosecution provides software to investigators that analyzes cell phone records and gives visual representations of that data.

Melson showed a presentation that detailed cell phone location information for Heather's and Sidney’s phones in December 2013, the month Elvis went missing.

The analyzed data showed that, among other things, the last calls placed by Elvis’ phone were in the early morning hours of December 18, and the cell phone towers used were consistent with the phone being located at Peachtree Landing at that time.

Melson also said there was a gap in data between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. on December 18, which defense attorney Kirk Truslow had Melson contend could possibly have been due to a dead cell phone battery. Moorer’s location data appeared to confirm that he did place a phone call to Heather Elvis from a pay phone on 10th Avenue in Myrtle Beach. The state has argued that Moorer initially lied to police about this call, hindering their investigation and leading to the obstruction of justice charge.

Truslow grilled Melson on the possibility that the location data is inaccurate, as either phone may have used a different tower, if cell phone traffic on the closest tower to the phone was enough to jam it up. Melson said that 1 a.m., it was unlikely that the closest cell phone tower would have been jammed.

Recap of Donald Demarino's testimony today from MSM:

Donald Demarino, a cousin of Tammy Moorer, Sidney Moorer’s wife, testified that after Elvis’ disappearance, Moorer showed him “something” on a cell phone indicating that Moorer had more information about Elvis' disappearance than what he told police. What was shown was not disclosed during this trial.

The defense asked Demarino if he was charged with obstruction of justice after not taking the information revealed to him to police. Demarino said he was not charged.

Let's do this!

Defense asking if a lesser charge is possible, judge says no. State says they would object anyway but judge says not an option.

so they do know what was shown to the cousin on the phone .. does that mean it's being investigated?? if it's a location, body, etc ... ??

I would certainly hope so.

SM wants to testify. YAY

  • #715
SM has decided he wants to testify, against Truslow's advice.

  • #716
ummmmmmmmm KT says that SM wants to address court but they told him he should NOT. Also, judge telling another story about his past.

  • #717
Truslow is hanging his head for the judge's story time.

Wow!!!

She cried after the Judge ruled that the evidence from the cell phone pings will be admitted into evidence. Truslow tried hard to get them thrown out.
