This is from the news channel 5 article:

A chancery court judge has ruled that she does not have jurisdiction to preside over a dispute about an immunity agreement in the case of a Tennessee nursing student who disappeared three years ago.

Decatur County Chancery Court Judge Carma D. McGee decided Tuesday that only a criminal court can decide whether prosecutors can revoke an immunity agreement reached with Shayne Austin.

From what I read, it will now go to circuit court.

I have not been able to find out IF a court date for the hearing on this immunity deal in the circuit court has been scheduled.

Carma... great name for a judge!!!!!

BBM - See, it is these kind of statements that makes me wonder what the Judge's actual order stated. Stating only a criminal court could decide these issues leads me to believe that the issues can only be brought up after charges are filed. If so, that would mean that the lawsuit itself was dismissed for lack of jurisdiction and there is no longer a lawsuit pending. Even if so, the same issues will eventually have to be addressed if/when charges are brought.

I thought that was already established at the previous hearing. Why did he have to appear again to be told the same thing.

It could be arrogance, or the fact he winked at his mom after the death penalty was mentioned could mean "it's gonna be okay, ma". I know Its hard to give this dude the benefit of the doubt considering his past behavior and attitude.

No, that makes me wonder what hes got up his sleeve.. thats like, just the words I needed to hear type of thing from a streetsmart sociopath!!

street smart or jailhouse smart, legal smart. kwim? thats fitting with something he has planned legally in the future for them to say that. That my take. He IS a sociopath no two ways about it, hes cunning too, everyone sees that. Why were so many people in that county fearful of him? Because hes a sociopath and has ties to people everyone fears. Thats the way its been in Decatur county for years & years.. time it ends. Now, I wonder what happens if he is ordained if anything? just curious:banghead:

Or perhaps the disdain of a sociopath. It's darned creepy either way.

I saw this last night but was afraid to post it here as WMC out of Memphis said in their article that it had nothing to do with Holly....they took a lot of flack though as folks wondered why it was even mentioned that he dated her and included a huge picture of her (Holly Bobo).
Interesting that their article did not mention that the two guys were related.

Thank you for posting it.

Right. Nothing to do with Holly. Where does the kidnapping charge stem from? Just curious.

Interesting he was one of the possible suspect some of us thought back then.

Someone on the WMC article last night said that she had called the dude's grandmother and she said the Barnett guy broke the guy's jaw and he was in surgery...she said that he refused to let him call a doctor or anyone for help thus the kidnapping part. Who knows if she was accurate in what she wrote under the article.

I will see if I can find the article.

The comments on the article are not the ones I saw last night...could be because it was posted on FB and that is where I read.

Man [Blake Barnett] Arrested after Fight with Uncle

Deputies said when they went to arrest him at another home, they found him with marijuana, which prompted a search of the home and the discovery of what officers call a mushroom grow operation.
