Found Safe HI - U.S. Navy Seaman Shaun Palmer, Marine Corps Base Kaneohe, Honolulu, 1 Jul 2018

This is a "help find" FB where the father is talking. I will wait for MSM to announce.

How many times have we heard LE say "we have no reason to believe foul play was involved" and they are wrong?... Jesus, that doesn't sit well with me.

Statistically speaking, though, they're right. The vast majority of missing people are gone voluntarily and return within a few days. A cop friend told me that in our small city, we usually have around 200-400 missing person reports per year, and only one or two long-term missing. That's two total, not annual.

Until they have talked to Shaun in person, they shouldn't say "no foul play involved " sometimes I don't understand LE .

I couldn't find the FB either but did see some rumors on there & links for fund raising. Nothing in MSM though.

I think it's okay to post this public page - it's a group for discussion of missing persons, law enforcement, lost and found, etc. There is a post here about SP.

What happens if someone goes AWOL?

You have to be logged into Facebook to see it, unfortunately.

It is frustrating, but there may be a method to the madness. They may suspect that foul play is involved, maybe even have a good idea who did it. Unfortunately you practically need a taped confession, video and audio of the crime and the perps own mother saying he did it in order to get a true conviction, not a plea deal or not guilt verdict due to one lone holdout.
Best to let a perp think he’s home free while they investigate, clear any innocent parties , possibly find the missing person alive, and build a fool proof case if there was foul play.

Mods, can we discuss the link that Ontario Mom posted from Stolen Stuff Hawaii? It changes everything.

I'm in the camp with other WS posters who find the text message to his parents suspicious. It's not like a perp hasn't gotten ahold of a victims phone before and tried to text as the victim to throw everyone off.

And for now, it seems to have worked, LE is saying now foul play suspected. This is not good. They need to find him and hear it from his own lips. Because if it is him, he is AWOL and when he returns, he'll have an Article 15 with the United States Navy. His corpsman career would be over.

The father posted in that group that his son is alive and off partying or something along those lines and that he is upset with him.

Yes, the father said in that facebook group (posted above) that Shaun has been seen "via video and is 101% alive and responsible for all decisions being made." His father also stated he has been trying to convince his son to turn himself in (to the marines.) His father's post is worth the read imo.

What a great Dad he has:). I hope Shaun will end this crazy situation now and come back.

Eye opening to say the least.

Oh my... I wonder what caused him to do this.

Wow. First of all I'm glad to hear Shaun is alive and kicking. I feel so bad for his family, being put in this situation. Shaun just tanked his military career. Maybe he's having a breakdown of some kind.

Eventually, Shaun's father will get to the bottom of this and Shaun will pay the consequences for his recent decisions. At least he's alive to do so.

I pray for the Palmer family and hope for a positive outcome.
