<<McDonald was last seen leaving his residence in on Kanalani Place in Sunset, Hawaii on May 20, 1976. He was driving a maroon 1970 Toyota pickup truck with the Hawaii license plate number 534-194 and told his roommate he was going to visit a friend in Kahuku. He never returned home and has never been heard from again. On May 25, his truck was found in the parking lot of Swanzy Beach Park.

After McDonald went missing, there were rumors that he was murdered by two acquaintances in a dispute over drugs. A private investigator his parents hired to find him believes he was planning to collect on a $1,500 debt at the time of his disappearance.

No one has ever been charged in his case, and he has never been located.>>

<<Robbie graduated in 1971 from James Campbell High School in Ewa Beach, Hawaii. Date of death is a guesstimate, his remains are unknown. Rumor has it that he was murdered and his remains were put in the ocean. His case is listed as a missing person.

Robbie was the only son of Mac and Germaine McDonald (both deceased). Germaine was a teacher at Campbell. One of the subjects she taught was the French language, the country where she was born.>>

I'm seeing something of a resemblance between Robert and one of Gacy's unidentified (Robert on left, Body 21 victim on right, I see the resemblance in the eyes and somewhat in the chin):

After he disappeared, Robert's vehicle was located late May 1976, Body 21 is thought to have died sometime between early August and late October of that year. Robert lived all the way out in Hawaii, but at the time around his disappearance was collecting a sizable debt, and evidently there's a tie-in with drugs. Am seeing Robert was wearing a Seiko watch with gold band and black face at time of disappearance.

I know it's the Sun, but they have images I've never seen before of objects Gacy evidently had in his possession, objects they speculate were belongings of victims. I see a couple of gold watches in there, cannot determine the make. Here's one of the watches:

To me, that looks a little like this vintage70s Seiko Disco Volante:

It's highly unlikely Body 21's Robert considering the geography, but Gacy's divorce would have been just recently finalized around this time, and he was known to do quite a bit of traveling. Also, considering the suspicious nature of Robert's disappearance, am guessing it's not at all impossible that he for whatever reason decided to completely leave the area. He might have gone elsewhere for unknown reasons and met with a tragic fate relatively shortly thereafter. Still, it's unlikely. But can't help but notice what imo is a resemblance.

Given the circumstances (and rumors), location on Oahu of missing and discovery of vehicle, and lack of contact - I don't believe it's very likely he left the island.
