HEROS - Please feel free to add one (or two)

To pick a person that is well known...John Walsh. He has done SO much for the missing and to help seek justice for many families.

To pick a private person...it would be my father (deceased). He was a Shriner and did so much for children and people of all ages but mostly he was a wonderful role model and I feel fortunate to have been raised by my parents.

My husband is my personal hero. He was a volunteer firefighter for years, rendered aid to strangers in need on the highways almost daily.
I could tell a 1000 stories of his kindness to others.
Right before halloween he suffered a major life altering, death defying health trauma. He is in rehab now working to regain his former abilities.
It is an uphill battle and a never ending struggle to overcome, adapt and compensate. He is winning each small victory baby step by baby step.
He is inspiring and a testament to the strenght of the human spirit. We are capable of enduring great hardships, meet difficult challenges, and rise and prosper over great adversity.

I know Kelly Jolkowski, Mother of Missing Jason Jolkowski, has already been mentioned but she wows me with all that she does for the missing AND their families.

Its sometimes easy to overlook the fact that she too is a heartbroken mother with a missing child. Yet while she searches she extends a comforting presence to others.

A hero indeed!

I have to comment; it's amazing how life can change so suddently; you are BOTH heroes because he couldn't be so strong without your strength.

I agree that Mark Lunsford is a hero. His mission to keep other children from suffering the same horrible fate as Jessica is so admirable.

I think that all parents who have suffered the nightmare of losing a child and turns that grief into helping to save other children are true heroes!

Oprah for all she does to find and convict child sexual offenders as well as her other philanthropic efforts.
