So let me get this straight....

Jeff, who allegedly showed the video to a woman, is still being charged.

But Mark, who allegedly recorded the video, is having those charges dropped?

Can anyone speculate on what the reasoning is in that? Apparently the Bobos know. But if LE drops the accessory charge against Mark, could they bring that charge back after the federal charges are finished?

2nd BBM: Yes, the charges against Mark have been dismissed without prejudice -- which means the state has the right to refile these charges against him in the future.

This is JMO but I think there is another reason that these "accessory charges" against Mark and Dylan have been "dismissed" for the time being ...

Both Mark and Dylan have federal charges:

- Mark is currently in jail on federal charges.

- Dylan WAS in jail on federal charges ... but when he was arrested for "tampering with evidence" and "rape" of Holly, he was OUT of federal prison ... and now Dylan is currently in jail for rape.

If you take her allegations as gospel fact, you end up with charges against JP, who was only someone who had a video and was nowhere near Holly, and you don't have anything provable against the guy who was actually said to be there and doing who-knows-what with Holly. Which seems to pretty much be where things look to be headed.

Does anyone know if this will be a real court appearance for ZA and JA on the 30th, or just some behind the scenes stuff? At the pretrial motions hearing, the attorneys will probably ask for a change of venue right?

The Discovery Date came and went, and we have no idea what was done and/or IF anything was done.

Everything associated with those two (& the rest of the deviants in this case)is weird! You need a scorecard to keep track of this cast of miscreants. They have managed to rack up strikes,strain the legal system,push all boundaries of decency & exhaust the resources of multiple federal and state agencies.:gaah:

The charges were dropped against Mark so they didn't have to answer any questions about the video. And they charged DA to keep him in jail, then dropped them before they had to have a hearing. Then launched the rape charges, again to keep him in jail. He said something about not getting a preliminary hearing on the rape charges. I'm not sure how that works.

He thought that DA was flat out lying to the public when he talked about dropping the charges because he faced federal charges. I tend to believe the defense attorney on that one. There's the "Oops, we forgot to bring him to the hearing" and then it's rescheduled, then the charges are conveniently dropped right before the upcoming hearing. They're working hard avoiding these hearings.

2nd BBM: The charges against Jeff P. -- Mark's half-brother -- have NOT been dropped.

So IMO, IF they did not want to discuss the video, they would have dropped the charges against JP as well.


3rd BBM: LE/TBI did NOT just "launch charges against Dylan - he admitted to rape.

4th BBM: JMO but I do not necessarily think it is to avoid the hearings, more in keeping their evidence "close to the vest." This is a "high profile case" and they know very well what can, and does happen, in high profile cases.

There are numerous perps and all have criminal records -- EXCEPT for JP.

The prosecutor only gets one shot for a conviction of this bunch of career criminals for the rape/kidnapping/murder of Holly ! So they are just getting and keeping their "ducks in a row."

I think that a lot can be read from the fact that LE talked with the Bobos before dropping the charges. Some may not agree with me but I think that the only reason the Bobos would agree with this is because LE convinced them that it would be more beneficial to cut a deal with Mark (the deal of dropping the charges) in exchange for valuable testimony to nail the ones charged with kidnapping and murder. The Bobos agreed; that says a lot.

I will confine this post to my thoughts as to Mark Pearcy's involvement in the case. I think( as others have already observed)District Attorney Stowe is a sharp strategist. I do not want to come across as a lofty elitist. But,Stowe must have had stratospheric scores to be accepted at Harvard Law School. MOO

OK....if you say so, Mizstery. Every time I think I've got it nailed down, something goes and changes! I am not a big fan of changes. And to be honest, I didn't see DA's arrest coming. And I thought that by now, we might have a couple other arrests.

Would it not serve JP well to through his attorney to pull his waiver of a speedy trial on the accessory charges? By doing so it seems that would make LE put up or shut up. Any guilty parties I am not in support of, don't get me wrong. But since LE has brought these charges against him I don't feel he should have this stigma over him for the duration that this trial will take if he is innocent.
