i have heard it is easier to get drugs inside the prison than out on the street. jmo

Prison and jail are different, though. I have to admit I have a family member on a "vacation" courtesy of our county's jail, and I can tell you there is no way in heck someone could make or possess anything there. The inmates and their rooms are searched all the time. The only thing I can think of is bringing it in with you in a "cavity", then carrying it around with you in that "cavity" rather than leaving it in your room, but that would mean the initial strip search would fail, and you'd have to know that you would be arrested in order to plan that out. Yes, in prison people make things all the time. I majored in criminal justice, and we visited prisons and jails and were shown all kinds of things they had confiscated and told about how they make alcohol and such in there. But jails are different.

ETA: I don't really have a theory on what happened here, because he obviously got it somehow. So not saying anyone is wrong, just saying that what you hear about prison doesn't necessarily hold true for jails.

Zach Adams seems to be so diabolical that it wouldn't surprise me if he was sitting in the woods and used his phone to post that right before he kidnapped Holly.

I do believe he is just that cunning and evil.

I do too. I don't think his addiction has anything to do with it. I think the addictive aspect was another part of his risk-taking, impulsive and sociopathic personality. Sociopaths can sometimes be addicts, and I think the drugs just helped mask an underlying personality disorder or at least give him a convenient excuse for anger and violence. I don't buy that he was really a different person when he wasn't doing drugs. His criminal record is pretty much evidence of that. And I think he knew that in Tennessee, he would get away with it. Why not? It's not like he actually served nearly the time he should have for that many offenses. It looks like he mostly received "suspended" sentences or probation, or the cases were nolle prossed. The longest consecutive time he actually spent in prison was sixteen months, but should have been three years, according to the sentence. How in the current punitive sentencing structure does anyone get away with that many felonies, hard drug felonies no less, with barely any jail time? Unbelievable. And it's clear to any judge looking at his record that he's a repeat offender. I mean, it's not like he's been deterred thus far. So I think someone should be answering for why he was free to kidnap and murder Holly Bobo when he should definitely have been serving time.

A follow up on my last post on this case. Someone needs to contact a satellite imaging service to look at the area the morning Holly was kidnapped.

Right now:

Crowdsourcing volunteers comb satellite photos for Malaysia Airlines jet

http://www.cnn.com/2014/03/11/us/ma...ourcing-search/index.html?iid=article_sidebar

I posted this suggestion a few pages ago, that with all of the hundreds of high res imaging satellites criss crossing the earth, scanning every square meter multiple times a day, this could help solve the mystery of where they took her to. In this case, only about 60 square miles needs to be looked at- if that.
Brilliant idea!

:rocker:

I've seen Holly's missing signs on the back of a few 18 wheelers on the interstates in south Louisiana over the past few months. I saw one this morning on my way to work- the first I've seen since ZA was arrested and charged with murder.

The Bobos and the nation were looking for Holly all over the US via these signs on 18 wheelers when all a long Holly has probably been relatively close to home as she was murdered by a man in the local area (ZA). It made me so sad to think of the hope the Bobos and many others had that Holly could be found alive by truckers driving around the country with her face on their trucks and how that hope is now gone. :(
Sending positive vibes to the Bobos, Drew, and all who loved Holly.

I like that idea and I believe it was even discussed around the time she went missing. I think the only problem is the satellite services would have to be focused on a certain area during a certain time frame and I dont think they can go back that far to get specific images of that area on that given day. Unless they are stored somewhere for that particular day. They would have to have a series of photos for a certain period of time to be able to see vehicles moving.

And I think there are limitations as far as zooming in from what I have seen in the past, it seems that type of searching would be best for larger objects like Planes or maybe even a vehicle but I dont think a person would be very easy to find if they were on foot.

Now that certain vehicles could be looked for, it would be best to look for a certain vehicle he had at the time rather than a person.

Here is another thing that was also discussed at the time was pulling all cell phone records for everybody at the time. Since the town was rather small, it seemed to a lot of us at the time that cell phone analysis could help find where they put her because certain people could have been elminated rather easily. Why this was not done at the time was confusing to a lot of us.

All good points...

Especially about being able to recognize smaller objects versus larger objects...

But I what about if there was a "grave" or hiding place... Would movement of this size earth load be visible from the type of virtual searching described above?

Or... Possibly increased activity in woods or abandoned building or ??? during that time frame?

Just some thoughts...

As a former detention center employee, I can say your comment is true.

Unless he brought it with him in his butt.Sorry for the image!

That area is a common hiding place, and is called a 'prison wallet' by inmates.

Jails, too? The one where my family member is (not something I'm proud of - bad DUI) is pretty darn strict.

ETA: I guess you answered my question. Detention Center is jail, not prison.

My blood ran cold when I read this:

It's relevant in this hearing because Gwyn said Bobo's case has to do with meth.

"I worked one of the first methamphetamine-related murders back into the 90s, where a guy kidnapped two young men, tortured them for seven days, killed both of them, threw them off into Center Hill Lake," Gwyn said. "Fast-forward to 2014, and I thought in my career that would be the only time I would ever see anything like that."

In the case TBI Dir. Gwyn chooses to compare Holly's to, the victims were tortured for seven days?!?

How could Holly's death be linked to meth? What does this mean?

I took this to mean her death was at the hands of someone (ZA) involved w/meth.
I also think that since he was testifying/involved with a commission on meth in TN he was connecting dots... saying meth production/use is out of control in TN (which clearly it is). Could be wrong obviously. I don't think he's tipping TBI's hand on the HB case per se.

OK....I think he might want to make his statements more specific because it can almost be read that HB was involved in the drug world and as a result, was murdered. And I don't think that's the case at all.

Of course, the rumors went wild for a while early on that Holly's abduction was an effort to silence her for something she stumbled on related to drugs. So naturally, the statements could be taken to mean something like that too.

Law enforcement said in the news conference that Holly was killed "during the perpetration" of the kidnapping. This would simply mean she was killed while he was attempting to abduct her. That would explain why his Facebook post came so soon after she was scuttled out into the forest.

If he posted on facebook at or near the time she was abducted, and he was the one who did it, then the routing records for his cell phone would place him in the neighborhood.

I heard straight from a jail inmate out here that in our local county jail while he visited, he could buy meth.

ZA may have a healthy commissary account to obtain it?

I'm sure his enabling mother puts plenty of money in his jail expense account so he can buy munchies and not be forced to survive on jail food alone. The idea of her sweet little boy having to survive on bologna sandwiches and iced tea probably gives her nightmares. Surely her sweet little boy wouldn't use that money to buy drugs, would he ??

Tugela-- the answer to your question would be yes.

I've amended my view on this though since his arrest. We have all seen Zach Adams now and have a good idea what he looks like. He is 6'-3 and 150 pounds. He would be almost 6'-5 with a pair of hunting boots on. He is skinny as a rail to boot.

This does not match the description given by Clint Bobo of the abductor. He stated the person was around 5'-8 to 5'-10 and around 200 pounds.

The theory I am leaning towards now is that Zach Adams WAS there, fidgeting and anxious while waiting for the "other guy" to return with her. This likely would have been when he was toying with the phone and posting his version of an idiotic alibi. The time she was abducted and the time he posted it is too close together for him to be doing both at the same time.

I'm thinking that law enforcement knows they have one of the perps in their possession, and are hoping to put the squeeze on him to rat out his cohorts and also to ultimately give them the location of her remains.

Whether or not this tactic is going to work is left to be seen.

I wouldn't dismiss the theory that she may have stumbled upon his (and his buddies) meth related dealings just yet. IMO

Where did you get his height and weight? Is that just your estimate?

Karen knew immediately that something was not right when she got the message at school. The panic reaction was instant.

I'm convinced something happened at the coon hunt. IMO.

Karen and Holly may have discussed it and that was why Karen panicked immediately.

Speculation only on my part.

This actually occurred to me as well when I first heard about the stalking at the coon hunt story. I had the exact same thought. Don't know what I think now. It's possible.
