If you go to the forum and scroll down there are private threads (that we can not discuss the details of up here) one is the scanner which has posts of police,fire,emergency calls.

I haven't observed it personally, but the report sounded like the whole segment of road from Plank to Red Hill Rd.

Have never been 'downstairs', so have no clue to the answer, but maybe someone who has been knows. Does local LE have any private channels that are not able to be picked up on the scanner thread, or do they ever scramble messages? Scrambled messages certainly would catch my attention.

In my experience they often switch to a private channel and commonly switch to communicate by phone (signal permitting)

Parker Slaybaugh, who is a very reliable and thorough reporter and doesn't report unless confirmed said he is on his way to Cville. We'll see what he says. As much as I don't want this to be it and wanted to keep hope alive....I hope that is in fact her and that her family can begin the path of healing...to whatever degree possible after something like this. My heart is breaking for them.

I hope they found her. A tragic as it would be if this is indeed Hannah's body, it's going to be worse if the search efforts are ended without her found Which has happened with some disappearances.

Is this where they were searching today or planning to search tomorrow with the public? They could be setting up for a massive affair. But that doesn't explain the heavy police presence in Charlottesville proper, would it?
