Remains have been found about 200 yards offshore in the area where the two teens were last known to be. Not yet identified. So tragic. :(

Samantha Chun, 17, and Joseph Fujioka, 18, were reported missing following their disappearance on Friday night. They were last seen near Ke Iki Beach, their car parked on the street close by, their belongings found undisturbed on the sand. A multiple agency search for the teens ensued.

But on Tuesday, officials ended their search. And human remains – yet to be identified – were found some 200 yards offshore, in the same waters where the teens were last known to have been.

This is so sad - 30-40 foot waves reported. I'm glad they at least found them for closure and burial. My heart goes out to their families.

The remains have been identified as Joey. Sammy is still missing.

Days after a massive search was called off, the tragic news that human remains match the DNA of Joey Fujioka, one of the teens who vanished a week ago on Oahu's North Shore.

"I just ask that God gives both of the families peace in this tragedy," said Pat Arakawa.

Joey was with his girlfriend Sammy Chun when the couple went missing.

In a statement, the Chun family said they're holding out hope that Sammy will be found and brought home safely.

"At the same time, we grieve deeply for Joey's family and the unimaginable loss they are enduring. Our hearts are with them, and we share in their pain during this tragic time. We trust in the ongoing efforts of law enforcement and the kindness of those around us. Please continue to keep Sammy, Joey, and our families in your thoughts and hearts."
