Tammy Moorer has been moved.

After spending six days at J. Reuben Long Detention Center in Conway, Moorer, 41, has been transferred to the Georgetown County Detention Center, a sheriff's office representative confirmed.

Carrie Cuthbertson, spokeswoman for the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office, confirmed Thursday that Moorer is now jailed at the Georgetown County jail.

Cuthbertson deferred further comment to the Horry County Sheriff's Office and the 15th Circuit Solicitor's Office. She could not say when or why Moorer was moved.

"I can only confirm she's being held at the Georgetown County Detention Center," Cuthbertson said.

Berkeley County sheriff's deputies to discuss Heather Elvis disappearance with state, Horry County officials

Berkeley County sheriff's deputies will meet next week with state agents and Horry County investigators to discuss the disappearance of 20-year-old Heather Elvis and whether there's anything they can do to assist the investigation, authorities said.

While accused murderer Sidney St. Clair Moorer, 38, formerly of Summerville, sits in an Horry County jail pending charges that he and his wife killed Elvis and hindered a subsequent investigation, his family members in Summerville remain tight-lipped about the accusations against him.

In December, Heather Rachelle Elvis was many things to many people.

She was both a younger sister and an older sister. She was quiet enough to have some consider her shy, but edgy enough to don the plaid skirt and open white top worn by Tilted Kilt employees that often exposed the tattoos her parents didn’t approve of on her forearm, under her ribs and on her upper right thigh. She was a friend and a best friend. She was the oldest daughter of Terry and Debbie Elvis.

The reporter is the one who says Heather left with the Moorers. He says "Based on the evidence, Heather drove herself to Peach Tree landing then left with the Moorers." That could just be his interpretation of evidence released.

Heather Elvis prayer vigil scheduled for weekend

A prayer vigil is scheduled for 6 p.m. Sunday for Heather Elvis at Peachtree Boat Landing, according to the Find Heather Elvis Facebook page.

Several similar vigils have been held for the 20-year-old, who was last seen the night of Dec. 17 and last heard from Dec. 18.

Spoiled meat, moldy potatoes and three guns lying in plain view were among the findings during an Horry County Police Department search of the home of Sidney and Tammy Moorer, according to a police report.

On Feb. 21, county police and other assisting agencies executed a search warrant at the Moorers' home in the 8700 block of Highway 814.

As a result of that search, Sidney Moorer, 38, and his wife, Tammy Moorer, 41, were taken into custody. They've since been charged with murder, kidnapping, obstruction of justice and two counts of indecent exposure in connection with the disappearance of Heather Elvis.

Murder suspect in Heather Elvis case is from Berkeley County

The Heather Elvis case has taken the national media by storm. The young woman’s father, Terry Elvis, has made several appearances on Nancy Grace as well as countless pleas to the local media for his daughter’s safe return home.

However, two months after Elvis’ disappearance, Sidney and Tammy Moorer were charged with the young woman’s murder and kidnapping. To this day her body has yet to be found.

According to an unnamed source, Sidney is originally from Berkeley County with family still residing in the area. This person, who wishes to remain anonymous, says Sidney previously attended Lord Berkeley Academy, now St. Johns Christian Academy, in Moncks Corner.

Sidney appears to have also created an account on classmates.com at some point listing his graduation date from the private school as 1995.

Elvis said he had three friends call about 10 a.m. Thursday to tell him there was a video posted on a Facebook page called “Call Da PO PO HO” that showed the back of his business that was liked by a page called “Sidney and Tammy Moorer are innocent.”

Father of missing woman files second harassment report

The father of missing woman Heather Elvis has filed a second complaint with Myrtle Beach Police to investigate possible harassment.

On March 13, Terry Elvis reported that his friends saw a video on Facebook that showed someone in a car driving behind and filming his business. When he went outside to get perspective on where that video was likely shot from, he found a red "X" painted on the back door and could smell fresh paint.

Couple accused of Heather Elvis murder to appear in court Monday for bond hearing

Tammy and Sidney Moorer are scheduled to appear in Horry County Court Monday at 2 p.m. for a bond hearing; the couple is charged for kidnapping and murder in the case of missing 20-year-old Heather Elvis.

WMBF News spoke to the defense attorneys for the Moorers about the case and the developments since the couple was arrested on February 21 and charged with kidnapping, murder, obstruction of justice, and indecent exposure in connection with the investigation into the disappearance of Heather Elvis.

For the Moorers, Monday's bond hearing could be their chance to be released until their trial. Horry County Solicitor Jimmy Richardson says their temporary freedom will be determined by two factors: "A risk to the community, and also flight risk. So that's the only thing the judge is going to look at."
 
Without key evidence, Elvis, Pipkin murder cases to challenge attorneys

Within three months in 2002, four people were reported missing and later four unrelated people were each convicted of murder in the cases.

At the time of the convictions, which occurred in 2004 and 2006, the bodies of two victims had not been recovered, and today their whereabouts remain unknown.

During the last four months, two Horry County women, Heather Elvis and Angie Pipkin, were reported missing and three people are charged with murder in their cases.

The women’s bodies also have not been found.

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – Bond has been denied for the couple accused of kidnapping and murdering 20-year-old Heather Elvis after a hearing lasting nearly two hours.

Tammy and Sidney Moorer appeared at Horry County Court Monday afternoon for the bond hearing on the charges of kidnapping and murder in connection with the disappearance of Heather Elvis.

The Horry County solicitor began the hearing by reading the charges against the Moorers: one count each of murder, kidnapping, and obstruction of justice, and two counts each of indecent exposure. The indecent exposure charges come after Sidney Moorer said he had relations with his wife in his car, according to Moorer's attorney, Kirk Truslow.

Bond denied; Texts, phone calls unveiled in Heather Elvis case hearing

Here is the timeline that the prosecution presented of Dec. 18:

1:35 am.. phone call from pay phone by Sidney to Heather.. call is 4:53 minutes

1:44 Heather calls (person unidentified) who is in Florida at the time. And says Sidney just called and is leaving Tammy. Heather appears upset because she had been trying to get her life back on track after the affair and the harassment by Tammy. Heather is still at her home when she makes this call. The call lasts 2:20 minutes.

2:29 Heather attempts to call the number Sidney called from which is a pay phone. Several times it does not appear anyone answered.

3:16 am Heather attempts to call Sidney's phone with no response.

3:17 am .. Heather calls Sidney's phone and has a 4:15 minutes conversation with Sidney. Heather is at her home at this point. Sidney is at his home which is approx. 3 miles from the boat landing. After this conversation, Heather gets into her car and drives directly to Peachtree Boat Landing. Sidney also denies this conversation until police confront him with Heather's phone record and then he says he did talk to her but it was just to tell her to quit calling and leave them alone.


3:38 am.. Heather attempts to call Sidney's phone. She has arrived at the boat landing at the time of this call. She attempts to call at 3:39, 3:39:46 and 3:41..

Her phone data ends at that point. 3:41 am.


3:36 am.. A private residence video surveillance captures a vehicle coming from the direction of Sidney's headed towards the boat landing. This camera is 1.7 miles from the Moorer's residence.

3:39 am ... a business video surveillance a mile from the first camera closer to the landing captures this vehicle still proceeding in the direction of the boat landing.

3:45 am.. same business video surveillance captures the vehicle coming from the boat landing headed towards the Moorer residence. The camera is approximately 1.2 miles from the landing.

3:46 am the private residence video surveillance captures the vehicle headed from the boat landing to the Moorer residence.

In his decision to withhold bond, the Judge John said he did so because of the seriousness of the charges, the nature of case and the potential penalty that the defendants face.

The judge also said he was concerned with potential of violence whether caused by defendants or victim's side.

Horry County denies request for documents related to Heather Elvis case

A request for documents related to the murder of 20-year-old Heather Elvis was denied by Horry County officials Monday.

The Sun News filed a Freedom of Information Act request for documents detailing what was found during executions of search warrants at the home of Sidney and Tammy Moorer, who are charged with Elvis’ murder.

Horry County spokeswoman Lisa Bourcier said the results of the search warrants are exempt under state law because the information is to be used in a prospective law enforcement action or it would disclose investigatory techniques not otherwise known outside of the government.

Horry County Solicitor Jimmy Richardson said his office considers the investigation of Elvis’ disappearance and murder ongoing.
