I agree. It's largely irrelevant where the live rounds came from. If they weren't checked before they went into the gun then that's on someone.

The only relevance as to where they came from, in my opinion, is if they were put there intentionally to cause harm and I don't think anyone is seriously suggesting that. And, even if they were, it still doesn't absolve someone who was supposed to check them.
Exactly! It seems like defense might’ve been trying to suggest that the “disgruntled” camera crew that walked out may have thrown in live ammo in the continually neglected prop cart. Lol. That’s obv insane. There’s no wriggling out of this for HGR imo.

Good morning comrades, back in the #Rust trial. I suspect PDQ Arm & Prop owner Seth Kenney may testify today.

Still photographer Karen Kuehn on stand says it seemed Alec Baldwin was the boss on set.

Craft services worker Rebecca Smith on the stand. The self-described “set mom” says #Rust armorer Hannah Gutierrez Reed handed her a bag with cocaine in it when she was leaving her hotel room one night. As a recovering addict she threw it away immediately.

Craft services worker: the white powder was about 4-5 sugar packets worth.

It feels like this testimony from Seth Kenney is taking FOREVER! I feel like she’s asking him the same question over and over. I can’t focus. JMO

JMO this guy comes off so unlikeable and attempting to make light / comedic is way off beam. Also I noticed HGR yawn whilst the rounds were being scrutinised and he was drawing his red circle. Like, WTH I know court is boring but surely this discussion is pretty key stuff?

She showed Halls the gun again, and he saw three or four rounds — all of which appeared to be dummies because they had depressed primers. He did not remember whether she spun the cylinder or not. She then gave the gun back to Baldwin, Halls said."

This is literally one of the most insanely risky things you can do in gun handling. Just because the primer is depressed on a live round doesn't mean that it can't go off with a subsequent impacts - I've seen it!

I feel like an outlier with how I’m perceiving these witnesses but he seems legit to me. He’s being careful not to go scorched earth. But who knows what will come out at cross. He has to be upset that he was being blamed and accused of giving the set live rounds. JMO

ETA: So HGR sued Kenney??? Wow. Defense objecting like he didn’t ask all the other witnesses about their civil lawsuits!

I also agree that I perceive him as honest and authentic. I guess by the time it comes to court room action, the witnesses and people such as him have had months / years of legal meetings and paperwork. Plus being directly blamed, well if that were me I'd probably break out into hysteria of some sort! JMO MOO

WITNESS 30: Rebecca Smith, Rust Key Craft ServicesThe evening of Oct. 21, 2021, RS went to HGR’s hotel room to comfort her.RS: “She asked me if I could hold onto something for her.”RS agreed and HGR allegedly handed her a baggie of cocaine.

RS says she threw the baggie of powder away in a hallway trashcan after leaving HGR's room.

@DanaGriffinNBC
Is it just me or does this sound really implausible? I mean, why would anyone do this? You're in your a hotel room and hand it to someone else to get rid of - really?? Why not just flush it rather than get someone else involved who might try to stitch you up?

Makes no sense.

Interesting: SK difficulty an answering defense's simple question did you want her (HGR) fired. moo

'hold on to' would imply she wanted it relocated out of her possession, returned later, not thrown away!

Agreed, and it surprised me that this testimony would even be allowed. moo

I believe she did attempt to reclaim it. However, it's all hearsay. moo

Sarah Zachry also had trouble with this question. Why can’t they just say she sucked at her job and had a bad attitude? That seems to be the case. JMO

Haven't been able to watch today so hopefully this is on point. Seems it would be allowed because of this charge:

'Hannah Gutierrez-Reed was charged last week with evidence tampering for allegedly handing off the drugs in October 2021. Prosecutors allege that by doing so, she interfered with the investigation into Hutchins’ death."

State's attempt to show that HGR's use of drugs contributed to her negligence and recklessness while working on the movie set. They did not prove that portion, imo. In addition, it's a character trait of hers, comes naturally?

Yes that’s what the state argued in a pre-trial hearing as to why the presumed cocaine evidence was relevant - it was evidence tampering. Her use of drugs on the job was evidence and she was trying to conceal it. But they have no evidence of her using on set. Seems like a streeeeeeeetch to me but what do I know. JMO

“Rust” movie set ammunition supplier Seth Kenney is on the stand saying he only provided a portion of the ammunition. Hannah Gutierrez, he says, obtained the rest with her renowned armorer father Thell Reed.

The #Rust ammo supplier testifies that he didn't provide any live bullets to the movie set. Seth Kenney says he was aware people would blame him for causing #HalynaHutchins' death but insist those live bullets did not match his inventory. #CourtTV What do YOU think? NM v #HannahGutierrez
