There is a strange case of sexual assault against Jeff and Mary.
It's easy to find. The case looks sketchy. He never served time. Looks like the DA thought it would never hold up and told them to take the 5th.
Then the judge found her story credible. Looks like he served no time.
Just told to stay away. I think that's what the searcher talked about when he said Jeff was burnt by someone he tried to help. Looks like her husband was her lawyer.
Maybe they waited long enough for the case to blow over. Then...
Payback time.
I wonder about the truck too. It looked backed in in the shot I saw. Strange...

I only have a phone. But the search was easy.

well, that was an interesting read!

My own feeling is if someone harmed him, it was a more recent grudge
I don't know why, its just a feeling

as Dushi said: that was an interesting read. Following up on it I noticed that somebody posted info about the case to give bad reviews to Jeff's plumbing business (though the most recent I saw was more than a year ago) and that the person who brought the case against Jeff and Mary subsequently brought a case against one of the lawyers involved (I think Mary's). This was all a pretty long time ago so it probably has no bearing on the current situation, but interesting nonetheless.

ok. We are all trying to tip toe around the elephant in the room. I feel like this is not getting things solved because its not based on fact. Remember when I say this that none of this makes Jeff a bad person. He had anger issues. He absoultely could walk away from his family. He would never be able to walk away and act dead even if he wanted to. He needs is mom's backing alot and how can hyou start over once you've upset her needlessly? Jeff was charasmatic. If you didn't live with him on an everyday basis, you mostly picked up on the good aspects to Jeff. I really don't want to say my connection to Jeff, just suffice it to say at one time we were close. Jeff fought like a pit bull. He never quit a fight. someone snuck up on him or he trusted them or trusted the person who set up the meeting. Jeff was a cop about 5 yrs or so. He went to two acadamies as was a really good cop. He served in the south central L.A. area. Think hot zone for rodney king riots. someone killed him. I think over business.

I agree Lee1968. After skimming this thread, my initial and strong impression is that this fellow was murdered over a business dealing. There is also a remote possibility of retribution by some ex felon related to his police work, but I see that as being far less of a possibility than business related.

And sorry to ask such a potentially insensitive question, but how was he getting along with his wife? If he was a hot head type of guy, were there any issues of domestic violence? Did she have a "friend" that might have had issue with Jeff? Again, apologies for the insensitivity of that question, but it should be considered, as everything should be.

Why did he leave the police force after only five years?

You need a tracker and cadaver dogs to search the area.....now. Start where the truck was found, go from there. If not in the caves, he is at rest in the water.

I met Jeff whe he was 16 and I was 18. We were married for about 10 yrs and we have two now adult daughters which he didnt raise. I am angered that someone had the gall to end his life. I have been talking to a close friend of both of us. We agree that the reinvented story of Jeff is not going to help bring him home. Rubio and others who knew him in various times of his life will remember the characteristics that he so often had. The extremely charasmatic Jeff and the extremely violent Jeff. That's Jeff. I can understand his need to re-invent himself. So did I. That's what people tend to do whenever they leave a bad situation. Shake it off and move forward. However, I think that there were people he didnt shake off that kept him from fully breaking free. Diffrent people from different times along the way. No, not possible its police related. do I think him capable of leaving his wife and child? yes. Do I think he did? no.

As you may have noticed, Im trying not to say too much. It's just that If I dont, people tend to start down a wrong path. I don't want to waste time and everyone's helpful thoughts by allowing people to go down rabbit holes. But it's a fine line because Jeff's life is his gig. I just want him found and some peace for my mother in law.

Lee, I am really sorry that you and your family are going through this right now. The wondering with no new information even for those of us that never knew him is so frustrating. So, are you thinking it is someone from the mainland or someone that he met in Hawaii since he moved here that may be involved? Just your gut feeling. Did any of his California friends move over to Hawaii, too?

It took a lot of guts to post what you did. <3

I hope your life is happier, and safer, now.

I believe every word lee is posting; rings true.

Lee, you know in your gut. Who do you think did this?
If you cant post it here, then please work with the detective.
I think in your heart you can really narrow it down....

Maybe both. A combo.
I don't know. Something wont leave me alone. Somehow it's both. Oh, who knows?

Hey! SF? you're near me! Can you do me a favor? or anyone who reads this? The day before yesterday, my mother in law, jeffs mom, said they were putting out another press release. Can anyone find it for me? As far as I know there is no police investigation so therefore no detective?

The consensus seems to be it would have taken more than one person so very possible. Back to the boots. Do you know what days those were found on? One person found the boot out in the open one day and then the nephew found the second one wedged in the rocks later? Is that what you are getting? It would make sense that once the first boot was found that searchers, including your nephew, would have been meticulous in looking in that area to find any clues. What is puzzling to me and at least 4 others that I know, how was it that the person that found the first boot thought to look in that particular location? As I have shown in the YouTube video on an earlier post, Jeff's acreage is not at all close to where his boots were found.

I firmly believe the only reason there were any news videos/interviews is because there was a reporter here covering the lava flow heading towards Pahoa. That threat is now diminished so there are no reporters from HNL here now. Missing people here don't get alot of coverage so, if Jeff's family had a press conference, it might be that only the local newspaper would be there. That would be the Hilo Tribune Herald but it has nothing new online.

I had read that his family had hired/was hiring private investigators. LE may be viewing this as an adult who may be missing of his own accord. There doesn't seem to be any evidence of a crime even though family members and friends feel that something criminal has happened to him. I hope that the situation resolves itself no matter what has happened. Lee, you and other family and friends have my sympathy while you wait for news.

I don't think it was his nephew who found his boot, but KD, an employee.

Thank you for all your insight. From what you and Rubio have written about Jeff from the past, I don't think much has changed over the years from talking to friends here. I think his personality was one and the same. He just lived in a different state. That being said, Hawaii is a very different state from California. And there is one thing that really stuck out to me when speaking to his friend. While he didn't give details, and he too seemed to really struggle wanting to tell me more, but feeling he had to keep quiet for some reason. I want to say this as eloquently as possible but I am trying to figure out how to say it in a way that doesn't offend anyone and I can't quote him as I don't have the exact words still in my memory. But, this was the meaning. Jeff could get along great with the locals and often it was like he was a local himself. BUT...in the blink of an eye he could bring this whole other mentality which was being the biggest "haole" with an outsider attitude. Now, was this what got him into trouble? I don't know. It could have been that and $$. I think $$ plays a part in almost everything.
its aa marketing term he learned and perfected. it's called mirror and pace and I'm afraid that our friend rubio is a perfect example. You mirror what you think someone needs you to be. Then you pace the same pace as them and they become comfortable around you because you are "just like them". You tell them they things about you that are somewhat the facts but definately spun. all humans do this. The cunning perfect it. He was so intellegent. But sometimes, intellegence is a hinderance in these situations.
