Except he didn't report it until after he got it back, weeks later.
"When he discovered the gun missing, he says he then called Hank Jr.'s sister-in-law and told her he knew either Hank or his mother took the gun and he wanted it back or he'd call police."
So he must have called Chelsea. Didn't they move to Mass before this occured in August?

So August...it would help to know when in August. Many will say after the 5th and others will say right before the 5th. Surely we will find out soon enough.

Good catch... Gotta be a typo... right?

Wonder if he called Misty? That could explain the dynamics of how this all unfolded. Martin calls Misty, Misty tells Ron, Ron tells LE at phone meeting, LE contacts Martin and asks him to press charges and then Bob's your uncle. Just one of many scenarios with this convoluted case.

Convoluted is right. It's only 10:30 am, and my head already aches.

If Chelsea has a cell phone the guy could have called her anywhere, couldn't he? And LE might have learned about the incident in their interview with her and Timmy.

Yeah, it just seems odd that he'd have Chelsea's number and know her well enough to call, since she lived in another town.

LE learning about it in the interview is a definite possibility... The article just says "Last Friday, the victim told a deputy he wanted to file charges ..."
It doesn't say who contacted whom.

I think you've nailed it, Don. :)

Yeah... how old is this man? I suppose he might know Chelsea because Hank Sr. and Lisa used to be his neighbors and their children visited. And if Lisa used his phone to contact her children she might have left their phone numbers somewhere near his phone.

Doesn't Tommy have a cell phone? I thought he had but why would Lisa and Tommy need to borrow a neighbor's phone if he's got a phone with him? Of course not everybody keeps it with them all the time and it might even have been an excuse to get near the gun.

I do not think that there was bad blood between HC2 and RC prior to Haleigh disappearing, as I dont think MC would openly admit that HC2 was hanging at the house that evening. RC would not be okay with that........

On that note there is definately tension between the two since and I think that HC2 could be the henchman.......

:yow: I have no idea. Maybe the records were landline and their phone service was turned off since February? Or maybe he no longer has the cell...?

Leaving his children with a minor coming down from a drug binge....I do believe that he was aware of the dynamics in this family before HaLeigh went missing...a man who assaults frequently, sells drugs and beheads animals for a point....does not often put children first. JMO.

Nor does Tommy consider his wife's and 3 children's best interests. My heart goes out to Lindsey and her children. How long will Lindsey "stand by her man"?

I would think the neighbor was acting responsible in reporting the missing gun to authorities in case it was used in a crime, if I'm not mistaken, you are required to do it if you have a permit for one.
I just posted the same thing on another thread, Kool. The timing is still hinky, though. What prompted him to call LE now? Was he afraid to do so earlier, but felt safe now because the C's were flying the coop? Maybe he has a wife like me who kept after him to report it, and he finally listened to her. Or, maybe LE went to his house to question him about the C's and said something that persuaded him to speak up.

This just doesn't make any sense. An arrest with that kind of bond over a gun that has already been returned???? If he would steal a gun from a neighbor under those circumstances, he must not be very bright. The longer this case goes the more confusing it gets. Will Haleigh ever be found? If they didn't have a phone, what about the calls Misty supposedly made that resulted in the three of them going over to the house that night?

To top it off, it doesn't appear RC cares about that kind of stuff regarding sex with others...doesn't bother him at all, from what I can tell. He has no qualms about what M did, in fact, he marries her. Must be a sub-culture down there that doesn't fit with most of us, or matters we don't understand about their questionable values or morals.
Off Topic: I know plenty of men who were caught with other women and their wives took them back or never left. Hillary R-C. is one, but I can name many more. I don't think it has anything to do with the "subculture" in Satsuma, Fl.

We can't say much about Ronald taking her back when they were split up at the time she may have been with someone else. If they were not together at the time, Ronald didn't have a right to say a word about her being with anyone or doing whatever she did. They were trying to work things out.

On Topic: With Tommy stealing a gun from a neighbor of his parents', I believe the likelihood of him being the one who stole Ronald's gun has just increased. No wonder it was found near Tommy's house in the ditch. This shows that Tommy probably had it in for Ronald before Haleigh went missing, imo. Why was Tommy hellbent on stealing a gun when he had 2 already? The only reason I can think of is he had something planned which included a gun that he did not want traced back to him.

So let's add thief to Tommy's list of dirty laundry that is now coming out. I wonder what else he kept in that shed besides stolen firearms?

Looks like Lisa and Hank Sr. know a lot more than they have stated about things, too. They couldn't wait to get the hell outta Dodge knowing that LE would want to talk to them about the gun matter.

If that was what he wanted he cannot be real bright because he stole it in a manner that was traced back to him immediately.

His wife knew what he was before she married him. She is the one who had a RO out on him for violence.

I'm thinking cell phone. I am very anxious to see the police report for this incident. Hope there aren't any blacked out names on this one. I am trying to determine what this gentleman's motive might have been for making a call to ask that charges be pressed against Hank jr now. Am I understanding this whole thing correctly...he got the gun back and then decided to press charges after the fact? Not a question to you in particular Annie i am just bouncing off your post.

This is staring to make more sense with this additional information. The article says that the theft "happened a couple of weeks earlier", so it probably occurred after the Croslin/Cummings domestic dispute and Ratgate. It sounds to me like Tommy might have thought more charges could be filed and he saw an opportunity to get a gun that he could hide and nobody else would know about.

It could be that "Hank Jr.'s sister-in-law" is a typo and it was actually "Hank Jr.'s wife" or "mother" that the gun owner called. It sounds like even after the gun was returned, he was upset with the Croslins and called the police to report the crime. I imagine that LE was jumping for joy when this opportunity fell in their laps! Especially after they found out that Hank and Lisa skipped town.

I would not consider Tommy to be in a category of intelligent thinkers. If he abducted Haleigh and they have not caught on to him...he may not have been worried about taking a gun. After all, he would have already outsmarted FDLE, PCSO, and the FBI into believing it was all his sister's fault.

My take on this, when I began to watch over and over Misty's interviews, the voice analysts played over and over on tv, when that tear rolled down her cheek when she's saying, "You all keep turning to me for all the answers, you need to look out". My opinion began to change. When we learned she had been on the phone with her brother, that Ron had called her brother that evening.

In the last two weeks of learning the more intricate details, I truly believe Misty fell asleep, had the children laid down, and someone came in to that mh and took Haleigh. Misty either slept through it, droused awake barely to see images, to the point of believing she was in a dream. I know we have all done this in our lives while sleeping. I have other reasons, but that's enough for now. She's just maintained the same basic story. Dont forget the van. Which brothers house was the van moved and damaged?

The van was reportedly at Timmy and Chelsea's home in Crescent City.
