Many in the court room looking over at SM as she describes the villain.

NL is saying she loved reading Jane Austen in high school, because there was always a good guy and a villain. You had to figure out which one was which, and the villain always turned out to be the one with the silver tongue. That's how it was with SM. During the first interview, they didn't know SM was the villain. The police got into their car and left. The lies unraveled and the story unfolded, and you could see SM was the villain. She likes the idea of scratching the surface, looking at every piece of evidence and finding out who the villain is. She tells the jury that's what they'll be doing. (Spoiler alert: It was Sidney Moorer.)

I am over this stupid TV. Our girl let her hair down for this, let us see her!
Gosh!

She's doing an excellent job. You can't change what happened but persistence and patience will bring justice. The Count of Monte Cristo

NL's favorite book was The Count of Monte Cristo, because he was the victim, but in the end he gets justice. That book told her that while you can't change what happened, with persistence and patience, you can get justice. Nancy is asking the jury, at the end of this story, to give the justice Heather Elvis deserves.

Do they ever say anything relevant?

Dat girl good!

Aaaaaand now that she's done with her closing, they finally move the TV.

Jarrette Bouchette is doing the closing for the Defense.

JB is telling the jury that SM's family hasn't been in the court before today, because SM asked them to stay home. Hm.

Lawls right off the bat -
Sid has his family stay home so he wouldn't see what he'll be missing.
Because they know he's not coming home anytime soon.
Because his family can't control themselves.

"With persistence and patience, you can find justice because that is all that is left. ...I hear to ask you to give justice to this family and community."

Brilliant and honoring of all victims of violent crime.

The defense...Yawn.

Let me answer that for you pal,
Yes. Yes, we can trust the State's theory of the case.
The foundation is solid. And you know it.

So Sid’s values of cheating on his wife with a very young girl are pretty telling of who he is...thank you!!
