First witness of the day is John Martin, a HCPD officer. He was one of the early investigators in Heather Elvis' missing person case, helping with phone records in particular.

The state calls their first witness Johnathan Martin. He works at the Horry County Police Department. Back in 2013 he was a detective in the violent crimes unit. He was initially called to Heather Elvis's case shorty after she disappeared.

Martin testifies that he received Heather Elvis' phone records within 48 hours of her disappearance. Says they also looked into the phone booth and Sidney Moorer's records as well.

Martin says in his 12 years as an police officer he never had to issue a search warrant on a pay phone. Elvis received a call from a pay from on 1:33 a.m. Dec 18th, 2013 hours before she went missing. @WBTWNews13
