Any news? I can't find anything on google. Just the same article over and over... These children need their mother. Loida, where are you?
:please:

I am also on the lookout for news, but still nothing.

Looking at Loida's facebook pics, she looks like someone who is very, very missed and loves her boys.

I wish a reporter would dig into something about the ex who is now back in jail. That seems interesting. Where was he? His past is disturbing.

Sadness. I woke up and thought about her today, and was looking for good news --- but again, none.

Bumping for Loida. Why did this story fall off of the local news? Last article posted approx 10 days after her disappearance. So heartbreaking.

Hi all, I found (and signed up for) websleuths because of this thread... I hope loida is found or she comes home soon.

I don't watch the news or anything, but what led me to loida is something a bit coincidental. Some time around mothers day, I had been on craigslist looking for a job and I saw constant job-ads from some "rich executive" type, looking for a "fabulous female assistant." The post was ridiculous because the guy couldn't have been a respected and all that rich businessman. He boasted how you would fly on a private jet and had to wear evening gowns and accompany him to fancy parties etc.

I went back to the list, laughing it off when I saw another posting a few links up the list that said RE: Fabulous Female Assistant. Now, we all know that's someone complaining or giving us a warning about a terrible employer or a scam. So I opened it. The person had warned everyone NOT to ever reply to that post and claimed that the "rich executive" was really a human trafficker. The warning said that we'd end up on a business trip on a private jet to another country and never return, sold as a sex slave.

For some reason, this made a lot of sense to me and I just had this horrible feeling. I decided to see just how many posts that guy had. He had one almost every single week for about two years. Could it have been that he just can't keep an assistant? Or was it something more? I decided to dig deeper.

Using my spokeo account (which I no longer have) I looked up his name and email. Absolutely. Nothing. no facebook, no phone number, no other social media accounts, no personal information -- save for one entry on ancestry.com that looked incredibly rigged.. almost as if to aid in him setting up an identity.

Next, this brings me to how I found out about Loida. Naturally, I searched for missing women on 'Oahu and she came up. Reported missing a day ago. It could've just been a coincidence... and I played it off as just that, because I found that there weren't very many missing women at all.. and the news didn't mention anything of her looking for a new job.

And then idk why but she popped into my head again a day ago. I know it's so far fetched but... does anyone think it was more than a coincidence for me to happen upon that stuff when loida disappeared?

Also... I think it's weird that no one mentioned why the car was safe and practically had no evidence.. and it was found in pearl city.. the opposite direction of her place of work.

Sorry for bringing up an old thread but... I just can't get her out of my head :( Needed to tell someone about it :/

I don't know whether to keep digging.. or give it up. I don't think the police will care about a random happenstance regarding a suspicious cragslist job ad...............................

thoughts?

Hi Kala, welcome to WS.

I think it is worth a try. After all, they seem to have nothing. The news doesn't even try to report.

(I was wondering if the case was downplayed because of tourism, but idk)

Family of missing woman still trying to find closure
For her brother, there are still many unanswered questions.
“She was very kind to me. Every time that I needed help from her, she was always there for me,” Gabon said.

Now, her brother is giving back. He’s taking care of her three boys, ages 13, 9, and 7. He’s in the process of legally adopting them.

I wanted to bump this case up. I am searching for new information about the entire case. I'll update if I come up with anything. Has anyone here learned anything new? I am in Hawaii, for nearly five years, and just moved to Waipahu and saw the flyer yesterday.

Thank you,

Teraisa

It is terrible and inexcusable how the HPD has put very little effort into locating Loida Wideman. She has been missing for over three years and there aren't any updates on her possible whereabouts. Her vehicle was found in proximity to a dumpster in Pearl City; using a pair of Loida's shoes blood hounds traced her scent from the vehicle to the dumpster. Honolulu law enforcement should have immediately searched all trashed gathered from that dumpster from the evening the vehicle was missing to when it was found a few days later. If it meant having to dig through the landfill, they should have done that. Something of evidential value might have been discarded in that dumpster. As it stands today, Loida Wideman remains a missing person cold case when in all likelihood she's more likely deceased. There are far too many missing person cases on Oahu, Hawaii, and Maui. It appears that Hawaii law enforcement takes a backseat approach when a citizen goes missing, unless the family of the missing person takes to the streets and starts investigating with huge community support. In my opinion, there should be an ongoing investigation for all missing persons not accounted for, and Hawaii law enforcement needs a community-based watch group who oversees search activity efforts in locating lost citizens.

Circumstances of Disappearance Loida WIDEMAN was last seen leaving her Waipahu residence for work in her vehicle at about 2130 hours on 5-13-12. Loida never showed for work, and failed to return home the next morning. Loida's vehicle was later found unoccupied in the Pearl City area.

She's never coming back, LE dropped the ball on this one massively.
