He spoke to SM.
He knew about Heather's disappearance, and this was after she went missing.
DD states SM started a conversation with him about Heather.
DD states SM showed him a picture on a phone in SM's possession.
DD states the picture was of Heather Elvis.

It looks like the guard is standing in front of SM's parents, almost to block them and SM from interacting. Could just be a coincidences, but where's the fun in assuming that? No thank you. I'll assume people have been reading online sources and knew how horrible that interaction looked last week.
