i don't understand how someone as simple-minded as JM supposedly is could hide hannah so well.

Maybe she is not well-hidden. Maybe they just have not looked in the right place.

I agree with this. Also, buzzards etc do not always show up around dead things- I can attest to this from personal experience.

In the Kyron,Horman case LE asked for all video cam info.

It is a great question why they are not asking for that.

Do you think people on these huge properties have cams at their driveways?

Aren't there businesse all along the roads? Convenience store? Antique store? Nothing? Strip mall?

and... It would imagine there would be a number of wild life cams on some of these large acreages...

Could be helpful in catching JM...

JMO...

Based on this, do you get the feeling that the roommates didn't see JM for a while after the night something happened to HG?

From the September 25 press conference.

Below is one request. There have been others.

Wildlife cameras....if you have one.....we're asking you to check it. Midnight on Sept 13th up until today.
If you see an orange vehicle or blue Nissan or other vehicle you are not familiar with....call us.

Large block of time between Hannah disappeared and the time it was reported to us. We need to shrink that gap. To figure out when Hannah truly disappeared.

For example, if somebody saw Jessie Matthew on Saturday morning...alone...we need to know that information.

If you know Jesse, and many people do, they know his habits, they know his customs, eg. Jesse liked to fish...where did he like to fish? Those are the things we need to know so we can look in those areas. We can only do that with your help.

Thanks to KMouse for the transcript.

Most wildlife cams are set to only activate when triggered by motion at very close range.

We have one on our house, and it has been triggered by coyote -and our cat- at about a 150 ft distance. Nothing further...

Weren't most of his legal problems due to laziness and/or a lack of desire to follow the law?

He still had to pass a written test- I mean- the guy can clearly read, comprehend, and memorize things. I don't know why so many people think he is brain dead.

I don't think he is brain dead. A lot of people not as on the ball as he is. BUt look at that long list of DMV and other driving/car charges. A lot of his legal problems had to do with driving, care of the car, that sort of thing. And look at the condition of his car. Not to mention the charge that LE finally could nail him on was reckless driving when he knew he was being watched and followed by LE. Finally these horrors occuring in the MH and Hannah, both involving cars. JM and cars don't seem to mesh welll. Oh, and he managed to get two cars impounded in a very short period of time, his and his sister's.

You're welcome.

If I was leading the K9 teams, I would probably have 3 different teams comprised of smaller teams. 1 team of cadaver dog, 1 team of airscent dogs with Hannahs scent, and 1 team of airscent dogs with JLM's scent.
The idea being you create a triangulation of possible hits, where in theory all 3 will combine. As the 3 teams shrink the triangle your search radius becomes smaller.

How much 'nose time' can each dog work, per day?

If he is familiar with the country as it appears, he might not need to be all that cleaver. Just pick a spot that he knows. The Anchorage Farm location was about as remote as you can get. Being a fisherman/hunter/outdoorsman.... he, no doubt, knows a hundred different places.

Years ago when I hunted and fished a lot, I could probably find 10 good places to hide a body... that is, with a clear head... But under duress, probably not think of all that many.

Yeah, doesn't sound promising. I have been hanging my hat on their input as far as the timeline. Wonder what the neighbors saw? One neighbor thought he was unemployed, another allegedly said he was with a shorter, caucasian woman one night. Seems as though LE has narrowed down the time gap. Guess we are forced to wait and wonder.

How much 'nose time' can each dog work, per day?

Its more dependant on the handler and honestly the emotion level of the SAR.
The dogs sense it, and if you are involved in a very emotional SAR the dogs will literally not stop until you force them to. Most teams will go dawn to dusk with breaks during the day if conditions change, and to recharge the dogs so to speak. Let them out of work mode and let their mind relax a bit.

The teams may also be watching wind conditions. That is by far the biggest factor using airscent dogs. If the wind changes, it can cause a whole new set of smells to come into a search grid. Due to that, the best times to search are going to be during low wind opportunities.

Its a daunting task, especially when you really dont know any specific area to target.

Well, he did go to college so he's not *that* simpleminded...

His reckless driving though was when he was fleeing and he never intended to be caught.

A lot of people particularly ones that are irresponsible that don't have a lot of money have crappy cars, don't keep up on their registration, insurance etc. It doesn't make a person completely and hopelessly stupid.

And maybe he did illegal things in the past that made him not want to deal with the police, the dmv etc. Maybe being around police was stressful for him, so he kept telling himself, "Oh, I'll do it later".

I know I got in trouble a couple of times when I was younger for stupid car stuff and I'm certainly not a stupid person. Actually I was accidentally driving around on an expired license a few years ago- I had no idea it was expired until someone pointed it out when I used it on vacation in a casino. I'd hardly call myself mentally disabled!

Do a satellite view, and see how many wooded areas there are. This might give others an idea of how difficult this search effort is. Look at how many bodies of water there are.

Yes, and it certainly wouldn't take a mensa member to be traipsing about in the woods- hiking, fishing etc as he did- and think oh! that would be a good place to hide a body!

I used to own a scenthound with an amazing sense of smell and she'd stay out all day tracking things and only come in at night because I'd physically make her. Of course she never did SAR, but tracking thing was her idea of fun. She'd always get so mad when it was warm out and I made her come inside! Sometimes she'd act like she needed to go out at night, but then she'd immediately go back to tracking things and I'd have to drag her in.
