I think everyone is different. My husband would never be on a site like this, even if I was missing. Unless my disappearance was related to my internet activities, I doubt he'd be digging online at all. Just not his thing, and he'd rely on other family members to do anything like that.

This case has so many quirky twists and turns...getting dizzy. But at least some info is coming out now!

Meek's mother, Sandra, confirms that funds are missing from his business and an accountant discovered other discrepancies.

I do hope LE is interviewing everyone that worked for Jeff as well as all family members
I wonder when he found out about the financial discrepancies
JM had a bad temper, wonder how he handled this news

So a friend who happened to know Jeff has critical information about employees and is mistaken for Jeff thinking he is in a disguise including dreadlocks and a Santa hat heading for San Jose. You can't even make this kind of stuff up! This could be a made-for-tv movie. So Jeff looked sad and stressed because his employees were stealing from him. Surely a lot of other people close to Jeff had to know about this. Seems like critical information that should have been released a lot sooner. Perhaps the disgruntled employees banned together to get revenge. They would have needed to know he was going to the Point that morning, if he ever made it there in the first place. Oh my word! I am just thinking of which actors should play these parts in the movie.

I had come to this same possible conclusion and now am reading what you posted and it is along the same lines that I was thinking. He was on meth when he lived in Dana Point. Along with Mary. I have not seen Jeff personally in a long time but looking at his pics over the internet he started to look thinner and older rather quickly which meth could have done to him. I dont know if Mary would have been any part of it since she was pregnant. But she cannot be ruled out.

I was going over the idea that possibly Jeff was using again and in order to cover up the money he was spending on the drugs he blamed his employees and said they were stealing that way Mary and his Mother would not question the missing cash. This is a very real possibility. I do not want to tarnish the reputation of someone that is not here to defend himself but I feel without the truth the truth will never be found.

Now with the backstory of employees stealing Jeff made sure to tell alot of people. The more people that hear a story the more believable it may become.

I have been wondering all this time why his Mom or his Wife have not been very verbal throughout this whole ordeal. There are only a couple things that I know keep people quiet in a situation like this. One of them is the police asking the family to keep quiet. The other would be as Rubio had discussed, drugs. If Mary and the mom knew or figured out he was on drugs they are not going to want to tarnish his name. If people found out that he was on drugs the search for him may come to a stand still.

As far as airport look alike in article. I dont see the resemblance myself. I am wondering if maybe the people who pointed out him thought it was jeff's dealer and the police did not want to accuse the guy of that or they did not want it known that he was pointed out as the dealer. So many questions.

I forgot to mention the fact that it seems noeone else knew jeff was going to that property. But, if he was buying dope,and keeping the fact of that hidden from everybody, then he may have been there doing a dope deal. Or even told his dopeman that he was going to come by and pick something up on his way out to his property. Therefore the incident could have occured wherever he met the dopeman and the dopeman knowing where jeff was going, could have dumped his truck there.

I did not see any tools for clearing the land in the back of the pickup truck either. I think someone else mentioned this also.

I find it a bit odd that this guy at the airport who was reported as being Jeff, turned out to be someone who knew him.. knew him well enough to know about his business problems

JMHO and all that

When I review the video and the shot of the inside of the cab of that truck, I do not believe that Jeff Meek was on that property to clear land
That requires tools and there aren't any in the truck
Does he have a shed or something on property to store things?

That is certainly possible. I shared this back on the first of the thread but for those that didn't read it... When I was there at the Point there were a couple of people sitting under a tent at the side of the road not far from the dead end gated community. They had a flyer of Jeff up. I thought they were with the search but they said they weren't but were asked if they could put up a flyer. Not sure why they were there but there is a lot of industrial type buildings off the road behind them. In talking to the woman there, her first thought was it had something to do with all the meth activity in the area. At the time I thought Jeff could have been an innocent target for someone on meth.
She didn't know Jeff so I believe that was her thought as well. But now, after hearing from those that knew him, that may very well have been his meeting place. 20 acres would require a lot of clearing tools, preferably a tractor with a mower attached, not hand tools.

From the videos it looked like vacant land and no buildings.

Dav....I feel i'm talking and questioning too much and he and I are divorced. I just think that maybe if people would just come clean about anything that was going on even if it didn't fit the ideal life picture, we can get to the bottom of this and bury him. This is wrong. All this time. It could be meth. I dont know but me and the girls would like to put an ending to this chapter.

Agreed. I honestly dont care whether he was out there to clear the land, give a church sermon, or to buy meth. I just want to find him or what happened to him. No matter he was still my friend. The silence is what is killing it for all of us commenting on here. The reason there is so much silence is that anybody doing drugs is not going to want to talk to the cops or media. It is going to be tough to get any answers if that is the case.

I brought up the tools questions earlier. IMO this is something that will make the story not plausible. If there was nothing to "clear the land" with, the excuse makes no sense. So therefore, there would be a different reason for JM (if he ever was there) and the truck to be on the lot. His mother was the person who mentioned that the tools were not missing, but she was still in CA and it was a phone interview. Perhaps she asked if the truck was vandalized and someone??? said no, because his tools are still there.

Of course someone may not have thought that the tools/clearing the land would be questioned. Hmmm, clearing the land....that sounds reasonable. Oops, JM is missing and now we don't have any land clearing tools in the truck. Oh well, who will notice that....WS and (I assume) LE will. Does this help find Jeff....likely no but it just adds to the mystery of the situation.
