Judge Rick Wood said he is disappointed in the way attorneys handled Mark Pearcy's preliminary hearing, which was supposed to be scheduled for today in Decatur County General Sessions Court. Pearcy is charged with tampering with evidence and accessory after the fact in the Holly Bobo case.

Both attorneys asked that Wood continue the case with a preliminary hearing set for Sept. 22.

John "Dylan" Adams walked into the courthouse just before his 9 a.m. scheduled appearance. During the hearing, Adams told the judge he cannot afford an attorney, so he was appointed one by the court.

He has been held without bond since his arrest last Wednesday night on a charge of tampering with evidence.

The attorney representing Adams on Monday asked for a bond hearing and waived the typical waiting period for a preliminary hearing.

The judge set the next hearing for October 22 at 1 p.m.

I found this part very interesting. I have not heard this said before but of course I could have missed it.

The district attorney said there could be additional arrests in the case as well as possible additional charges filed against current suspects in the near future.


I had never heard that the DA may be planning on adding additional charges to the suspects who have already been arrested.

I wish the two main suspects could be charged with aggravated rape but I don't think there is anyway they can prove that since they didn't find her remains for 3.5 years.

So I wonder what additional charges the DA is considering when it comes to those already arrested.

Part of me hopes that HB wasn't subjected to any of the things on the rumored video and it is simply a rumor, and part of me hopes it does exist so as many of these criminals can be put away! It's just so awful to think about what HB had to endure if the video does exist.

Newspaper reports have stated that LE believes there is a video and they have sought Apple Support Systems to help them with the phones in their possession. If the video does indeed exist, I find it tough to believe that TBI could not access it. I know such a video would be heartbreaking, but if it leads to more arrests, I hope they can tap into it.

If TBI has all of these men separated in different jails and just one of them gives them some type of information, then TBI's ability to get them all talking is magnified. Especially now that Holly's remains have been found. They have them. I am pretty sure they have these guys and can use the threat of the death penalty to get them to sing against each other. And I think that is what's happening....

I don't know if that is happening, at least not with the main two perps. ZA&JA are career criminals and they know not to talk, imo. They would only talk if there was something in it for them. There is nothing that ZA or JA could offer where they would be spared from the death penalty.

I certainly do believe others are talking though but do not think it is the main perpetrators. And each person that talks just makes it more unlikely the main two....will. Their chances of being able to plea this case is NIL. IMO.

The ones who may be given deals are the ones who can help the DA in seeing to it that the main kidnappers and murderers gets the death penalty they deserve. Those who played much lessor roles.

In cases that are so heinous like this one the DA will not deal with the devil or devils. Cases like Holly's cry out for a trial and for 12 citizens to be able to decide what the harshest punishment should be.

I don't even think Stowe would plea if both main suspects agreed to plea to LWOP. This is just not the type of case where plea deals are acceptable. Stowe wants the community to know what all these monsters did to Holly before they finally took her life. And he wants to show the community what happens when anyone steps over the line into the pits of hell to the dark side and does these sadistic acts against a totally defenseless young woman.

He is going to expose them all.

I now believe they arrested Dylan because the DA wants to send a message to the others that may be arrested. And that is.... even though they may help by telling them what they know but if they were involved in any manner they too will be charged accordingly.

That way when Dylan gets on the stand he will have to admit that he is awaiting trial for tampering with evidence himself.

I think this DA is sharp as a tack.

If they do find the video then anyone involved will also be charged with aggravated rape.

While my heartbreaks to even think about anyone video taping the brutality she suffered it has become rather commonplace for suspects to memorialize their hideous acts upon their innocent victim.

I have seen in other cases where the police did have to seek assistance from the phone manufacturer. It is getting harder and harder for LE to bypass codes nowadays, especially with smart phones who are designed to provide security.

What convinces me that there is a video is Pearcy refused to give his code to LE when giving it could have proven what he has said all along that he didn't have it and had never seen it.

If I could prove my innocence just by giving LE the pass code to my phone I would do it in a heartbeat. I sure wouldn't let it go so far as to be arrested and charged. Yet Pearcy did just that. Like I have said before, he doth protest too much. If he has nothing to hide from LE then any person in his position would give LE the code they need to access the phone.

Plus I have never thought the lady was lying about seeing it either. She had nothing to gain by doing this and really by coming forward she put her own safety in jeopardy.

In a post of mine further down I have changed my opinion about what is wrapped up and taken out by the TBI.

I am now convinced it is the hardwood planks (boards) that were taken from the home. If one looks closely they can even see the ridge detail. Each hardwood plank is probably 4-6 inches wide and can come in 8-10-12 feet lengths. Imo, it looks to be about 8-10 full size boards or more. OR maybe enough to cover the entire area where ZAs bed was located and a few feet out all the way around.

I think they took it to see if blood had dripped down into the seams. Often even if something is tried to be cleaned they will not be able to remove4 all the blood that gets trapped down in the seams or crevices. Also if the hardwood has age on it then some of the sealer may not be on it any longer and dried out wood easily soaks up liquids.

Or they found what seems to be a bullet hole going through the floor in that area. If Holly was on ZAs bed when murdered the bullet could have gone in her skull and then caused an exit wound with the bullet passing through and striking the floor underneath the bed.

As far as taking part of the mattress they most likely saw what appeared to be blood staining or staining of some type of bodily fluid or maybe small fibers. It seems they just cut out the part they needed and left the rest.

Imo, the main crime scene in the home is going to be in the bedroom where ZA slept.

But gf, when putting down hardwood floors, you don't have the same length. You stagger the lengths. One board could be 12 inches, then stagger to a longer length and so forth. My entire house is hardwood, and staggering is a must.

ETA, shorter boards could be in the wrap. Duh Tulessa. Lack of sleep. Overlook me!

Such a tangled web with now 5 arrested! Seems like a DA's nightmare -- if they are tried individually, they are so intertwined it's bound to create confusion and doubt; yet trying them all together would be a mess too....

ETA - trying do a search for the most number of defendants in a murder case..

I was hoping that we would find out at this hearing if they were able to retrieve the alleged video from the phone. Hopefully all this commotion about ZA's brother's arrest has not caused the media to forget to check it out.

I am wondering what the odds are that a "master jeweler" would NOT know a group of thieves who were known to take items (jewelry) from alleged break-ins
and pearls. They seem to go hand in hand.

This was Dylan Adams' first time in court after being charged last week. He had nothing to say as officers escorted him into the Decatur County Courthouse.

Stowe said Dylan Adams will likely not be the last person arrested in this case. He added those already charged may also face additional charges.

The Bobo family was in court Monday. They watched and listened as the judge made procedural decisions. A friend of the family said they feel like this latest arrest means that some of those involved may finally be cooperating.

Wait, what? A person in the jewelry business should be assumed to be a friend of any and all thieves who steal jewels, because jewelry? Sorry, but I find that assumption completely unfair to people in the jewelry biz.

I think it too big a leap to decide that Pearcy bro. who is jeweler is associated with jewel theives because, well jewelry. That would be like assuming I know lots of criminals - well because legal field.

I think maybe I did not make my point more specific. In this particular case I do not believe that the Pearcy bothers do not know Zachery and the others. I am not making a blanket statement against all jewelers. A master jeweler is known for melting down gold and manufacturing new jewelry. Even to make new settings for cultured pearls. In a small community of 3,000 how many "master jewelers" are there? IMO they do know each other and possibly have done business before. Further I believe there is a reason they will not provide passwords or codes to search the phones. Why go through money for bond and attorney fees with nothing to hide?

Again, I am talking about these particular individuals in this particular situation, not jewelers in general.

The front left pew of the Decatur County Courthouse always has a notice hanging on it during court appearances in the Holly Bobo case. That's where the Bobo family sits, behind the district attorney, arms around one another, waiting for justice.

And it's where they sat this morning, in front of others wearing green and pink t-shirts, the new symbol for "Justice for Holly."

I think LE has enough to pursue the Pearcy brothers. They have more than we know, that's for sure.

As far as hardened criminals knowing not to talk while in jail, ZA has already proved he can't do it. Sending a message to his little brother wasn't very wise, was it?

I think when these meth heads get off the drugs and realize that the body has been found and that LE has access to certain information about the crime that only an insider would know, then they would be much more likely to talk. Everyone is susceptible when detained in jail, away from family, friends, cohorts and drugs.

Having said this, ZA being moved without warning, on a Saturday, to a jail away from Parsons and just after Holly has been found is just too much irony. In addition, JDA being arrested and put back in jail gives me an indicator that perhaps he desires to be in there. There are some dangerous folks that haven't yet been arrested I think. He knows what LE will find now that they have the remains, they have a 3rd examination of the Adams' home, and they perhaps have access to video evidence.

ZA would be a fool's fool not to make any deal he can to stay alive. I don't care for deals at all. I hate them. But ZA should tell them everything he knows if he expects LWOP.

I've been checking the MSM for any news on MP's Hearing that was scheduled for today and nothing ... nada ... zip !

WHAT is going on ? Maybe it was postponed ?

I'm not sure IF the media outlets forgot about it because it was to be held in Decatur County -- same place as DA's hearing was earlier this morning ... so I'm guessing that they would have covered it -- IF it was on the docket.
