Defense is requesting a directed verdict due to lack of evidence of SM crossing paths with Heather that night.

I know the judge is gonna say no but it still makes me nervous!

Hahahahahaha

NL responds to request the payphone call was an act of decoy and inveigle. That phone call made her stir. Her phone dies at the landing. His truck went to and from the landing. That is circumstantial evidence proving kidnapping (not murder).

Judge Dennis states that in addition to NL's statement, there is more telling circumstantial evidence.

  • #785
Wow. This judge sounds like he ready to call GUILTY! IMO JMO

  • #786
Go Judge Dennis, hard to hear but I think he is saying there is good evidence of guilt?

  • #787
Hehe....judge has his mind made up after the truck cleaning and burning of rags.

I love hearing this SO MUCH!
Evidence of guilt! Washing a brand new vehicle with rags for an hour and a half MAKES NO SENSE.
His reasonable conclusion is that the truck contains blood, DNA, and a jury can make reasonable conclusions, putting that together.

Is this real life, ya'll?

Mistrial based on what?

Something about a witness making a mention of a lie detector test or something?? Didn't catch it.

I wonder if he's regretting the ol' handshake with SM at the end of his mistrial :rolleyes::p

  • #791
Overwhelmingly!!!

  • #792
Ohhhhh he is saying the video of truck being washed doesn't make sense, why did they burn the rags? Dang should he being saying this stuff in front of jury?

  • #793
Judge Dennis says Heather was savvy enough not to go to that landing, get out of her car with her phone, lock her car, and leave with someone, unless she knew them. And then there's the timing of the truck, and the text message, when the "Moorers are at home, or somewhere, . . . claim to be." Now he's saying the pressure washing of the brand new truck makes no sense, especially burning the rags used. "Obviously they contain blood, dna . . I think the jury can reasonably conclude . . . "

He's also talking about the new security system, saying if he had evidence to exonerate him, he wouldn't destroy it. He says the circumstances are overwhelming to convict Mr. Moorer, so the MOVEMENT FOR A DIRECTED VERDICT IS DENIED.

'If I have evidence that would exonerate me, I sure wouldn't destroy it!'

'Evidence that is not just substantiating, but overwhelming of guilt'

Directed verdict DENIED.

Judge did this last time too. He knows SM is GUILTY.

  • #796
i think the Judge is convinced 100 %

  • #797
Now the Defense is moving for a directed verdict on the conspiracy to commit kidnapping.

EYE-ROLL
EYE-ROLL

And we can add removing of the CD card 2.5 hours prior to her disappearance and replacing your surveillance camera 1 day after. All points to guilt.

Now we just need this jury to be 100% convinced .. after what the state presented, I don't know how they could not be!
