Details of Disappearance
Burton was last seen in Boynton Beach, Florida on February 9, 1988. Her stepmother saw her before she went to work. At 10:00 a.m., her stepmother called home and spoke to Burton. When she arrived home later, Burton was gone.

She didn't leave a note, which is uncharacteristic of her, and none of her belongings were missing. She has never been heard from again. Her stepmother reported her missing the next day.

At the time of her disappearance, Burton attended Santaluces High School and lived with her father and stepmother in a house on northwest 27th Court; they still live there. Few details are available in her case.

Burton said that her granddaughter might have found some leads to Hattie’s whereabouts, possibly in Los Angeles.

“She pulled her up on the computer and found her there,” she said.

I am unable to read the link from outside the USA but Ancestry still has 2 entries in the US Public Records Index for Hattie Burton living at 109161 Wilmington Avenue, LA and including her precise DoB of 11 June 1968. These records must be from 1993 or earlier as 1993 is the last date in the index. Does anyone know if anything came of this when they were first found? Was she found (presumably not) or was it ever confirmed that she had gone to LA after leaving Florida, even if she was no longer traceable there by the time the records came to light?
