Guy with blue shirt - red stripes on sleeves

  • #41
No offense taken, but in my post I didn't suggest he was a victim or anything of the sort, I just stated in none of them did he look comfortable with his picture being taken. Meaning, maybe this person would be able to recall some creep wanting to take his picture. He looks like he would just rather be riding his bike, not posing for a picture.

Most of the teenage guys I have been around, and I grew up with quite a bit, tend to ham it up more than look embarrassed.

Suppose he's an unlikely victim anyway because all the known Alcala victims are female and the overwhelming majority of his photos are female which suggests he was primarily interested in them. But I guess you never know.

Check this out:

http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/r/rogers_darren.html

Also listed on the Doe Network case file 1876DMCA.

Wow. What a coincidence if this is not the guy with the blue shirt. Alcala was in prison when this kid went missing, but he could have been a runaway for awhile. Also there are no moles on the charlie project photo, but maybe they were air brushed. Is this worth submitting? (Didn't know how to copy the photo. Maybe somebody can help. I'm not a puter whiz.

Redbird, we've looked at this person before in this match. Timing is wrong as you said, but also look at this boys height compared to the bike, I don't think the Alcala picture by was 6 foot tall.

If the charlie project is the same person he is obviously older than he was in the bicycle picture.

I posted this in another thead. I thik it looks alot like the boy with the bi ke.

Aso I think he resmebles the boy in the pic that is side by side with the UID gir/boy whose remains had been reconstructecd,

I think socalgal2's comment about the http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/...rs_darren.html boy was not discussed, but ignored. I didn't see it. The boy and girl pictures are reconstructions, and rather generic. With a story to go with it, about them running off together, I don't think there is enough to go on to think they may have come across Alcala. But the picture of Darren when I first saw it looked like an age progression of the boy with the bike. I do think Alcala may have had some contact with him and it would be worth reporting this information to the Modesto Police Dept. Socalgal2 was the first to make this discovery, so if she wants to report, I think she should. Otherwise I will. Are you there socalgal2? Good work.

Here's a side-by-side. I think these two do look alike, but I am not sure they are the same person. There noses and general mouth and chin area look the same.

Aside from Derran's (and that's the way his name is spelled at the CA Dept of Justice site and Modesto PD, whereas Charley Project spells it "Darren".) date gone missing being a time when Rodney Alcala was in prison for almost two years already. Derran is listed as having dark "blond" hair. The Alcala boy has dark "brown" hair and VERY dark, bushy eyebrows, which with what you can see of Derran's they don't appear to be either dark or bushy.
If it wasn't for that, I'd say they look like a match.

(Does anyone find it odd that it does not list Derran's eye color anywhere? Who reported him missing, someone who didn't really know him? No family? Weird and sad.)

Someone knew him enough to know he was partially blind in one eye. No eye color though?

This is not me. However, when I had showed the bike boy's photo to my mom she immediately said those look like someone purposely made that kids eyebrows darker. Almost like a Groucho Marx look. My mom doesn't have to worry about credibility so I'd figure I'd throw it out there.

What we do know is this poor kid needed a Dentist.

Now that the two photos are side by side my first reaction was no they don't look that much alike. But then when I compared nose for nose, mouth for mouth, eyebrow for eyebrow, chin for chin, I thought nope, they do look a lot alike if you take into account an age difference of about 3 years.

bbm Exactly, isn't that weird. Okay, so let's say this kid was maybe in a foster home, but no, at least the state who put him there would know his eye color wouldn't they? Very weird. I am wondering if perhaps a teacher reported him missing when he never showed up for school, since it sounds like that was the last place he was seen? Or maybe a school friend whose family reported it? Maybe he wasn't reported missing for years, I don't know. I'm thinking Derran, ( or Darren as CP spells it) needed more than a dentist, sounds like he needed someone who cared!:cry::cry:

Please take a look at this missing boy, Scott Curtis Fandel from Alaska, missing since 1978.

Scott and his sister ,Amy went missing at the same time. His sister Amy reminds me of the little blond haired girl in the Alcala pictures. She has on a oversized yellow shirt and green shorts in the Alcala picture.

Let me know what you think. The Charley Project pictures are very white and may not show the facial moles on the children's faces. I sure wish there was a better picture of both of them. Thanks so much!

The kid in that photo's name is Scott Fandell. He was brought to my neighborhood in Peekskill NY in 1978 by Antoine Bellevue, kidknapped and sent by convicted serial killer Rodney Alcala who first killed his little sister Amy then finished him off. I reported it to the local police back then.

If you believe all that you read in the Charley project or Doe Network then none of these missing will ever be found.

ok...but the Charley Project has found more missing and connected more "unknowns" than anything else I've read about so far.
