'Happy-slapping'

  • #21
I think if parents stopped hitting their kids, it would be a good start. I don't believe in spanking. If a parent hits their kid, its pretty difficult to tell that kid that its not okay and they shouldn't hit anyone else.

((((Jeana))))! Good point. A creative thinking parent can find many ways to teach without hitting--just my opinion of course:).

I was raised in a generation where everyone spanked their kids and I've never battered another person. I don't personally believe there's a correlation between the two.

I think I understand what you are saying, Ntegrity. Yet, those who slap in anger instead to teach may get unpleasant results.

I once saw a mom slap her child lightly on the bottom when nothing else seemed to work for her. But, she did it clearly to teach and hugged and praised her child the instant the child stopped the undesirable behavior.

I have also seen parents slap a child in anger, and I think it is unproductive and can cause harm to a child--even years later.

I decided not to watch the video because I am appalled by this kind of behavor. It reminds me of the senseless beating of Victoria Lindsay.

I don't think this has anything to do with spanking children.
(FYI-I am against spanking.)
This type of behavior imo, comes from overly violent movies, video games and ridiculous tv shows like Jack 🤬🤬🤬.
Have you ever looked at the video games young children and teens play? Pretty scary stuff.

When discussing what kids feed their brain, a very wise person once said:
When chit goes in,
chit comes out.

There's no video at that link that I saw. It's just still pictures which are very blurry.

Good, maybe people can't continue to send it all over the world and back.

So sad and just horrible, Floh! I can't watch the video because of my slooooow dial-up, but even if I could I wouldn't, either. There are just some things I can't watch.
