Thanks for coming back, dav. Ok, that explains about the search. They must have gotten a late start. I was there at 10:45 so they hadn't made it yet. The Boiling Pots is a river of waterfalls and tiny ponds that connect to each other that lead down to Rainbow Falls and then to the ocean.

My daughter is trying to explain the terrain to me of and around Hilo. Is there a town nearby that he could be at?

Lee, do you mean a town where Jeff could be living and/or hiding? The towns are pretty small other than Hilo, Kona, and Waimea. I guess he could live off the grid but if he wasn't one to rough it, I can't see that as an option.

Pahoa is the town where the "mellow people" hitchhike to. If you want to hide, Pahoa is the place; however, it is about 30 miles from where his truck was.

Anyone know the present disposition of the Meek truck? Today in Hilo I saw a very similar-looking one with license plate HLW 957.

Yesterday, Sunday, I went back to The Point. I believe I found Jeff's lot. If I was looking at the correct one there has been some random mowing of a good portion of it. There was a missing poster nearby and with the rain the poster, although covered in plastic, is starting to see the wear and tear of the elements. I parked at The Point and the missing poster at the gate is in much better shape or has been replaced. I saw a couple walking their dog and then made the walk back down where the boots were. Nothing out of place, just the beautiful cove with gentle waves coming in. It is a very peaceful place down there. It is quite a steep walk back up as I was winded. On my way out a woman was asking if there were other people down there. I told her no. She wondered where all the people were as there were several cars parked at the entrance. I couldn't answer that. I asked if she saw the poster, which she said she had not. I then explained about Jeff's disappearance as I didn't want her walking down there without her being aware. She decided she would make a go of it but said she hope she didn't go missing. Jokingly I asked her what her first name was just in case. I guess she made it ok as I heard of no more missing people as of late. I took a couple pictures down there but I don't know if they are of any value to post.

Sorry, guys. Busy time for me and I had my husbands family here for an unexpected visit. A bit hard to explain to them. Has there been anything else on the news or in the media?

Now offering reward??? After ten weeks??? Jeffs mom also states that Jeff made six calls for help before he disappeared. I wish we could find out who the other calls were to, the times they were made and all the important facts needed to be able to wrap our heads around this. I still cant make heads nor tails of any of it. Also, did you notice that jeffs wife mary is not at all in the news story. She is not making any plea for information on the whereabouts of Jeff. The only footage of Mary is old clips they put into the latest video. Nothing from her at all.

And does anyone have a ballpark on how much the lot is worth that he supposedly disappeared from. It seems to me that if a family has enough money to purchase that lot then the reward would be higher. Just my opinion though. I love Jeffs mom she was always good to me. She has been part of my life for a long long time but I still cannot bring myself to ask her the questions that I want to.

I believe Lucky (WS member) said it was purchased for in the upper $200,000s or low $300,000s. I will ask her. There has been so little information that I don't think this thread is getting much traffic anymore.

nah not much traffice not enough info. Everyone has been a great help in opening up the ideas of several scenarios but we can only go so far with limited info. I have another scenario that I do not want to share on here due to the fact there may be readers I do not want to see what I am going to say. If you have an interest I will private message it to you but I just dont want it public is all. thanks

I noticed that too, dav. Sandy never mentions Mary. Feels like a distancing. Also, why is he now 50k in debt? wasnt she just quoted as saying the company was worth a few hundred thou a year? Maybe the p.i. finding out something.

I know what your theory is. You couldd be right. I just don't like the part sandy has to have in it. You know she raised me too.
