Thanks for info. I posted in the scanner thread where I believe her body was found based on info from rewinding scanner.

the property info on the address you posted in the scanner thread does not indicate an abandon home or property. The owner has another primary address however the property was renovated in 2006

This is the only "abandoned looking" place / property I could find in the google view within close range to the northern police blockade. Actually, it's to the left down a little bit from that spot.

I think this is very near where her body was found today

They said the property was OFF Old Lynchburg Road which makes me think there is a side street you would turn on from Old Lynchburg to get there. Otherwise they would have said the property is ON Old Lynchburg Rd. At least that is the terminology used in my area.

Lori Hamilton lives just doorsteps from where police say the remains were found. She tells NBC29 her family noticed something unusual in the area in the past few days.

“My husband started smelling things two days ago and saw vultures. And yesterday he was like Lori it really smells bad outside, lets shut the windows,” said Hamilton.

Looking at the Albemarle County property maps in that website, the property that extends back from the corner of Plank Road and Old Lynchburg Road is 3470 Old Lynchburg Road. It appears to be owned by a bank? If you put 3470 Old Lynchburg Road into Google maps, you see a streetview of an abandoned house.

ETA: At least, the house in the street 3470 Old Lynchburg Road appears abanadoned in my view, looking at streetview. It is very near the corner of Plank and Old Lynchburg, which some people on this thread have said is the intersection barricaded by police.

Are you talking about the red brick house surrounded by the fence? That doesn't look abandoned to me... but not sure that's what you're looking at, but the county website has it valued at $835k and owned by a bank...

I am not sure I would characterize law enforcement from Chesterfield County as volunteers so I don't know how much stock I would give that report. As far as the whole abandoned property, he said they were "searching an abandoned property" when they found remains. To me, that means land most likely with some old buildings on it. What it doesn't indicate is whether, even if there are buildings, the body was in a building or not. I think he phrased it ambiguously on purpose (he does have a law degree and we lawyers tend to use specific words for a reason ). That said, he also went on to state that additional details would be released at future points in time. Maybe after the press conference, he confirmed to a news person that the body was in a building.

This is probably nothing, but does anyone else notice markings on the old Lynchburg road if you go up and down it using streetview? Some almost look like the symbol for males with the circle and an arrow coming out of it, but I can't get a good view of them, it always seems to blur when I get close. Are these just normal markings for Virginia, roadwork maybe?
