The Marine Corps said Monday Master Sgt. Nathaniel Cosby is charged with murder and other charges, including patronizing a prostitute.
An Article 32 hearing will be held Wednesday. The hearing is the military's equivalent of a preliminary hearing in civilian court, where it will be determined whether Cosby should be court-martialed.
Master Sgt. Nathaniel L. Cosby was charged today with the unpremeditated murder of Ivanice "Ivy" Harris. He also faces charges of murder while engaging in an inherently dangerous act, voluntary manslaughter, obstructing justice, and patronizing a prostitute.
A Marine will face a general court martial for the alleged murder of Ivanice "Ivy" Harris in Waikiki on May 16, a Marine Corps spokesman said.
Master Sgt. Nathanial Cosby, 39, will be arraigned on Nov. 21 on charges of unpremeditated murder, voluntary manslaughter, obstruction of justice and patronizing a prostitute.
He is being held at the Pearl Harbor brig.
It will be interesting as this first round hearing is just for the court martial. I see they are charging him with voluntary manslaughter for the death of the unborn child.
Since this entire case is federal, I foresee that after the trial is all said and done, the federal prosecutors will be going after and charging Ivy's pimp boyfriend for sex trafficking, especially since the trafficking was (and still is) of young women and was done online.
Skeezy Sleazy or (whatever his name is) will be on their short list soon!
One of the suspects, Mark Miles Jr., 36, is accused of taking Ivanice "Ivy" Harris to Hawaii in May 2012 and May 2013 for prostitution. She was killed in May 2013.
Back in Portland, Miles is one of eight men charged with violating the Mann Act and the Travel Act by transporting women to Hawaii, Alaska, Nevada, Idaho and Minnesota for prostitution. Federal indictments were unsealed in those cases Monday.
A Mann Act violation carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. A Travel Act violation carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

I don't know if Ivy's murder was the start of the investigation, but I'm glad her "boyfriend" won't be getting off scott free.
.The Marine Corps announced Thursday that Master Sgt. Nathaniel Cosby's trial is scheduled for the week of April 21.
Cosby will face a general court-martial in the death of Ivanice Harris, of Las Vegas
A Marine who admitted killing a prostitute in his Waikiki hotel room May 16 was found guilty Thursday of murder while engaging in an inherently dangerous act, a crime punishable by a maximum of life in prison without the possibility of parole
The sentencing portion of the court-martial will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday, with the defense calling character witnesses.
Cosby says he acted in self-defense after Harris pulled out a knife that was hidden in her lipstick tube, and got rid of her body to avoid embarrassment to his family and to the Marine Corps.
