Sorry if I'm not doing this right. I've never been on a site like this. I can't help it if we know him. I just want the answer. It's just that dav7070 and I really will try anything to figure out what happened. I'm not content to just let him go to protect a fairytale. I, my husband and the girls, want to know.
My apologies, I did not intend for that to make you feel like you're doing anything wrong. You're definitely not.

I just meant to comment that this one is tougher than usual.

Just a small tidbit......To answer the question about the boots and the cowboy hat, it's not uncommon attire for the BI. The north part of the island is ranch land (Waimea) and I see that "look" a lot; everywhere. Someone who lives on island full time can probably answer this better but my perception is the rancher look isn't as common on the east side and Puna. Still, a hat and boots wouldn't surprise me.

My heart goes out to friends and family.

my suprise stems from the fact that in the almost 30 yrs i've known him, he always made fun of cowboy gear and I never saw him in any.

but then again, he never was trying to be a farmer in hawaii before either.

Lee1968--the political/race thing is a real angle to this story. I was born 1954/raised on Oahu, attended Hilo U.H. in 1975, and the locals do not like Haoles--especially folks from the mainland coming to the islands and buying land, etc. If Jeff had to fire his office emoyees because of missing money and unauthorized gas charges to his company charge account then the possibility exists that his employees might have been worried about legal issues--and out of fear and/or anger disposed of him. However, the issue of hardcore locals not welcoming White outsiders is very real. Check out how many people are currently missing on the Big Island, as well as the circumstances to their disappearance. I hope Jeff is found. And I hope the best for you and the rest of his family.

Now Im wondering if any of the employees were hawaiian.

However, I was speaking about an actual political race he was in or going to be in in hilo. I wish I could remember what office. I think it was for representative.

Here's a pic of the boot from the KHNL slideshow in the video link lucky181 posted:

View attachment 63522

Weblink to boot pic found either on Monday or Tuesday: http://m.hawaiinewsnow.com/hawaiinewsnow/db_330510/contentmedia.htm?contentguid=PgnBe2io&mediaIndex=3

It's very out in the open. We need to get some testimony from a searchparty member who can say for certain that they looked in that specific area prior to Monday, and that there was no boot. Who searched that spot? Evidence of the boots and cellphone being moved after Saturday morning is crucial to determining if this was an accident or foul play.

His phone went straight to voicemail for me all 8 times I called him on Saturday from 3:30PM - 9pm, once Monday at 5PM and three times Wednesday at 2PM. How could it be "pinged" on Tuesday? I want to know who pinged it at Kaumana caves and what that means.

Thank you forum members for your insightful commentary and investigating. Jeff always had my back, just like he would anyone's. I've seen him selflessly share all he could to help his friends, stretching resources for his own family thin, only to be stabbed in the back by those who owed him their gratitude. Please, Jeff, not again. Give us a clue.

Sincerely,
A dear friend.
Just noticed this post. Bobby, what do you mean by not again?

My wife was asking me the same questions. It seems strange that he would have just deleted his side of the texts. Possibly he never responded to any of those three texts. The thing that I dont understand is that we are seeing three texts. 1. Hot water heater? 2. ......cools down and 3. Mary. It could just be the reporter making a mistake but she states that the last text jeff sent was to his nephew stating he was going to cools down. But that is not actually the last text sent from what we are looking at. There was one after that. The one that says Mary.

Ah I am so confused. I watch Hawaii Five O and Mcgarret and Danno always seem to find the answers. Why could real life not be so simple.

Every day several times throughout the day, more times than I can count, I am asking myself "what happened to you Jeff. Damnit give us some clues."

I appreciate the fact that even with the "zero" amount of information we are receiving from the press that members on this site are still trying to post up their thoughts on some of the questions that are being asked.

I had asked Jeff's mom a couple questions through Facebook chat about how she was doing and just giving her my support. Then I sent her a message yesterday asking if there had been anymore updates. Explaining I was not seeing anything in the press and I was hoping that the private investigators were still turning over new clues and leads that I was just not hearing about. I dont want the investigation to stall and it looks like it has from my end. I told her I did not want any details but if she could at least let me know if there was still progress being made. She saw my question but never answered it. So really I am left in the dark and I dont have the heart to ask her again since she did not respond the first time. I cant imagine the emotions she is feeling and I just dont want to bother her. So I am in this forum airing out my questions, emotions and feelings in these posts. I appreciate everyone taking their time to discuss. This may sound silly or corny but I had not realized until now how much this site has actually helped me to get through each day.
Hey. What if the first text, the water heate was the pic of the fake job and he sends that pic to jason to show him the "Big Job" or "emergency" that he got sent to? second t ext is that he's angry about the job being not a big deal. What if the third text is an answer to Jason asking him "who sent you to that???"? and he says....mary. Now maybe the police have seen those texts and dont want him to show his side for evidence reasons. You know, like info not released to the public to trap the perp. and the text abt im stuck in the mud was that he was stuck at the fake job/assault scene? There have been quotes that it wasnt stuck in the mud where it got dropped off at the property.

double entendre (sic) for jeff. that makes me laugh! meat is murder is also a punk album title. He was a punk rocker. lol. very funny jeff
No I don't know if he struggled with depression. I never saw it or heard of it.

He was a Metro Police Officer. When they were disbanded he didn't transfer.
It was for about six years I believe. But I talked to Jeff about it. He was jaded but knew the way the world and people could be. Jeff knew and understood the " criminal element".

Could he walk away. He did from his life here and quickly.
But he kept Mary with him. He loved her. After having children with her I say the Jeff I knew would never just walk away. He just wasn't like that. He would want to protect them.
I think he wouldn't leave his family.
That makes this tough.
It doesn't add up.
My mother struggles with depression. Jeff watched her go through it with me. He was kind and understanding and helped me.
If he has those tendencies I would have seen them.
But he was at the age where people crack.
They question the life they live. Maybe he there. A good friend talked to him on Facebook and said his it's were a bit "dark" in the days before this happened. but they turned normal a few days before he was gone.

That's why who saw him is important.
How was he??
To me it doesn't make much sense.
That's why I suspect the worst.
It's all out of character.

I'm asking more questions than I answer.

For all he was I loved him.
We were different yet the same in many ways.

He had all these wild surf moves had had names for ( while posing on the nose)

My favorite was. "The hairdresser "
He held a mirror ( his hand )
While he smoothed the little hair he had.
It was classic.

Throwing a cutback while making a face at me with. " meat is murder "
Stayed huge on the bottom of his board.
Mary was a vegetarian. He joined her in that and went "all in."

He loved her.
It's tough.

Here's a picture of Jeff from earlier this year doing some plumbing work at a charter school.....wearing his cowboy hat and boots.

Perhaps the political office was state house representative in the 4th district. The incumbent had issues and there were several people running against her in the democratic primary however Jeff wasn't one of them.

http://ballotpedia.org/Hawaii_House_of_Representatives_elections,_2014

I think he was a republican. I dont know if he did run or if he said he would. I just know that my youngest said her nana told her he was. Mary told her that there was some type of retribution on her car that she had taken to a shop that was owned by the opponents family.

You know, I might be wrong but I really feel that they were not assimulating well with the locals. In general, I mean. It just seems like they were pissing alot of people off.

I'm not able find the source for this but I read that the rims were stolen off Mary's car. I read it either in
a FB post or a Hawaii News Now article.

I agree. I'm afraid that if someone hasn't cracked under pressure by now, no one will.

I found this Website while looking for the latest news about Jeff. I was part of a team that searched the area on November 13th.

The Meek property is mostly a steep hill and has no structures on it. Most of it is covered in tall, thick foliage. I doubt that Jeff went there to “work” on it, for motorized equipment would be necessary to make any significant improvements. If he went there to do anything regarding that property, I suspect it was to plan his dwellings. I definitely would not drive a two-wheel-drive pickup truck there until a road is carved. It is too steep, and especially in the morning the foliage is slick with moisture. A Jeep or ATV would be more suitable.

None of us found anything of interest in the area. One of the team members is of the opinion that the truck was not stuck but simply parked there because there are no wheel wells that would have been created had the truck been engaged repeatedly in forward and reverse to become free.

Finding bodies on this island is extremely difficult because of the ocean, lava fissures, and rain forests. A Michigan man went missing on Mauna Kea in 2007. His remains were not found until 2013—and he was out in the open.

Welcome, James! Glad you found this forum!
Hello James! Thank you for your post. I have not seen that website, but I have been of the opinion that the truck wasnt stuck there at all, but planted there. If Jeff were stuck in the mud, he wouldbeen pissed and screaming the whole time he was going back and forth trying to get out. The pic of the truck, while not the best, does not show mud splatter on the sides of the truck that I can see. Plus, he would have made it look like a definate crime scene w/o a doubt. Many have said that it just looks like the truck was backed up onto the property and abandoned. however, I take no comfort in the part about the michigan man. I think a reward for info needs to go out. If it is a meth thing, a lot of people who are desperate may come forward with the scuttlebutt.

If Jeff was murdered and someone besides the killer has knowledge of the crime, sometimes months, or years (I hope not!), later, relationships change. Friendships fall apart, the killer and his girlfriend break up (or he divorces his wife). These types of changes often lead to information coming out.
